Is that a dude holding the paper? Because I only thought they made shirts with those thumb holes for girls. I'm 100% asking that seriously. The only time I've ever seen shirts like that are my wife's workout gear.
I've got a thermal layering shirt with the holes. Really nice on cold duck hunts when you need to wear gloves.
They are actually meant for ski apparel, but has recently been incorporated..

I work at The North Face's flagship store. Every single one of our running pieces has the holes, men, women, and children.
They gave me a hoodie meant for running and it's pretty aggravating. I don't use them. I reckon 90% of people don't (at least men) which is why you probably haven't noticed it before.

In the Military we get issued those type of shirts, layered they work really well. I wear them hunting, and to the ball games when it is cold.
