Some numbers got adjusted and I think they went from 59 to 58 teams per classification to level out 1a and 2a. They weren't moved up just because they are Reidsville.
That doesn't bother me too much. I just don't know which way they are going to do it.
I push for non football conferences and football conferences because it can be done for the most part (except about 4 schools).
The class breakdown is by adm only, no difference in what sports a school may or may not have.
Unless we decide to schedule some rpi/confidence/record building opponents!

I promise Lincolnton is the first one's we'll call if we're not in the same conference.
Also I've heard, because of the pushback from several catawba county teams, that they're looking to finally get away with our mandatory opponents

If they try to minimize split conferences they could put Lincolnton and West Lincoln with Bessemer City, Shelby, Chase and East Rutherford. Not a bad conference but I don’t know if any of those schools would be happy with it.
I see both sides of the Shelby/reidsville split. If they are together, they can actively control whether Shelby can close the gap in the number of championships each school has won.
But where is the fun in that. We need them apart. Shelby needs to claim reidsville is scared and has a cupcake schedule. Reidsville just needs to sit back and point at the total numbers. These boards would be an awfully boring place in the off-season if we can not make post and after post dealing with the hypotheticals and what ifs.

Thought about that possibility, too. We were in the WNCHSAA (For most of it) Southwest conference, along with Shelby, Chase, East Rutherford, Kings Mountain, Belmont (later South Point), and Rutherfordton-Spindale Central... Burns and Crest opened around 1968 (Not sure of year, memory only), and we were I think moved to the SD 7 for a couple years after 1972, then into a conference with Statesville and Newton-Conover around 1977.
The old Southwest conference was really good, and we liked it there. Recall Coach Harris being very disappointed when we got removed from it, he appealed, with Shelby and South Point backing us, but it wasn't upheld... Wish I could think of a better word than removed, but it just isn't coming to me, today. Guess I could say taken out or extracted, but one sounds like the discarding of a refrigerator, and the other sounds like dental surgery.

These arguements are SO lame. Everybody and I mean EVERYBODY knows Shelby is scared and Reidsville does not have a cupcake schedule. Not to mention the fact: There is no way Shelby can catch us and SL and 2nd and TD knows it. Now that's settled, don't want to hear any more about it!!!!!

If Shelby really wanted to they could try and petition.
Lincolnton could have a splash here and there. They have beaten Shelby and Reidsville in the past.
I know, even with that, the whole league is 1A JV platinum ball.
Take out Lincolnton, Shelby, or Pasquotank and it's unfiltered midget football

Go watch Avengers Infinity Wars when Thor tries to make another axe. There's lots of scenes with the shortest giant in there.
I remember a few kids playing it at maiden when I was in highschool
