Our defense can hang but not if our offense keeps putting them back on the field with multiple turnovers. The turnover problem has to stop now. We can't afford to have to work out of a hole this week. Coming out flat is not an option either. I hope these kids put together their best game yet. The potential to win is there, making it a reality will be the task at hand on Friday night.
Should be a good game. Respect to EM. We have to come out with the same intensity as we have all season which i dont think will be a problem. This team is not like any other ES team with the style of play and the effort.
E Surry easy. E Surry and W Montgomery are on the way to a showdown with the winner going on to win the title. Should be a great one!
I wouldn't overlook Swain Co. or Mitchell. Either of those teams could easily beat West Mont. on a good night. Everyone thought West Mont. was going to the title game last year, DID'NT HAPPEN. Could they make this year....of course, will they, that depends on 20 or 30 different factors/
I'm pulling for West Montgomery this year and I will pull for the Eagles until They meet West. But, it is like You said. There are more factors than just being a good Team. Any One off Night will send You Home. There is a focus factor and a discipline factor. I feel like West has what it takes and I feel like Eddins may have Them there this year
That East Surry and West Montgomery would get a lot of Media attention. Back in the early 2000's it seemed that undefeated Teams where always meeting late in the Playoffs. One problem was losing Maiden to the 2a

What's your take on this game RD? You are generally astute and right on with your predictions. I think this will be a great game.
This is an interesting game for us as WM fans. EM is a well known opponent and it will tell us a lot in how they match up with East Surry. I think ES wins this one, but I will be pulling for the Eagles.
Same can be said for the match up of Walkertown and WM. I am not a huge believer in comparing scores because I think it is more about match ups and one thing the scores don't tell us is the turnover battle. Good luck to all teams and as you all probably already know, East Surry posters respect everyone and prefer to let the boys handle the talking through their play.

Wanted to wish all the East Montgomery people a safe ride up tomorrow and tell you welcome to our little slice of Heaven we call Cardinal Country. I think you will see we have a good little atmosphere and we love some Cardinal Football. Looks like it is going to be great weather for watching a second round game. Thanks, we played there in the the 3rd round of the baseball playoffs 2 years ago and it looked like a tight knit community , all the way to the radio crew pretty much set up close to the right field line,lol.
Looks like there is a poster on another thread that says EM will be blown out tonight. That's pretty big talk considering we haven't been blown out all year. No worries though, just a few hours before we see who is who and what is what. May the best team win.
And that was not from an ES poster. We arent going on here and starting mess like that.

Im sure it was a great game congrats to both teams. I'm the one who called the blow out on the other thread and I also said there would be no E.Montgomery vs West Montgomery reunion the score was close throughout but it still ended just as i predicted. East Montgomery does have nice away uni's though!!! However, I didnt anticipate West getting blown out at home. Northwest has two buzz saw type teams in Walkertown Prep and E.Surry and theyve both may have been a bit underestimated by their competition.
Yes, definitely underestimated. I would have never thought that those Teams could score so much in the 3rd and 4th Quarter. There was a big momentum change in the Walkertown, West game. One of these two will win the West. Now We will see what comes in place on the East side
Hats off to EM. You guys came to play and made our boys earn it, no doubt. Proud of our guys and coaches. We all know that the sign of a good team is when they face adversity and get in a dog fight and keep digging and open the game up. Our guys just refused to be denied. This time of year when teams play, it is like a back street brawl and the team that takes the hay makers and keeps getting back up is the team that comes out on top. Our boys kept getting back up. Never say die attitude. Once again congrats to EM on a fine season and thank you for giving us the game you did. Wins like that build character in a team.
