I’m hoping against hope that that means he already had done some work starting with the very poor start in the Oregon game despite the decent finish but certainly last week after UCLA…hoping they have already narrowed field of those who are Interested
I hope so. Kraft certainly should have done that but I don’t know really much about him. He has to be more strategic than Sandy…right? ;)

Kraft was Ruhle’s AD at Temple….

So maybe he could be that stupid. I just don't see. I think Rhule knows how it would go here for him. Maybe I'm just being optimistic. Hiring Rhule would be as bad as hiring Golden when he hired Franklin.

Agree with you. I am saddened by how this ended. Despite CJF being ineffective this year for certain, and inability to win the big game, I am stunned and saddened for it to end this way.
Despite his record vs. ranked teams, I'll never forget his reference to Joe in front of some of the a-hole Board members as "The great Joe Paterno" . I also liked his respect for tradition by removing the names from the uniforms. (If your listening, sorry Glove) ;)

I know a lot of people on this board will be excited. I have mixed feelings. Yes, it was probably time for him to go. However, turnover at the college level brings with it a lot of uncertainty and can have big impact on recruiting, which was a strength of Franklin's. Also, I am concerned about who is up next.
I understand the concern with recruiting...but did Franklin really get the most out of his 4 stars on a consistent basis? You see all these coached up programs flooded with 2 and 3 stars (ASU, Indiana) and can't help but think there are far better options out there to get kids to play to their potential, play loose, free, go out and play ball without overthinking.

Singleton was Gatorade National Player of the Year. It doesn’t matter as much anymore with the portal. Kids want attention and new graphics from Hayes Fawcett - then their time passes.

The funny thing is Seth Engle is trying to imply Raiola would follow Rhule which means Engle knows nothing about Raiola

Please no - this would be a typical Flyers move that fails miserable every time - I don’t give a rats a##’s that he from here or coached here or can spell PSU - just be a good coach.
Remember: “Franklin is from Bensalem “ when he was introduced IDC

I agree that this was the right decision, but I’m quite sad that it came to this. There are so many things CJF did the right way, it sucks that he couldn’t break through this personal performance ceiling he’s been stuck under.

I’m disappointed in Penn Staters who are treating this as a moment to celebrate. It’s an extremely lamentable moment. Feel relieved, sure — I’ll admit that I do at this point. Feel hopeful for what a change might (MIGHT!) bring for our program. But celebrating? That’s sh!tty. :(
