I know in Tarboro everyone is excited about the matchup with Murphy because of the name alone. Is it the same out there?

I can remember being a kid and watching the bulldogs go against the Warriors of North Edgecombe. The game I am thinking of you guys actually won.

I think Tarboros best RB (#2) dad was on one of those North Edgecombe teams as their workhorse back. It may have been the year they played elkin not sure of the years

And let's also not forget, look at who Murphy beat the last 3 weeks. CSOD a team that quite a few picked to beat them. Murphy won convincingly. Then they beat corvian, a team that a lot of people were high on. Some even called the 2A West the corvian invitational. And Murphy put up 49 on them by far the most anybody had scored on corvian
Then they beat a good starmount team. Sure Starmount made mistakes, but in games like that in the playoffs you find ways to win no matter how ugly they may be. So yeah I vehemently disagree with the narrative Murphy is supposedly down. They earned the right to be here.
Yeah down is not the word to use in this situation. Like you said, they won the west. Of course you could say we feel like this team is not as strong as past state teams. Even King Tarboro can say not all of their past 8 teams were as strong as this years team.
No one wants to hear that! This is really what the football God’s have been wanting for years honestly! The Mystique of a true SMC powerhouse backed by the gnarly fans and the pride of latter years of well deserved and earned trophies through blood sweat and tears from them Mountainmen work outs that you Flatliners can only wish to gain true strength from! I mean that’s what we used to hear before all the sub- divisions, and oh I forgot Tarboro’s subsequent takeover… but Murphy here is your chance! Ya’ll been waiting years for this! Tarboro also finally gets their chance… to beat a team in an NCHSAA CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL GAME..in their division from the most storied conference in NC!
We played North Edgecombe in 1998 championship. What was the dad’s name?
Naw Shawn was on the team in the 2000s that lost the state championship game. Cobb was the coached

Murphy home side was only about 80% full Friday. Could be a bunch from brevard at the game Saturday though
I don't think this this team is near the top of that list. Not offensively. Hold #5 to 100 yards and you got a good chance.
Still a very good team though overall.

It’s hard for me to believe Simmons is that far off on this year’s team if they aren’t even close to the top of that list—especially considering they’d be favored by at least nine points against any of those teams head-to-head.
I am expecting to see a tough bulldog team Saturday. Our guys will have to be ready!
How would yall compare this team to the team that beat Northside Pinetown in spring 2020-2021?
2021 offense better. 2025 better defense.
2021 team has two players starting on college teams this year.

This year's team has a better defense and run game when healthy. The 2020-21 team definitely had a better passing game and they were huge on both lines, so maybe they would've matched up better with Tarboro.
The 2020-21 team lost 3 starters (one of them arguably the best d-lineman in 1A/1AA) to off the field stuff before the season started, so they could've been even better. But taking matchups and hypotheticals out of the equation, I think the 2025 team healthy is better than the 2020 team.

Now that's the teams I coached on ,I told everyone end of last season this team had the talent to go to State.
Kind of boring interviews. I wish they would’ve asked craddock about the matchup with Murphy
His interview was one of the shortest. Seemed like they wanted to interview him kinda fast for some reason
