Yay. So better to be Northwestern and Minnesota rather than Villanova and UCONN. Got it.
Wake me when this powerhouse conference wins a natty.
Not a single player in this tourney was even alive the last time that happened.

We have wins over Michigan, MSU, Purdue, OSU, PSU, Wisconsin, Maryland, Northwestern…. All of those wins are MUCH better preception wise than beating SHU. If we would have won it wouldn’t have moved the needle…. Losing to a ****** SHU actually hurt..

Dude I went to Harvard. I’m a SHU fan because I grew up in South Orange. Was in my dorm a block and a half away from Cambridge Rindge and Latin when alum Rumeal Robinson sank his FTs. Broke my heart.

Look at all the Big East coaches recently that jumped ship…. You won’t see one B1G coach leave for a Big East school. Not one ACC coach leave for a Big East a school..

Bottom line is they finished in the bottom half of a mediocre B1G and lost to SHU. keep em on the schedule and win, they'll be good for years to come. Those top teams you mentioned couldn't care less about scheduling Rutgers and anyone outside of the Rutgers fan base would understand and agree. You'd be singing a different tune if they had won that game and finished the season strong
There is no need to rip SHU. They were down this year and RU should have beaten them at home.
As for taking them off the schedule, I don’t see it happening considering Hobbs is the AD and he has strong ties to SHU.

You really want to go there? If so you’re really comparing a relatively small regional catholic school with a flagship state university with tremendous resources and history… but somehow your career offsets that. Wow you must be something, can I have an autograph? This is the delusion we see from many of our little cousins in South Orange

I have posted this before and I mean it with no disrespect since we are all rightfully proud of our schools. I have friends, neighbors, and co-workers that are shu grads and most are awesome folks, however there are also a significant number that have what can be best described as a Napoleon Complex when it comes to Rutgers. We are in their heads much more than they are in ours.
The realistic bottom line is that shu is a fine school. However outside of North Jersey, outside of prideful alum, and excepting an occasional decent hoops team shu is largely irrelevant by nearly any measure/comparison with any Big10 school. Sorry shu it’s just the way it is.
PS - I love and want to keep the rivalry… I appreciate history and both schools need to build more in hoops.

But the equally-true fact is that no one thinks of Rutgers when they think of the B10, and they never will.
To most B10 fans - and nationally - RU is just a joke.
Heck, many college sports fans don’t even realize Rutgers is in the league.

Like I said… Watch the next five years and keep track of the results…. $100M TV revenue and the investment, NIL and all the other benefits will only widen the gap.

Because they're both gonna be good! It's one game that could have meaning. No need to get rid of it, Kansas isn't looking to schedule rutgers..it sucks this year because Rutgers lost but in a few years when both are good?? It'll be great..get a few cupcakes out but keep this one
