The easy answer is we test the athletes weekly for these people. If you look up Flu results this year in NC it is combined with Covid. Somehow the Flu went away, what they are doing to our kids is outright injustice and we need to each stand up and fight for there future.
Yep. These kids are going to be scarred for life.

After the the Ncshsaa got their hand slapped they will not intervene with any rules or recommendations the are leaving it to each school system. Some systems are testing every week where others are treating this season season like 2019. If a season is to be played something has to be done I don't what that is but respiratory virus season cranks up in a few weeks.

We need to stand up and make our voices loud. Our kids are going to continue to drift into bad habit's, when the things they love are taken away. We are allowing social media and the entire media to take away our freedoms and quality of life. We have had 14.5 thousand total deaths in our state since covid began, our state population is over 10.5 million people. How many of these people are or where high risk without this covid? We are going to die people, that is just facts. How much damage are we willing to do to the quality of life of our youth? I do not want anyone to perish, but in the same note we should want our youth prosper. We all want to live forever, but at what cost does that come to our youth?

Agreed, ncballer81. We will all die at some point and nothing can stop that. So while we are blessed with life we need to live. Unfortunately, those that want a risk free existence and think they are entitled to that seem to hold most of the sway right now. We could also save a lot of lives making the max speed limit 35 mph, closing and banning all swimming pools and forcing everyone to be a healthy body weight. So why aren't those that are also wringing their hands over COVID advocating for those things as well?

You're comparing apples to oranges yes there are always risk in life and one day Lord willing when covid goes from pandemic to epidemic like the flu then it will be just another virus we learn to live with. But right now none of those other things mentioned is overwhelming our hospitals, everyone concentrates on deaths from covid which is bad in itself in Mitchell 3 Avery 3 & Yancey 2 in the last week or so one a 24 young woman in Mitchell, in McDowell a 28 year old man who's unborn child will never know him. But thing is you better hope you don't have a car or pool accident or other health issues requiring a trip to the hospital because they have no room for you, two weeks I drove my cousin to Knoxville TN for her to be with her husband who didn't have covid but heart issues because that was the closest hospital with a bed and from what I understand the closest hospital to Mitchell County is Richmond Va or DC.
The other issue is the covid long haulers people which is like 30% or more of people who recover from covid who didn't need a hospital my brother in February had a mild case or so he thought until after the quarantine then the virus attacked the gout in his feet and he couldn't walk for over a month and is still having issues and may never be the same , my healthy 24 year old son-in-law had it in January and still has to carry an inhaler where it damaged his lungs.
Someone mentioned no longer any flu, well there is of course it's summer when there never is any to speak of but last winter there was while yes flu cases did drop but that makes sense that it would since the flu is also an airborne virus like covid so the same precautions like social distancing, less indoor crowds, mask etc also helps lower the spread of the flu as well even more so because it much less transmittable then covid especially the Delta verant.
I love to watch football particularly high school as much as anyone and as far the players who are in quarantine I hope they're not very sick themselves this new varent seems to be harder on young people then the other and I hope no more games are cancelled because of it ( though I doubt it) but a lot of people have a lot bigger issues happening in their lives right now and some of it may happening to players themselves or their families.
