In ref to the earlier post re UM signing the guy that, shall we say, "mismanaged" a credit card. Here's my take:</p>
Croom came to Starkville and ran off about 30 players, many of whom he considered thugs and guys who weren't "doing it the right way". The result was losing games he would not have lost with those players (see Maine, Houston, et al).</p>
Nutt came to Oxford and met his thugs half way...compromised, coached 'em up a little. The result was the Cotton Bowl.</p>
I'll take Nutt's way every time.</p>
