No need to put charbacks throughout. Other stadiums don’t have them. I would think closing in the sez with chairbacks would be awesome, and offer season ticket holders. But, we shouldn’t lower the capacity…we’re already the smallest stadium in the SEC. We need to be putting visitors in those upper decks, and leave the lower levels for our fans.
There’s only one little section on the end that’s the actual visitors section. All those other fans bought tickets through MSU or the secondary market.

From an aesthetics perspective, I fully agree with doing something like this in the SEZ. Adding 1-2k chairbacks may be reasonable, but we’d have to be careful not to make the empty seat problem worse with 8k additional seats.
I assume good chairbacks take up more space than the butt real estate on the metal bleacher? If so, then adding chairbacks between the 30s or 40s would help to fill the empty seats elsewhere with more state fans. Sure this would lower capacity a bit, but probably no more than 1k.

I just bought 2 tickets on the 50 yard line in section 4 for the Georgia game from Hailstate.com. There will be a ton of Georgia fans at that game as well.

Few other stadiums have them because no one has been putting stadium expansion $$$ into anything other than “premium experiences” for two decades. Even Memphis who can barely get 30k to the Liberty Bowl on a good day is adding $225M in suites, club levels, etc.

Don’t get me wrong, I get it. ADs are looking at this from an ROI perspective, and you’re no going to make more money on anything else. That said, when you refuse to make things more comfortable for the other 85% of the fanbase, you get what you get.
