Not liking that MCB all but said they'd take UM today. Legion field on Jan 5. Cold. Crap venue. Crap opponent. And no one watching.

Clemson is likely going to the CFA Bowl... they won't pair USCe against Clemson. If that's the case, It is USCe to the Gator and either us or Vandy (probably Vandy... they have better wins than us) to the CFA and us to MCB.

You are, once again, wrong.

Sugar Florida
Cap One SEC #2 Georgia,LSU, A&M
Cotton #3 see above teams
Outback #4 see above teams.
Peach #5 USCe
Gator #6 Choice between MSU and Vandy
MCB #7 Choice between whoever isn't going to Gator and OM
Compass #8 Takes whoever is not chosen by MCB

For some reason Compass gets an SEC team before the Liberty does this year. IF, and it's a big if, the Gator decides to take Vandy over MSU, then MCB gets to choose between MSU and OM. They all but said today that they were taking OM, but there is also the potential that the SEC steps in and says that a 6-6 team can't get a better bowl than an 8-4 team.

This has nothing to do with how many teams are bowl eligible.

Well, here is one thing I'm not wrong about:

Our AD said before the game last night we were Gator Bowl bound win or lose. I'll go with what he says.

We're still waiting on CB9 to pay his bet from like six years ago. But

I can't say I recall the bet with Coach, though apparently everyone else does. Was I supposed to pay if we lost....?

Where did MC "all but say" they were taking Bears? The interview I read didn't.

If the Gator Bowl is not a lock now, I sure hope Stricklin is still lobbing hard for it.

Also, the bowl reservation form on the athletic site has 3 bowls. It is Peach, Gator, or Music City.

Now why would they narrow it to three if they were not sure it would be one of the three?

The gator is the obvious choice with the two others being opposite extremes.

And just think of all these people that have been talking and posting about the projections for weeks. The season is over, again, over, and we still don't know where we are going. Its like preseason magazines, speculation and propaganda.

If Bama beats UGA, I think there is a chance that UGA plays in the Chick Fil a..

against Clemson. That would be a huge draw and the Chick Fil a took USCe two years ago when they lost the SEC champ game. I think the Outback, Capt. One and Cotton will not allow LSU to fall to the Chicken Bowl like many sites are reporting. I do however think there is an outside shot we get screwed and end up playing in BHam but I think we are a lock for the Gator or MCB. I can't see the SEC allowing us to drop to the lowest bowl with eight wins.

Formerly is right--in the end, it's Slive's call. That said, I don't think Slive dump an eight win team for one that doesn't even have a winning record, BUT... Vandy does NOT travel well (all their players go to school at Peabody, not Vandy) and I doubt the Gator wants Vandy and 30,000 empty seats. I can't see MCB wanting Vandy either--no one will book hotels, etc., for what amounts to a home game.

i guess it can be read to say whatever anybody wants it to say, but the guy said that OM just won a big game, just beat State, had a lot momentum, and only mentioned that MSU was 8-4, lost 4 of it's last 5 games, and came to Nashville last year.

I think MSU goes to the Gator. However, if I am wrong, and it's between MSU and OM in MCB, I think MCB chooses OM, unless the SEC steps in and forces them to take the team with the better record.

Quote from Scott Ramsey, President of the Music City Bowl:

"We had Mississippi State last year. Sometimes with repeats … we like to keep cities and bowls fresh for players and fans. Secondly, Ole Miss hasn’t been to a bowl in three years. That’s always attractive, and (Ole Miss had) a big rivalry game win over an opponent late in the year.”

(all their players go to school at Peabody, not Vandy)

This is incorrect. That's like saying, "All State's players go to the College of Education and not MSU." Peabody is just the name for Vanderbilt's college of education in the same way that Bagley is the name of Mississippi State's college of engineering. Peabody used to be a separate institution, but it has not been in quite some time. Now, I'm sure they have a lot of players in easier education majors (at what happens to be one of the best education colleges in the country). But so do we and everyone else.

Otherwise, I agree.

MCB is saying that because we have shown zero interest in going there. It's a bowl for a six win team.

Don't fall for the chatter. The SEC and associated bowls started doing that several years ago when they realized that the explosion in information access on the internet combined with a set bowl pecking order was taking a lot of the excitement out of the selection process. They don't want the SECCG participants knowing what their fate is if they lose, so they refuse to let the selections be known beforehand, or even the two scenarios if they're different past the first slot.
This used to bite us in the rear when other conferences knew their destinations before our fans did, but now most of the conferences have fallen in line.
We had to hear this same crap in 2010 with Tennessee going to the Gator Bowl....ain't happening.

At this point you can almost guarantee TAMU to the Cotton, putting the results as follows.
Sugar: UF
Citrus: SECCG loser
Cotton: TAMU
Outback: SoCar
Peach: LSU
Gator: State
MCB: Vandy
Compass: UM

For the universities' sake I want the most prestigous bowl as we could get, but the more I think about it I kinda wouldnt mind playing in Birmingham for selfish reasons.

-The game is on Jan 5th at 1pm so you could drive to the game and not have to spend the night
-We have been to Jacksonville and Nashville the past 2 years.
-We dont have alot of momentum losing 4 of our last 5

If Gator goes Vandy I dont think there is anyway we end up back in Nashville. If the screw job is in for us to play in Birmingham , Stricklin needs to tell the SEC the ONLY way we will play this game is if they match us up against another BCS opponent - no MAC, CUSA, or Sun Belt teams - and book us up to play a Big East team (Pitt (5-6) UConn(5-6) or Syracuse(7-5).
