Early in the year East Duplin posters indicated they were more diverse than usual. The stats seem to prove it as their QB completed about 60% of his passes with 17 TD’s and 5 interceptions. I think he passed for around 1200 yards. Not bad, especially for an eastern team. I think, had the game dictated it, they could have been successful throwing the ball if they threw 5-8 times. That big TE would have been a problem even with the very talented Reidsville DBs. The key would have been to be unpredictable.
What y’all mentioned above plays right unto ED being successful passing had you loaded the box and took out your DBs. Clinton, WRH and James Kenan are well versed in the wing T and they load the box. ED is used to teams loading the box and they are still able to run on them.
Don’t get me wrong, I had Reidsville winning and knew ED’s route to success was limited. I feel for the Reidsville players and fans but I am elated for the Beulaville community. Certainly Reidsville can afford to let one slip away.
I do hate the season is over. Looked forward to reading this forum.
