Sounds eerily familiarNeed to defend and shoot the 3 better. Tigers had a field day.
Same **** we always hear but you left off "need to improve f/t shooting"........Need to defend and shoot the 3 better. Tigers had a field day.
Hubbard barely played. Can’t blame it on him tonight. As long as Hubbard is playing, there will be little perimeter defense. He compromises all of the defense. That is the price you pay for his offense. This post is neither pro nor anti Hubbard. It is just stating fact.
According to many SPS folk, Hubbard is overrated and a liability.Where would Jans be if Hubbard doesn't leave OM after Kermit got fired?
Not here this year.Where would Jans be if Hubbard doesn't leave OM after Kermit got fired?
It applies when he does.Hubbard barely played. Can’t blame it on him tonight.
But who we got without him on the court? Been the issue since Jans. He can't build a whole team.Hubbard barely played. Can’t blame it on him tonight.
He didn’t play that much. Just bad defense once again from a defensive coach. As long as Hubbard is playing, there will be little perimeter defense. He compromises all of the defense. That is the price you pay for his offense. This post is neither pro nor anti Hubbard. It is just stating fact.
I think they play at Arkansas this coming week. Will be interesting how that turns out.Anforknee really needed this game tonight. Did he sit any starters?
Only heartburn on this is, Memphis media was calling this the opener and will report it as such. State fans, no bragging rights.
Famous last words...We start the real season with 3 games we should win without question
PutridI don’t care about the score of these. But 4-22 from 3 feels like Groundhog Day
Haven’t defeneed the 3in ages. No muscle down low. Again……sighNeed to defend and shoot the 3 better. Tigers had a field day.
Well if we lose to TN Tech, Northwestern State, or Jackson State then we’re definitely screwed. Those three teams were a combined 30-61 last year and all were sub 300 in the NET.Famous last words...
23 minutes ≠ barely playedHubbard barely played. Can’t blame it on him tonight.
I don’t know what Jans deal is with not getting point guards. If Johnson is our only option at PG, it’s gonna be a long year. He got stripped 3 times just bringing the ball up the court.
Let me rephrase then. The perimeter D sucked just as bad if not worse with Hubbard out.23 minutes ≠ barely played
I do think it has somewhat forced Jans to coach away from his preferred style. Hard to make the argument that it would be better without a good player like Hubbard. But not sure Jan’s has been a good coach to try to take advantage of Hubbard talent.According to many SPS folk, Hubbard is overrated and a liability.
Based on that, Jans would likely be in a better position right now.
I listened to the student radio broadcast last night. To their credit they pointed out with Hubb off the floor we make entry passes and play better team ball. With Hubb on the floor we just hand of to him left or right at the top without looking to make entry passes. We’ve done this his entire career and it can’t be very motivating to the bigs to get position and look for scoring opportunities. Jans really should change that to include more of the team on offense, but I’ll believe it when I see it.I do think it has somewhat forced Jans to coach away from his preferred style. It’s just an exhibition. It’s just an exhibition. Big yeah. This does have a very strong “haven’t we seen this before” feeling.I hate being right about Jans.
Because Jans literally can't develop him into a basketball player. No player under Jans has actually improved year after yearI’d like to know why tee Bartlett gets zero playing time. He dropped a bunch of weight, was highly recruited out of high school, but just sits at the end of the bench with his warm-ups on looking totally disengaged. Is he not good enough to get some of okafor’s minutes?
is this another Jans miss?
