CBO says Trumpcare will increase uninsured by 24 million. But his plan will be "great", "fabulous", "tremendous" and "better than Obamacare". Deep state lives on at the CBO.

Let's look back at CBO scoring Obamacare:

It is important to point the CBO overestimated coverage numbers when it scored Obamacare in 2010. CBO estimated Obamacare would cover 24 million people, yet current numbers sit at just 11 million.

CBO did say the legislation will save over $300M over 10 years.

The reality is, the bill has not yet passed. Changes will be made. As Nancy said, we have to pass the bill to see what's in it, so she should be thrilled.

Actually RPJ I've been skeptical of CBO scoring since they refuse to adopt "dynamic scoring" as opposed to "static analysis" whenever they score tax and budget policy. (among other things) so I just have never trusted their numbers because they are usually very wrong.

It is a pretty unreasonable projection so if he slams them they deserve it.

Keep in mind, the GOP plan gets rid of the individual mandate which forces people to buy insurance. That is mainly young people that would've been penalized if they did not have insurance. I am certain that is a significant part of the drop in coverage. In other words, the young and healthy.

It is all irrelevant at this point because it is an incomplete plan.

The CBO's refusal to adopt dynamic scoring is truly absurd. It is apparent to every economist in the world that behavior changes based upon government policy. Yet, these idiots assume that behavior never changes.

I doubt it considering his statement today

That's RPJ's attempt at cynicism. He'd prefer to see Trump's plan throw everyone off of Health Insurance rolls just to claim an imagined political advantage over Trump.

If the AHCA is amended and adjusted to actually lower Health Insurance costs, and costs for health care you won't find RPJ cheering for health care consumers or providers much less for Trump.

It's all political to him and the rest of the Left who only want to see a Government take over of the entire industry.

That's what sends a thrill up his leg.

And that's why everyone else's premiums increase.

OK countryroads89. Can you please post for us some independent statistical analysis (to counter what I posted in my primer) proving the accuracy of CBO's budget and policy projections through the years?

Just show us something independently verifying that they are indeed mostly correct in their scoring using "static" analysis to refute this:

http://www.businessinsider.com/8-charts-prove-economic-forecasting-doesnt-work-2016-1

or this
(which reveals most of their forecasts are wrong)

Don't you need them(young people) in the system to balance the costs of the sick?

So you force young people to buy something they don't need (and young people are the least wealthy among us) to subsidize a much wealthier population (the elderly)? Not only must they buy coverage, they must include elements (a male must buy pregnancy coverage) they will never use.

There is and are better ways.

Don't need? Really?
I went 10 years without ever going to as much as a patient first. I did use my dental, but never needed my medical coverage. The only thing I've used my medical for is my sleep apnea and the occassional Z pack since those 10 years. So yea, I didn't need it. I had it through my company, but i paid for something I didn't use, at all.

So they will never be involved in an "accident"?

I beg to differ; they do "need" insurance.

"Everybody's going to be taken care of and they're going to be taken care of much better than they are now." Donald Trump on the new health care plan.

"I'm going to accept no salary." Donald Trump. Turns out that is a lie too. He is being paid a salary.

He should be impeached for taking a salary, and being rich. Double dipper. Impeach him!

He is being paid a salary.

By Law his salary is still issued (paid) countryroads89, but he's not accepting it, it's being donated. Either you know this or you are calling him what you are.

"He is required to get a paycheck but will be giving it back to (the) treasury or donating," spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in email, adding that the staff was trying to determine the legal process to do so" (this was after he was issued his first monthly paycheck)

If only they were as "generous" with their own money as they insist everyone else be with what they've earned...what a beautiful world it would be? What a glorious time to be Free?

(Remember; "IGY" that 'ol Steely Dan ode to Liberal utopianism?)

He "plans" to donate it....and receive a tax deduction for the donation. So it is a double whammy against the Treasury.

Do you think we can see those tax returns? Especially since he claims he will donate his salary?

Know what countryroads89? I really don't care. So Trump makes a lot of money, or has it. What's it mean to me?

I want him to cut my taxes and let me keep more of what I earn. I don't care what he has because I'm not entitled to it and he's not required to give me any of it. His money does not belong to Uncle Sam.

If we know what he earns or has made, what difference does it make to my paycheck or my budget?

If he chooses to donate his salary as President to deduct it on his taxes, more power to him and good for the charities who will benefit from his generosity.

I'd rather see them get it than to see it wasted on Washington bureaucrats who don't do a damn thing.

Your questions was answered yesterday. He asked the press corp to select where his donation will go at the end of the year. So, your kind will get to chose.

countryroads89 wants Trump to work for IOU's, like the Treasury promises SSI beneficiaries.
