I honestly never knew WVU had a GM position. I kind of thought that the HC handled what you'd consider GM duties at the college level with the athletic director acting as a team owner.

He was the last of the old school GMs. Most of his time was spent finding portal players. The new GMs will have that role but many others.

So who hires this position and oversees it? Is it the AD or HC who selects the GM? If it is the AD, then what authority does the position have that is independent of the HC?
