I always get ia kick out of it when they claim this. It's like they don't even realize that no one in the world would ever beleive that, or even believe they were really trying to be serious.

I always get a kick that it eats away so at some MSU fans that some Ole Miss fans have said that. If it didn't, the "LSU is our rival" stuff wouldn't keep popping up on here over and over. It's been mostly MSU fans I've seen bringing it up.

I mean, he's expected to play this week right? Just pointing out the double standard. Flame away

well, that's just stupid. Perkins came out of the A&M because he was injured. He made the trip to Baton Rouge and warmed up with the team- but just couldn't go.

They are holding out half their defense and talking of not even taking them on the trip- but then turning right around and saying "but they will be fine for the Egg Bowl"

You're reaching

Wasn't my words- I was going by what Mccready said- ya know- the guy that covers your team?

"Mcready added he thinks the odds of them playing this weekend or even making the trip to LSU are slim to none but said they will be ready to go next weekend"

While I think you're a douche for posing as Bulldog fan,

I think you make some valid points in this post.

If that is the extent of Freeze's comments, then it's a reach to say he's laying down for LSU to get ready for MSU. He may have that in the back of his mind when he makes the call on a couple of players, but I don't really blame him and he's doing nothing so overtly that it deserves a lot of criticism.

Your dumbasses don't even realize that it pops up because we are making fun of you. It's like if someone was running through the Grove in their preppy clothes, and they slip and fall in the mud getting it all over their bow tie.....I would laugh because it's funny, not because it bothers me that they fell. By all means, keep busting your asses with dumb comments....and I will continue to laugh.

He is coaching the way his contract is structured. He needs that $100k per SEC win, so he is saving up on LSU week and playing all his chips on MSU week. Its all about money.

Sends a bad message to their players. On the oher hand, they may understand the business decision. A lot of them made similar business decisions when they signed with Mississippi.

It's more than that - he's got $25K more in incentive to make a "low level bowl game" - so he's got $125K riding on beating us.

My only issue with that is, how does Neal McReady know that?

That's like taking Rosebowl's prediction of MSU to the Rosebowl back in whatever year it was as a fact. Sometimes people are just injured...

What C34 posted was the "spin"

It's what McReady said, and not what the OM coach said. So once again, Coach gets credit for starting another huge OM troll thread

Tweeder, I see what you're saying, but that's the whole point....It's an Ole Miss reporter saying they will be ready to go next week. You just said it yourself that Rosebowl's was a "prediction". McReady stated it like it was fact in the sentence above. To me, that makes it very different. If you are too injured to even make a trip to Louisiana, then how the hell are you for sure going to be ready to go 7 days later. I could not care less if they hold em out purposefully, that would make it even better to beat them and know that CJ and Co missed a trip to Tiger Stadium for the *** whipping that followed it.

So they're hurt and need a week for rest?

It's the point that they are so injured they cant even dress out for LSU, but then the absolute "they will be ready for the Egg Bowl"...if they are that hurt, then you can't say with confidence they will be ready for next week.

I'm not sure if everyone realizes it, but all SEC teams travel with a smaller roster than is available for home games. I think the limit is 70.

Freeze has been saying for months now that you only have "59 or 60 scholarship players" so travelling numbers shouldn't be a problem...unless the numbers he's been preaching are lies to feed the sheep in order to buy himself more patience...

Started the season with 78. If he's lost 25% of his roster since then, he's got some serious explaining to do...

Another Logic fail ...

I'm not sure if everyone realizes it, but all SEC teams travel with a smaller roster than is available for home games. I think the limit is 70.

While most of the walking wounded - sans DT Issac Gross and DE C.J. Johnson - are dressing out and practicing this week, trying to get ready for LSU in Baton Rouge at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Ole Miss Coach Hugh Freeze and his staff have some hard decisions to make in the next 24-36 hours.

"Trae Elston, Woody Hamilton, Wesley Pendleton, C.J., Issac and a couple of more are going to try to play, but we really aren't sure if they can yet or not," said Freeze, analyzing the situation. "We can't take a chance on taking all of those guys.

"We are already thin and we can't take a chance of traveling six or seven guys who can't go. We will have to make some decisions tomorrow."

