Carmelo to the Knicks. This league is becoming so damn top heavy, I can't imagine this is good for the game. Thoughts?

for New York. They rolled the dice and got A Stodimire, who has played better than expected. Now they add Anthony's talent on the wing along with a veteran in C Billups at the point. Of course they are hoping to complete the deal next summer by adding C Paul. In all, a great move by New York.

And I can't wait to see the Garden rock again, but I see this hurting the NBA big time in the future. They can't afford to lose all of these small market fan basses.

Carmelo to the Knicks is great for New York and the league. However, it could really set Denver back. I'm just glad to see some Eastern Conference teams improving.

For the NBA as a whole, being top heavy might be a good thing, and parity a bad one... Having teams at the top year after year, especially teams with history like the Lakers, Celtics, etc makes those teams and players recognizable worldwide and can draw more fringe fans in. <div>
</div><div>Tennis is more popular and gets better ratings if its stars make the semis and finals (Serena, Venus, Federer and Nadal as opposed to players no one knows)... The same thing goes for golf, if Tiger, Phil, and some of the games household names are in contention on Sunday, lots more people will tune in that aren't die hard golf fans.</div><div>
</div><div>It may be bad for the small market teams, but at least they'll fill up their arenas when the star studded teams come to town.</div>

The Nuggets were supposed to get Derrick Favors, Four 1st round picks(would end up being pretty high this year) and 3 other players for Billups/Mello. The Knicks essentially got a steal by only using 1 draft pick and adding Billups and Melo.

Ohh and the T'Wolves decided to step in and take any leftovers that the Nets could have gone after.

Nothing sucks more than watching an NBA team that is 40-36 playing another team that is 38-38. Give me heavy weight matchups every week or so over every night parity.

The Eastern conference playoffs will be the best in many years with the Bulls, Heat, Celtics, Magic, and now the Knicks all having to play each other. The West will pretty much just be the Lakers, Spurs, and Mavericks.
