After watching football last weekend and today got me thinking about the possibility of bad weather in December for the State Championship. I think the teams from the East in 1aa are better suited for this than East Surry if they get there. And I think they will. I saw East Surry play Tarboro last year and at Reidsville. What’s y’alls opinion?

What type of weather are you referring to that would favor the east ? I know of none that would affect the west. The games won't be played in the east but the Triad Raleigh Durham or Wake Forest unless something has changed I have not heard about. Please explain, what am I missing ?

Wet conditions. We had snow two years ago. Maybe rain. Not predicting the weather but who does it affect more a running team or a passing team. In the college and pro games it seems to help the better running teams.

Most teams from the west run the ball. My opinion is if your playing for a state championship you better be able to run and pass the ball rain snow or shine.

My point is the two teams from the east are run heavy and they run a lot better than than they pass and East Surry passes a lot better than they run. East Surry is an elite passing team and Edenton and Tarboro are elite running teams. My question is which team is affected by wet conditions most?

Not putting them down they are good!! But last year the rushed 25 times for 7 total yards. Simple ? about how wet conditions affect different styles of play.

snowed 14" in Reidsville the Sunday before the state 2A title game with Northeastern last Dec.....Rams never saw a field outside that week until that next Sat when they played NE at NCSU.....didn't seem to affect the Rams as they won 31-28...................

Mountie do you think wet conditions hinder the passing offense or the running offense more?
I think wet conditions effect both running and passing in different ways. Slick grass slows an athletic runner down, in not necessarily his straight line speed, but in the way he moves. A power runner who does spin, juke ect won't be effected as much. A wet ball and field definitely hinders a good passing game, simply because it throws routes off, and wet balls are harder to catch. Snow is harder on everyone, but I think a Mountain team is better suited for a snow game because we see it so much more frequently than eastern teams.
