(Win over Army) How soon before we see calls for Flood to stay if "we finish strong and beat Maryland".

As off base as that will be, bet we see that, and that Flood himself will talk about "finishing strong" if Army is a win.

1-0 beotches. Then doomsday threads on how RU keeps Flood for one more year. And predictions of a win over Maryland, and another contract extention. And more delusional threads about how Glenn is still alive.

No less comical than a bunch of out of shape old men behaving liking a lynch mob looking to beat people up on a message board who don't subscribe to their way.
You may want to go to a shrink to help you overcome your hang up with those think your boy Fludd's is a dud. Lol.

If there is an obsession around here it's with some of the Flood haters. A quick look at this board will show you that.

I have a feeling they are going to hang 30 on Army and Flood will be accused for trying to save his job. LOL

LOL myself, and others, have been saying the following about our dumbo of a head coach, for 3 years, and you were one of many who refused to listen:

- he can't out-coach anyone with a clue
- he has major recruiting issues/limitations (and that it would start to "show" once Nova's group was gone...)
- he isn't "Mr. Nice Guy"

...and I was RIGHT, so if you want to call this a "lynch mob," fine, but you do realize you and 10 others are sitting on an island, all alone right now, don't you? Maybe you should just say "you know what, some of you guys were right..." and get ready to move on to the next chapter of Rutgers Football where, hopefully, we can all be happy together??!!! :cool2:

I'm sorry but beating army and a 2-8 Maryland team which will probably be 2-9 is not finishing strong...... He needed to win at least 2 games against penn st, nebraska, ohio state, mich state, and mich and we were only competitive in one of those. He's gone no matter how he finishes.

Some of us have more class and restraint to post the nonsense you and others spew on these boards. You, on the other hand, come across as a loud-mouthed know it all, and this forum was a lot better when you were banned. Revel in your self-omnipotence. I am not going to rehash history with a poster who is hell bent on getting the last word in to show the world of Scarlet Nation that he was "right" and can say "I told you so."
The premise of the original post is ridiculous. You guys can all get in your circle jerk and have a grand old time.

let me get this right. we finish the season with wins over Army and Maryland, don't make a bowl and have gone 2 years straight without beating a winning team. Flood needs to stay.

How about answering the OP's question…will you advocate for KF to remain here if we go 5-7?… or is your idea of a good fan just shut up and whatever happens, happens.
If you do think Flood "deserves" another year, than you should be able to answer the question easily.

You sound like a 12-year old girl. Myself and others were bashed, relentlessly, for expressing an opinion based on initial facts of Flood's regime - one which ended up being spot-on - by you and others, many of whom whined to John to the point getting me banned, most of whom have come to realize myself and others were right, and have even said as much, with some literally apologizing right here on these board, but no, not you, you continue with bashing ME instead of acting like a grown man and calling it like it is.

Pathetic.

BTW - what does not liking a coach, and speaking about it on a message board (not the "I Love Kyle Flood" chat room), have to do with "class"?? Have I EVER said anything untrue? NOPE. Have I ever bashed the man as a human being? NOPE.

Ridiculous.

Honestly there's far more reason for people to have always doubted him as head coach than to totally believe in him. If you love RU, don't you believe the head coach should be someone with a level of experience that came from a national search? Or could they just stick anyone in that position and you'd follow him to the end?

Most people who like Flood seem to have had the hope he would grow into being a head coach. Sorry, but I prefer my coaches to be ready to coach, not strictly there for on the job training.

zappaa, the original post was troll bait and ridiculous--beating Army or Maryland changes nothing. I don't have to answer to anyone, and I made my position clear quite a while ago. You are not one of them, but why do some posters have to act like little children, running around saying "see, I told you so!" I am not advocating anything because whatever you, me or even the biggest loudmouth on this board who cannot keep his mouth shut advocate does not matter. It's in the hands of the BOG, and I highly doubt anyone on the BOG is reading these boards.

You sound like an idiotic megalomaniac trying to carry out a vendetta against anybody who ever dared to question your opinions.
I don't recall "bashing" you. Debating yes, but bashing no. But in your mind, if someone does not subscribe to YOUR view, you take it as an unholy insult and save it for later. Yes, pathetic is right.
And I am 100% certain that I never "whined" to John. You are free to ask him.
Carry on, because we all know you have to get the last word in to prove in YOUR mind that YOU are right. lyndj nailed you on the why Flood will be terminated for cause thread when he said "I realize that you are a "god" on this board so what you say must be true" to the point where I and others were laughing out loud.