But ... but ... Bucky just told the CL that ... "we only had 59 scholarshop players available." So, if the limit is 70 and he only has 59 guys, exactly how may "walk-ons" are in the two deep? You can't have it both ways.

Fuzzy football math...

It is not true that they only have 59 football players on scholarship. From their total scholarship number of 85, they are subtracting not only the players who have left the team since fall camp started, they are also subtracting redshirts on scholarship and injuries to players on scholarship.

It's bearing false witness, that's what it is. They're trying to make you think that their team is completely depleted like 'other teams have 85 scholarship players and we only have 59'. But using the same math, nearly EVERY team would have close to 70 or fewer players when subtracting redshirts and injuries at this time of the season. And you only take around 70 players to away games anyway.

With Coach34 as puppet master and ringleader

That's a bunch of ********. I did the same thing to Stansbury when he tried that **** with Moultrie- and the whole "Moultrie Knee" saga began. Stansbury tried to play it off like he was hurt and couldn't play instead of a suspension. When you say someone is hurt, but then turn right around and say definitively that they are going to play again on a certain date, they aren't as hurt as you are making them out to be.

Now instead of trying to cover up a suspension, this situation is resting some players that are a little beat up and sacrificing your effort vs LSU so that they can play balls out vs State

Actually flapjack, it's nothing at all like laughing if someone fell in the grove and got mud on their bowtie, as that laugh would be a REACTION to something you've just seen. I get that you're laughing because they fell. Of course you wouldn't laugh if you were bothered that they fell because no one laughs at things that bother them.

However, when the "real rival" stuff comes up, it's largely unprovoked. A few fans claimed LSU as our real rival a couple years ago, and while you're "making fun" - not as a REACTION but purely out of the blue, multiple times - you're also making it quite clear we're always on your mind and feeling a bit jaded that some Ole Miss fans may hate and want to beat another team more than you.

Sorry. If it didn't eat at y'all, y'all wouldn't keep bringing it up. Show me the last post on here of a Ole Miss fan proclaiming LSU to be our true rival. By the way, they actually tend to sell out their allotment when they come to Oxford, and y'all just returned 2,000 tickets.

Thank you Ole Miss fan for your 3 paragraph description, on an MSU message board, of how Ole Miss is always on MSU fans' minds. Point taken.

What the 17 was this^^? That last sentence was basically exactly what we've been talking about. So, Your post is the last one I've seen like that.

By the way, you always want to talk "irony" and "signs that show what bothers people".....well, does it show what bothers you when you spend multiple hours on SPS to argue why people make fun of Ole Miss over here? You are seriously a dumb mother 17er to be on a State board trying to tell MSU fans they are bothered by Ole Miss. If you can't see the irony and spin you are putting into effect just in this thread, then you are truly clueless.

Trust me, I am laughing just as hard at you over here trying to show "irony" while making all of your posts on a MSU board, as I do the fans that claim LSU as their real rival.

DE C.J. Johnson, DT's Issac Gross and Woodrow Hamilton, safety Trae Elston and cornerback Wesley Pendleton are likely to be held out this week vs LSU
Mcready said he thinks the odds of them playing this weekend or even making the trip to LSU are slim to none but said they will be ready to go next weekend.

Too hurt to even make the the trip this week- but they will be fine for the Egg Bowl huh? Nice chickenshit move- save those guys for us while their teammates are getting beat down by LSU- their real rival. Cant believe you hold those guys out in a rivalry game like that.
Nice chickenshit move? Look asshat, at least Freezus doesn't act like a sour faced **** when someone brings up injuries. Freeze has been consistent with the media by being receptive to questioning all year long. I can at least appreciate that about the man.

You do realize that many coaches are the same way about injuries.....they just don't have as many douchey beat writers that try to hurt the program for a story instead of helping it.

ETA: And, Mullen has been consistent with his stance on injuries.

Oh really? Give him a year or two more.....

...especially after having to deal with the negative ******** the media in Mississippi calls journalism. He'll hate those mother ******* come 2014.

Not sure what any of this has to do with Freeze holding out his players though. It is indeed a cuntastic move.

Yes, but most of them have a sack and when they say interviews over and get up to leave the room, they leave the room. Most people have to respect decisiveness like that. But what everyone saw that day was an immature jerk begging to be coddled back because he realized most adults saw him for what he is, right then.
