We are setting ourselves up to look like absolute fools if we don't.

I understand we have to make impressions when we can, and I understand this is our attempt to get something MSU related trending.

What I don't like about it is that we have to do stuff like this.

For that reason, I'm glad we've got the bunch (Stricklin et.al.) there now. They understand we have to get ourselves out there, and they take every opportunity to do so.

So, nice move by the AD in taking yet another opportunity to make MSU a national brand.

On the other hand, 17, an endzone hashtag?

it's not at all. Now when "This Is Our State" gets put on the field - that would be antagonistic. And I would be shocked if it wasn't.

the athletic dept is really into social media. It's what they like to do. I get it but not something that says "great idea" to me.

agree completely, I have wanted them to change up the endzones forever, but this is cheap. hail state or state would have been fine.

It's not much different than some states having a .com on their car tags.

Should have painted THIS IS in the north end zone and OUR STATE in the south.

Otherwise I am ambivalent about the end zone other than seeing multiple maroon celebrations in them on Saturday.

To me This Seems like something USM would do. We have to win Saturday now or forever hear their ****. Why show this **** that early in the week? Now they have one more gd thing to out on bulletin board as if they didn't have enough. Lose this game and see what's 17ing trending. I guarantee it wont be anywhere close to Mullen to Penn State or even Jacksonville State for that matter. We are walking a very thin line with this whole thing. Billboards are one thing but endzones are another level. Those 17s were already going to be fired up for this game. I don't like kicking a sleeping, wounded near when he's down. Let him be.

A photoshop job by some guy who helps paint the field, or the guys that paint the field did it for fun before the real paint goes down.

Whichever it it, it's pretty cool since #hailstate is the hash tag all the MSU people encourage you to use. The amount of freaking out over this picture is going to be pretty awesome, too.

in fact I work in the tech industry. And Twitter will be gone in a few years, unless they come up with an idea to actually make money. They don't have one yet.

But I don't want a phone number, a chatter symbol, an email address, or even a PO box number painted on our field. You could put that on banners in the stadium if you want. It's arena league.

I laughed when I saw that yall had a hash tag in the endzone. It's absolutely awful. I hope they change that, for yalls sake.

Gold numbers, hail state on jerseys, hail state in end zone. The game is inherently important and doesn't need any gimmicks to make it more interesting. I think it's awkward and forced.

we have to keep throwing **** at the media just to see what sticks. That is if we want people outside of Mississippi to notice the game. I'm not saying I love it. But if attention is what we want then we have to keep trying to get it.

box like this. Here's what you guys understand now, that we (Ole Miss) can't seem to grasp: When your "tradition" mainly consists of losing, then it's no big loss to shake things up and try new things at the expense of those traditions. Recruits and players will love this twitter thing and this is the most certain Egg Bowl win since Eli's senior year, so now is the time to do it.

Meanwhile, half of our idiot fans are fighting over a buffoon with a foam head and floppy feet.

The hashtag is a great idea.

I'd say that takes about as much effort and time as painting a hashtag. Maybe you should mention it to mullen. If he wont listen call stricklin that is exactly the kind of idea he is looking for.

If there is some sort of holistic branding campaign that crosses multiple platforms and threads them together with twitter, facebook, tv and radio commercials etc... then I can live with it. Just not permanently please.

What's currently being fielded on your field, OR a potential hashtag? I'm surprised they haven't tried putting some Deadhead-type graphics on your field to distract the audience, or maybe a designer logo like Vineyard Vines would be more appropriate? Then the crowd would cheer, right?
