THR thinks rather favorably about Tony Bradley. A great prospect, no question. He might have a phenomenal freshman year, but I think some over there are building him up a little too much...

Someone on THR asked, "For those that have seen Bradley, who does he remind you of?" Steat was the first to respond: "Tim Duncan"

Spaceytoyz:
I can't say Duke is the Best until some of those guys play at a college level? I mean what if Tony Bradley plays as good as Giles at this level ?

gteeitup:
carolina wins the acc
roy wins coach of the year
woods is freshman of the year

Haven't you seen his mixtapes? He was once labeled the best 14-year old in the country. THR members do their homework when it comes to analyzing 3 minutes of highlights.

Oh yeah, THAT Woods. Him and Nate Britt both share that honor I guess then

Steat providing some humor this morning... When asked who 2016 signee Tony Bradley's game reminds him of, Steat comes up with a so-so guy named Tim Duncan.

He actually plays a similar style to Duncan....minus the part about him being great right now.

if significant sanctions come down, could guys like woods and bradley be allowed to leave and also current players?

It would be the NCAA's ultimate call....but in situations like this before kids have been allowed to look at other options. Current players might not have the same luxury, though. For them they could transfer and sit out a year, or leave the program and explore professional options.

DSouth with a real headscratcher:

"Look at duke for example, K had the 3yr sociology major created to allow his athletes to complete their degree in 3yrs, the fact that it exists is not questioned, K champions it himself publically. I read recently that those classes are 98% scholarship athletes?"

1) Coach K did not create a 3-year sociology major. That assertion is just ludicrous.

2) That idiot can't comprehend that any undergrad can graduate from Duke in 3 years (or less) if they. That option isn't available only to athletes. Any undergrad at Duke can graduate early by either overloading class schedule each semester or taking summer school every term. I'm speaking 100% from experience here.

3) K has never championed a 3-year sociology major for his players publicly. Again, such a ludicrous pile of nonsense. He may talk about players graduating, but he has never bragged publicly about a 3-year major he didn't create that simply doesn't exist.

4) So he read that 98% of the students in the fake major that doesn't exist at Duke were scholarship athletes? He might have read that crap at THR, but you won't find that nonsense printed by any reputable source. You know why? Because it's a giant pile of horsesh!t.

I get super heated when I see this bullsh!t posted about my school by total morons who have no idea what they are talking about. Ignorant pigs like DSouth spin their wild fantasy/conjecture into 100% fact and pass it off as such. DSouth, I hope you or one of the other pigs at THR are reading this and realizing that

His stupidity is infuriating
It's honestly hilarious that people over there seem to value his opinion. I always considered him an outlier, like the worst of the worst. But the longer I've been a Rivals member, I've just realized he's par for the course over there. He just uses more words to show he's an idiot.

FYI, might want to edit the second sentence of your post

Not a THR quote but saw this on Rupps. Would actually be embarrassed over this if I was a Hole fan or in any way associated with the "school."

Carolina Basketball ‏@UNC_Basketball 5m5 minutes ago
Carolina Basketball had a perfect APR of 1000 for 2014-15, the NCAA announced today. http://bit.ly/26ffSAV

When you don't have to attend class or do actual work, is it really that difficult to achieve an APR of 1000? Asking for a friend.

DSouthr conveniently saying infractions may apply to the women's bball team but not the men's. Lol. This is a small part of another one of his novels. Why are his posts always sooooo long?? He must think he is one smart son of a gun.

"In the new NCAA bylaws, impermissible academic assistance is defined in two ways:

1) “Substantial assistance” that is not generally available to the university's study body and it helps an athlete become eligible to play, receive financial aid or earn an Academic Progress Rate point.

Or 2) An academic exception that results in a grade change, academic credit or fulfillment of a graduation requirement when that exception doesn't exist for other university students and it helps an athlete become eligible to play, receive financial aid or earn an Academic Progress Rate point."

I really don't think the second case applies to men's basketball, it may to womens BB and I do think the NCAA will hammer them on this one."

They will hammer the women but not the men for doing the exact same thing???! I don't get it....

Clown heelbent checking in:

"Word I have is UNC will follow the same time line as before once they receive the updated NOA and that the NCAA is fine with that. UNC has a high powered, very expensive law firm representing them. NCAA wants to stay out of court because they know they don't have a leg to stand on. When SACS lifts UNC's probation the writing is on the wall."

