I don't see how cheating on your wife represents a fireable offense or especially "cause" that will void a contract. Hell, do you have any idea what percentage of these coaches have their little trysts? Not to mention top administrators, board of trustee types. I mean, if they all got fired for that. A lot of powerful and successful men tend to do that. It has to do with ego and well they have the opportunities. Maybe it was something worse than simple adultry.

People cheat on their spouse all the time. I agree, if you fire everyone who did it, a lot of people would be unemployed.

Travis Haney is a hack journalist who used to cover college ball here in SC for the Charleston Post & Courier. Zero credibility unless things have changed dramatically.

Didn't he have Stoops as Spurrier's replacement last year?

Seriously, if stoops was hit with solicitation of prostitution or some other incident involving marital affairs, Mitch would go from the laughing stock to the, well, someone give me a word?

I'm calling BS on this rumor. No way Stoops is fired after the game. You guys really trust a no name reporter on this. A rumor is easier to believe if want to believe it's true. BTW him and his family are still a family. Jones was talking on his radio show about seeing them out recently.
You're crazy

Yeah, I've heard of it. When has it worked?

If you think Gran would turn this train wreck around, then you have fun doing that. Nick Saban could walk in tomorrow, and we're still going to be terrible this season.
Gran isn't the future coach. But if you fire Stoops now you can begin the search for his replacement in earnest. And did I mention that there is an elite coach not working right now?
