Chatting with one of the coaches this morning. We were down to our 3rd string tailback and 2nd string fullback last night. The injury bug is alive and well.
@Buddy Rich there can't be much of a difference in our backups compared to starters. All of them are Jv players on a varsity field. It will be the same result reguardless. My hope is that we have enough players to finish the season.

we don't have a kicker. We can barely kickoff. Much less perform a snap and hold effectively. I agree with the 2 point method.
That takes the game away from coaches and will only let some teams win by a larger margin. Bad idea in my opinion . If a team can't perform a snap then they want score extra point by extra point or 2 point conversion . Like I said that is just my IMO.. Could be a pre-game decision by coaches and refs game by game .

@susancoleman... There is now a roster list on maxpreps.. Shows 43 players..smh...Just learned it's not accurate but we did pick up some kids...
Thanks @Buddy Rich. After I have sent two emails and you have used your connection they finally gave us an updated inaccurate roster. If the coaches can't take pride in attention to detail how can we expect it from our players.

We are 0 for 3 in extra points. I mean, We don't get extra points for kicking or for Running in for 2 points. We need some extra points for a little push in Momentum. I Respect kickers and Albemarle has had some good Ones. Do We have a Kicking Coach?

I enjoy so much watching the Players come out of the Field house and walk through the Crowd before a Ballgame and then the Fire Truck that puts it's light on. There is nothing like Albemarle Football. If We are down or whatever I am proud of the Guys. Just saying this for memory sake

From the looks of our punt team/kickoff, and the fact that we have not tried an extra point all season, I would say no. I am not even sure we practice special teams. They are as bad as I have ever seen. If we had a good offense and defense, we would be hard pressed to win any game from the lack of special teams.

Thanks. Someone wrote above, "Could be a pre-game decision by coaches and refs game by game." Wasn't sure what was being said, like were they even attempting the try.

A PAT appears to be the most simple okay in football but it is far from it at this level. The snap must be delivered rapidly and accurately. The holder must catch and control the ball putting it down with the proper placement with no hesitation. The line must hold three blocks going 9 v 11. The kicker must have his timing down, moving before the ball is set, propelling it over the goalpost but at an angle that will clear the outstrrychrd hands of oncoming defenders. Take it from me, it is not that simple.

I think they need to see what soccer players may can kick off and kick PATS. Get a kid that can hold and one that can snap. Then practice like crazy. Also, will have to work on the blocking for the PAT.

Most real good kickers have a natural rhythm and motion the first time they ever attempt to kick the football. To be competent PATs it does not take a really good kicker.

I believe we had a soccer player last year kicking for us.

To the best of my knowledge we have been using soccer players for the last several years as kickers. Seems we just don't have one this year. Nothing left to do but go for 2.......

When those Freshman get to be Seniors then We should be better. We definitely don't want to be like some Schools that have a better Program in Middle School than High School

I'd rather be good all around. The middle school program is important. We had one of the best middle school programs in the state on our level for a long time. That's where the "Reload" term came from.

Albemarle divisions 2 team wasn't very good last year. West Stanly went undefeated in the regular season, but WM won the playoffs, beating NS in the championship game.

Considering that Jackson averaged 20 yards per carry against us, for 171 yards and 3 tds. I am thinking EM will "run wild." The amazing thing about our WS score was that we won the time of possession by almost 10 minutes and still got beat 58-0. Whatever excuse someone can bring to the table is ridiculous. Here is the facts. After only 4 games, we officially have the worst AHS football team in 54 years. Fact 2, the kids aren't buying what Mason is selling. Its hard compete when the kids refuse to play for a coach. AHS has been young before and been through plenty of adversity in that a lotted time of 54 years. The bottom line is that there is NO excuse for expecting to get beat by 60+ against WS, let a lone EM. Call me negative but I predicted an upset win over Thomasville in week 1, only to be embarrassed ever since. We need to quit giving out participation trophies and participation excuses. I would love to be proven wrong and I will eat my crow in a heart beat if I am, but we are heading down the wrong path fast! In my eyes, from what I saw on Monday, our only win will be if we can finish the season.

The score Friday will be EM-60+ as many as Hammer decides to score with running clock midway through the second quarter, AHS-0
You are misinformed, mislead, or ignorant. But at any rate whichever one it is, youre wrong.

Guys I want to mention something. One of the board Members got hit pretty hard last week for making a comment. Take this from a long time Albemarle Fan. When You are down and You don't Question things then You are out in space Somewhere. The Players are Young ( easy to understand) but the fundamentals of Football have been around since the turn of the Century
I'll bet you know the fundamentals of baseball but would look pretty stupid standing in the box with a D1 college pitcher throwing to you. Point being, its hard to be fundamentally sound when you're exceptionally out matched in talent, size, experience, and strength.
