Big win last night for the Cards of Rhonda. Great to see Coach Wilmoth seeing some success. Just looked at their roster on MaxPreps and looks like there’s plenty of upside for this cards squad next year. If I was the elks I wouldn’t sleep on this cards squad after seeing what they have done the last couple of weeks .

The Elkin-East game could be very very good. However it will come down to defense I think. With that and the Cardinals history against Elkin, I'll give the edge to the Elks right now.

Elks are very physical. EW seems to have more issues containing brawn than passing teams. Elks line is huge. The Beaver boys are some ballerz as well. Gonna be tough to beat the Elks...but it's not exactly far-fetched either.

Lack of depth at the line and LB’s, the unwillingness to develop any depth, should be exploited by the Elks. Could be be a repeat of the Elkin vs WC game. WC’s lack of depth really showed in the second half.

Depth could be an issue on the lines. However, I think it's the resiliency of the Elks that make them a formidable foe. North Wilkes had quality depth and size on their line. The Elks were still able impose their will on them. The Elks gang tackle really well and from what i saw bring a nice physicality with every hit. EW lacks that at this time. Maybe a super physical week of practice could and should be in store for the Cards..if they want to STAY in this game. The Robinson kid for the Elks could be the Xfactor if he is full strength. Elks have the overrall speed advantage...but they have no one on that squad with the speed of #1 for EW..(the Vernon kid)...for EW to have a chance..this kid needs to touch the ball in every way possible as many times as possible. He's a TRUE GAME CHANGER!