I was one who was on the fence about Flood and thought he would grow into the job. I will admit I was wrong. Flood needs to go and RU needs to scrap the Pro Set offense. Flood had his chance, time to move on!

Can't Rutgers borrow against Future Earnings and hire a Big Time coach with a competent staff?

I will be surprised if we beat Army to answer the OP and regardless, its time to move on from the Flood regime. I was one of those who wanted to see him succeed but its clearly not happening.

An Army win would only be better than Norfolk State and Kansas. Every other team on our schedule is far better.

Not to mention that Nuts was doing the same thing to others when he was still on the Flood bandwagon. Screaming at everyone who wasn't buying into Flood, rationalizing away his failures and disputing people who were calling his wins "smoke and mirrors". Anyone who was posting a lot back then could tell you it wasn't until the Houston homecoming game where he flipped and saw the light. Maybe with the new search feature someone can dig up all the excuses after that SMU debacle.

He can go 1-0 the next two weeks and it won't matter. From very, very reliable sources, the investigation has uncovered he went 0-3 in 2013.

Unless the boosters have lined up and guaranteed Julie the money to hire a new coach, the feeling by the administration has to be to keep Flood unless forced to can him.

The buyout is about $1.4 mil plus the buyouts for the assistants. My guess is the total can be somewhere around $2 mil. Then you have to hire a new guy that will ask for $ 2 mil a year. So for 2016 you would have to pay Flood $1.4 mil (a little more than his salary) plus an extra $2 mil for a new coach. So this means Rutgers needs to come up with an extra $2 mil to cover Flood's buyout along with the Assistant buyouts. The only way it may make sense is if the new coach gets a laddered contract where in year 1 he makes $750k, year 2 $1.5 mil, and then laddering up to $3 mil by year 5 where it averages about $2 mil a year.

Comparing Flood vs. new guy salary:
2016: Flood - $1.35 mil vs. new guy at around $2 mil ($650k increase in salary expense to Rutgers)
2017: Flood - $1.45 mil vs. new guy at around $2 mil ($550k increase in salary expense to Rutgers)
2018: Flood - $1.55 mil vs. new guy at around $2 mil ($450k increase in salary expense to Rutgers)

From a NJ.com article at the time of the extension:
He will still earn the same pay through the end of the calendar year, then his salary is set to increase to $1.25 million (from $1.05 million) next year. Flood's base salary remains $550,000 and after guaranteed additional income he will earn a total of $1.35 million in 2016, $1.45 million in 2017, and $1.55 million in 2018.

Flood's buyout would be paid in biweekly installments over (I believe) a three year period.

Each 10,000 season tickets not sold costs ($535 ($385 plus $150 donation) X 10,000) at least $5.35 million. Will Rutgers see a drop off of 10,000 season tickets? 5,000 may be a safe bet, and that more than justifies change if Rutgers loses $2.7 million in season ticket sales, not including parking and other purchases. That's why it is more effective to send an e-mail to at least your ticket rep, or to someone in development to express your views, rather than crying into the wind here.

Further to above, that's what I don't get about Rutgers' thinking when it comes to monetizing football and seeing the potential. You would have to think someone on the BOG knows this math, and sees the huge pipeline of cash streaming into athletics in 2021 (and incrementally increasing) each year. They have a goose ready to lay golden eggs, but they are going to keep their feet on the throat of the goose and choke/kill it until then? Perplexing.
Someone posted somewhere that there is a mindset of fear to pay a football coach too much money because it will upset the faculty. I get that Rutgers is a University first, and an institution of higher learning. But the faculty have opportunities to monetize their departments and increasing their $$$$ by publishing, research, consulting etc.

Ks you are something. You try to shout down a discussion about what we might see with a win over army by alleging you are being shouted down by a lynch mob.

Perhaps if you limit to 50 posts a day you wouldnt have to cover every side. We've all seen your season long posts on where youve been with this coach and qb and now we see the all along heres my position current declarations. You can try to portray yourself as the voice of reason but your frequent attacks and attempts to denigrate speak for themselves. How about doing what you try to portray and discuss the issues. In more than one post you were asked to and your response again speaks for itself. Some self proclaimed voice of reason.

As flood is still here its not unreasonable to expect to see posts upset with his effect on the program and not wanting to hear his nonsense if I win over or meet her this weekend. That's not a lynch mob. That passionate fans about their alma mater

And there are any number of schools with just as good and better academic reputations than RU who manage to be successful in athletics and pay the coaches accordingly.
