Consider their competition. I know they have a good passing game but some people are acting like they'll light us up all night. What the hell? I've even seen people on the lake talking about wanting to avoid playing USM. Gimme a break!

If there is a downside to anything they will find it and champion it.

Simply getting to back to back bowls against anyone is not enough after decades of shitastic football.

Find the darkside to anything involving MSU sports, express a negative attitude about everything and don't make waves.

I don't want to play Houston because I think we have a better shot of beating a lower team from the ACC than Houston.

Also, Nashville > Memphis.

I'm talking about people not wanting to play UH or USM out of fear of getting beat. Our defense totals are against SEC teams and ECU's are against C-USA teams.

Going by common opponents, even though our stats appear to be close we have fared better.

With the status of our season, I would say at this point that getting any bowl is good to have back to back bowl seasons.

We are not in the position to say sorry Liberty, we won't come because Memphis is a crap stadium.

Let us beat Bama or Arkansas to go with a Ole Miss win and I don't think it is an issue.

I just find it ridiculous to read some of the posts that sound like we are too good for a bowl game and don't want to play Houston because they might whip our ***.

Come on now. No one is saying that. People are just saying if they had a choice - they would rather play in the Music City than the Liberty.

Regardless of which bowl we go to, I will be there.

To me the posts about the Liberty read more like we are scared we might have to play Houston.

Everyone who has sat in that stadium knows it is a **** hole.

we're going to cause them as many problems on offense as they are us. Let's not forget that the past two seasons we played them- we had some pretty good offensive games. And one was with Tyson Lee as our QB. Let's not forget AD literally carrying one of their defensive players on his back 50 yards into the end zone. And then last year, we did whatever we wanted to them on offense.

If we play them this year, I expect it to be the same.

Now as far as stopping their offense- I thought we did a decent job against them in Starkville three seasons ago- and that was with Torbush. Last year when we played them, they didn't have Keenum. So, this time, it will be tougher to stop them, but our defense is better than they were when we first played them with Keenum. We may have to go to a nickle defense, but I feel good about Banks, Broomfield, Slay, Nikoe, Charles Mitchell, and Wade Bonner going up against them. And Cox and Boyd should be able to get some pressure on them and stop their running game.

I'll say this- I'm not scared of them. But they might beat us. The fact that we've played them two years before this and having a month to prepare should help us compared to most teams that would play them. We should win the battle in the trenches on both sides of the ball. I suspect that we will try to run as much as we can to try to shorten the game and control tempo and try to pound them and beat them up. At least that's what I would try to do.

I am just expressing an opinion about most of the post I read discussing the possibility of having to play Houston in the Liberty Bowl and a lot of them came off more as scared of Houston than playing in a bowl.

Hell, it would make it easier for me to actually go to the game if it is in Nashville. I can get a SW ticket, non-stop.

That is not what I am saying at all. Sorry you took it that way.

4-5 UCF has the 5th best total defense in America.

4-5 UCF has the 6th best pass defense in America.

As UCF proves, the only statistical category that matter is the W/L statistic.

And Houston is an intimidating badass in the Win/Loss statistical category.
I'm just saying, locations and other potential match ups aside, I don't understand the fear in playing them.

E. Carolina is in C-USA and we are in the SEC.. Naturally their numbers could be better considering the competition. That just don't hold water. I think Nashville would be more fun but I am ok with playing Houston. The main reason I don't want to play them is the fact we have played them two years in a roll and this would make three. I just want to play someone we will not play in a regular season game.

If there is a downside to anything they will find it and champion it.

Simply getting to back to back bowls against anyone is not enough after decades of shitastic football.

Find the darkside to anything involving MSU sports, express a negative attitude about everything and don't make waves.
Wasn't that the original point of the six-pack? You dumb *******? Am I really reading that on here?

And I think our offense would not give them much of a chance to have the ball.

Just my prediction. I could be wrong and they hang 70 on us, but I doubt it.

...If MSU wins one more game & becomes bowl eligible, we'll worry about Houston.

If Houston can beat Tulsa & win their division, we'll worry about Houston.

If Houston beats Tulsa then beats USM in the CUSA championship game, we'll worry about Houston.

So before your statictical onslaught even becomes relevant, there are a bunch of stuff that has to happen before we can realistically start worrying about Houston.

For no other reason that we would shut their gay *** fan base up. No more "you are scared to play us". I still have southern fans telling me that we are too scared to play them. Yes, even after we scheduled them for a home and home. Most southern fans still don't even know that we are playing in a few years. Bring southern on.... we will stomp their ***

6-6 and a Liberty Bowl trip are almost inevitable assuming we don't step on our dicks against OM. They'll always want us after the crowd we brought in 2007, I know some of y'all dread a trip to Memphis cause you think it's an absolute **** hole, but if we get to 6-6, I'd say we've an 80% chance of landing at the Liberty. At least the jersey shore (UCF fans) won't be part of the equation this time.
