Right. Give me a break. Do you really think this board is that naive. I guess you do. That's why you are here.

I guess you don't understand what the winking emoji means. I haven't posted here much, so I can understand why my sarcasm slipped by you. As far as posting over here goes I can leave if you want. It won't bother me. Of course running off a rival fan that has been respectful is what you guys say happens on THR. Maybe they are getting into your head too.Right. Give me a break. This is the kind of post I wouldn't mind seeing deleted. Clearly this person has one goal: to try and get a rise. They've got nothing to add but negativity. I'm not a mod so I don't know who has gotten a ban, but one of my first posts over here was about the tone of THR. It seemed different over here to start with and some of your fellow posters and I were actually agreeing on some things. If we didn't it was a respectful disagreement. I guess I just shouldn't have made what i thought was a harmless joke.Do you think anyone would be able to voice their opinions and whatever else the way some of you, gunslingerdick, has been allowed, over at THR??. They ban over at THR for simply finding out you are a Duke fan. It is absolutely ridiculous.
Meh. I've seen funnier over there and over here. This little thread is pretty funny regarding recruit Brandon McCoy.

I know we joke about the length of DSouthr's posts, but does anyone actually read them? They seem to ramble on, so I usually just skip them.

what is patently absurd is his entire schtick
Funny, I always thought this is what Gary's brain looked like:A sneak peak into the brain of Gary in regards to all things Carolina :

DSouthr and I are having another pleasant exchange on THR. The conversation is too long to post, IMO. But if you have the time, give the thread a look. The guy is trying to win an argument on semantics and he insists that I believe age is more important than talent on star potential, even though I have told him multiple times, in fact, that I absolutely do not believe that. Clown argument, bro.

With all due respect, Skysdad, we need that kind of material to keep this thread going. Why don't you just leave him be. He feeds off things like that. Not worth your valuable time IMO. OFC
DSouth explaining why players committed to UNC drop in the recruit rankings:
What ya have to understand is after the history we have had there is a lot of anti-Carolina feeling out there. Rivals hated that UNC was seen as the gold standard of how a program should be run, so many felt well what about us and yet they could never reach the level of esteem UNC got or gets for that matter.
You see more & more guys on sports channels like ESPN and Fox with commentators that come from schools that are historically our rivals, a lot of perception is born from these people making comments that are either blatantly anti UNC (they had a field day with the AFAM stuff) or that over state the programs that are our rivals.
You get AAU coaches that "put together deals" with some of our rivals, deals that we just will not do and that creates negativity with some AAU programs that UNC will not play the game with them. And of course all these influence a kid's decision. It isn't about what is said, it is more who they trust and what they say.
These factors along with the perception effects a kid that commits to us as if maybe he isn't as talented as we thought or he would have gone to Ky or duke or kansas. Now of course, much of that is agenda driven and those doing the rankings base their rankings on the talking heads because those doing the ranking do not have the time to really break down all the kids they are ranking, so they take someone else's word for it. Just my opinion...
So much laughable irony in this post (in particular the bolded portions). I asked @Eric Bossi on the national recruiting board to address this misconception regarding why UNC players drop in the rankings. Would love for him to weigh in if he pops up over here. Insinuating that bias against UNC is the primary reason these kids drop is just hilarious.
Gary explaining why Jalek Felton is no longer a 5-star:
Some of our friendly Rivals reporters will probably deny it, but there is a perception among some that automatically downgrades Carolina Kids, especially those who declare that allegiance early.
I've seen the majority of the 2017 5*s and the idea of Jalek Felton falling out of that category is utterly, patently absurd --- just like it was with Joel Berry in '14. Had Jalek committed to uk I can almost guarantee you his ranking would be higher. Doubters are welcome to flame away.
How predictable.
Mark, I asked the question over there because I do believe Carolina commits drop in the rankings. But I don't think its for any of the conspiracy reasons they gave us over there. I think its because Carolina players consistently drop in NBA draft rankings the longer they stay at UNC. Scouts have seen first-hand how poorly kids are developing under Roy and I think that subconsciously affects their belief in the kid's potential.
And so they may dock them a few points for that without even realizing it.
James McAdoo is the prime example: projected Top 5 pick after year one, projected late first round after year two, undrafted after year three. You can name any number of kids who have seen their draft stock tumble after sticking around in Roy's system: Barnes, Meeks, Paige, Justin Jackson, Tokoto, Strickland, Hairston (actually improved his stock by leaving UNC and going to the NBDL), Henson, etc
GSD is just trying to get a rise out of us.No one could be this obnoxious without getting his butt kicked on a daily basisHaha, I love the irony of all of this. It really shows the difference between the boards. If I had posted on THR like Dicky posts here, he'd have been the first to tell me to leave immediately. In fact, he did tell me that once. I was banned for posting the same way for the most part. There would be a lot more hostility over there, no question.
If he ever tries to say that our posters or mods are alike, I shall laugh.

Proof or it didn't happen.
Proof or it didn't happen.
And I quote:
" If you think we're sensitive and we react that way to any question, then don't ask questions at all".
I'm sure you'll have some sort of witty way of saying that's not actually telling me to leave, but I really don't care about the rationale and I'm sure you'll be right no matter what you actually meant. But you wanted the proof. Like I said, I find this all amusing and informative, haha. Enjoy your holiday weekend.
You are correct. We would be having fun with McAdoo no matter what happenedBack to JMM. Everyone says he was a lottery pick after his first year. That may be true. But he wasn't a good basketball player. He got enough PT to show he can run fast and jump high but any GM worth his salt would have seen that JMM was devoid of skill. And as I said above, he became a much better player throughout his time there. So was he more draftable after 1 year than after 3? Probably. And by that measure, maybe his decision to stay hurt him. But had he been drafted after 1 year, he'd be out of the league by now and you guys would be having fun with the fact that he was such a high pick and then busted.
You are correct.