"Word I have..." Lol.

Some UK fan scorched their asses with this one. No responses from any of the resident morons yet.
Here is what the UK fan posted:

Sorry, but you guys are hosed. Cheating for 20 years will often get you in trouble. The most astonishing thing about your fans, coaches, administration, is the continued arrogance you proceed with. Do you not accept or recognize the admitted fault/guilt? I'm embarrassed I took postdoctoral continuing education classes at your "school."
The entire university will carry this guilt for the unforeseen future. Anyone with a hint of integrity, which is obviously rare when associated with uncheat, would be embarrassed, humiliated, and ashamed. I assume most on your board aren't graduates of your institution as it is, or else some sense would kick.
Go kicking and screaming, but go you will. Btw, how'd you all like that last shot of the season?

The UK fan has since been banned over there by badass mikey and the morons are all singing his praise. Ha Ha. They deleted that post and all is back to normal. Denial, denial, and throw s**t out there that has no factual evidence at all.

TarHeelNation11:

"The classes weren't fake. They were real. They were just really easy. So you're already 0 for 1.

No one was "cheated" out of an education. These aren't toddlers who go to the classroom their pre-school teacher tells them to go to. They are adult men and women who willingly chose their own majors and courses to take. Those that ended up not taking a useful major have no one to blame but themselves. No guns were put to any athletes' heads.

We've done ALL of this, big guy. AD gone. Chancellor gone. Guy in charge of the AFAM program gone. Secretary in question gone. Professor in question gone. New procedures have been put in place to ensure that it will never happen again.

Facts aren't your strong suit but I don't blame you. The media has horribly failed in their coverage of this whole thing."

DSouthr:

"
IN ADDITION, the nut jobs that so enjoy laughing at UNC educating our student athletes they need to go to this link:

http://www.tarheelblog.com/2016/4/20/11476148/unc-posts-perfect-apr-in-18-sports

UNC perfect APR in 18 sports teams! The article ends with a very thought provoking question. How is it that if AFAM was so vital to keeping grades up and yet the UNC student athletes APRs have INCREASED since the AFAM athlete enrollments stopped?

If we needed the AFAM to keep athletes grades up to eligibility level then wouldn't you have expected the APRs to tumble when those easy classes were no longer available?"

Lol.

Tom79:

"I hope you enjoyed your visit.

You may want to read up on the subject at hand. Your lack of insight and information is alarming."

Actually, Tom, it's you and the rest of the Holes lack of information and insight (as well as degree of absolute denial) that is alarming. Unreal.

I guess this thread is dying but anyhow, Tom 79 again:

"I'm feeling the "amendment" to the NOA isn't harsh as to results/penalties and so forth. I am thinking that the NCAA has picked up the corner of Momma's nice Persian rug and found a dust bin of stuff that is not UNC related."

Been a while, and i'll bump this one for this fantastic comment by Dr. Steat the prognosticator. He knows the health of Giles better than anyone. He also knows K is already forcing him to play major minutes against the player's, family's and medical team's will:
I'm telling all of you this and please remember it. If Giles has a setback I guarantee you that K will do his best to get him back on the floor during the season. The kid is not even going to be game ready until December, if ever. On top of that, playing in a real game is not the same as practice. If Giles has another knee injury before the next NBA draft, no NBA team will touch him in the first round. History is not on Giles side. You can rattle off 7-10 NBA players that have had there careers cut short by knee injuries. Here you have a kid that has had significant knee issues before even playing one game in college. No way he should be playing for Duke this year. This falls back on Giles and his family. If the kid has another knee injury while playing for Duke next season, any complaints from the family will go on death ears. Dumb decisions often have negative consequences.

Another one from Steat:

"I really think Giles is only going to be a shell of his former self. I wish the kid the best, but think he is making the biggest mistake of his life. He will not be game ready until December. He is risking another injury . Hicks will blow by him."

I'm having some back issues myself. I wonder if Dr. Steat could provide me with a detailed prognosis?

I like the comments about GSD's "BETS" , if I had taken 6 or 8 of the bets he's made the past few years his dumb-*** would be broke.
