This is just bad take... Lol

People are mad because they didn't get what's they wanted? When has GoT ever been about giving what people wanted but telling us an amazing story? (Oh btw, I'm getting most of the prediction right....the problem has nothing to do with who is winning or who is bad ... It's content that's lacking. )

What GRRM was doing and what the show is doing is completely opposite.

BTW grrm's 6th book is called "winds of winter" and 7th is called "dreaming of a spring." So you think white walker isn't a big part of story? :joy::joy::joy:

In fact GRRM had made it clear the white walker is one of the three major conflicts in the show.

Also the show has clearly made it good versus bad now. Which is opposite of GRRM. It just one step at a time defined who is good and bad and moved forward with it . Until then plot armor.

Just terrible season

never said the white walkers werent.. said 1. Night king is not in the books...... and 2. they arent the main story. the main story is about the Throne.

You can both enjoy a show, but also point out some unwhelming aspects of the writing. I agree with those that say the writers have hastily tried to cram too much into a short period of time....

For example, I have no problem with Arya killing the NK, but the death scene itself was pretty lame. The show spent considerable time (all the way from the first scene) building up the story of the NK and the White Walkers. The NK dies without revealing any substance - maybe even a short dialogue with Bran at the end would've been sufficient to give us a bit more.

Same for Cersei, as her death turned out to be more about Jamie's character arc in the end. After 8 seasons of Cersei being a merciless ***** to everybody in the Seven Kingdoms, she gets the softest death of just about any character in the entire show. I guess it was symbolic that her castle came crashing down on her and her brother....but, overall, her death was unfulfilling and it's not unreasonable to have expected more.

Exactly. It can be both entertaining and a let down at the same time.

I love that someone created a Chuck Lorre account lol. I was just about to recommend some of these posters should just stick with big bang theory

The problem is 10% of a show doesnt work for people here and they want to burn it at the stake and call it a failure.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Had a great conversation last night on a conference call with Benioff and Weiss congratulating them on their success with this show and for their future work on Star Wars. They are going to be great for that universe. Disney and all Star Wars die hards should be very excited.

You see, they now know what I've known for a long time. What is "good" writing? Well, I'll tell you what it is.

It's a yacht off the coast of Fiji filled with the finest whores and cocaine. It's a penthouse in Manhattan with a crystal spiral staircase leading to a rooftop infinity pool filled with more whores. It's a shelf full of Emmys for Big Bang Theory and Two and Half Men, sitting right next to a nice big mound of nose candy. People often forget that I even wrote the theme song to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. What?

Anyway, my point is, and I told them this last night...who cares if people hate it? Who cares if people find endless inconsistencies in the plot progression? If people are disappointed in a character's evolution that seems to have been reverted at the last second for nothing? Who cares if Tyrion, who was crafted to be one of the smartest men in Westeros for the first 90% of the story, was turned into a mouth breathing idiot for the end like it never happened? Who cares if people think Varys committing suicide by idiocy after decades of survival through multiple regimes doesn't fit at all? Who cares if Jaime has a real hand while hugging Cersei in the scene where they die?

They don't and shouldn't. They now have boatwhores....and that is what truly matters.

False. Big Bang Theory.

Just as many people loved it as hated it.

Also I dont give a flying f*** if Jamie had a real hand in the final scene of his. Mistakes happen in every show...every movie. Go on reddit... they'll show you the mistakes in those shows and movies. Bring it up to the GOT guys... they can fix it for the DVD.

there was a guy in jeans 4 seasons ago in a battle. you tear apart the show now but didnt then ? Shut the f*** up hater.

10%? It was great till they ran out of material. Noticeable drop off since. Extremely rushed despite that not being necessary.

It's still good. Maybe even really good. But they had a chance to do something extraordinary

well sounds like its GRRM's fault then doesnt it

and they did something special......... its called Jon has to kill the woman he loves.. a plot development that is pretty damn epic if you stop and think about it. all those visions dany got... the seasons of people trying to get her to not just go full out attack and kill everything.... its been building up to this epic conclusion but people want to focus on Jamie and Cersei not getting a more bloody death

Wildcat-in-STL, I was agreeing with you, sir. Except for the statement at the end which I proved false immediately by referencing my award winning TV show Big Bang Theory.

You seem intent on white-knighting for Benioff and Weiss which I am sure they find admirable. You're a good soldier, and I am the god of tits and cocaine.

Dude is about to lose his **** because people are critical about a show....on a message board.

[roll]

Not even close......... I'm just letting you know how stupid you are for expecting a show to be perfect. You lost your sh*t because a fantasy show didnt give you more zombies. LOL that someone that disagrees with you means they are losing their sh*t.

you and 4 others are on here being whiny beotches because a few minutes in a couple episodes didnt work for you. What you guys have turned into is beyond critical and straight into bashing / hating territory.

those two show runners are the ones that got the show insanely popular to begin with. are they not? you going to let 2-3 episodes ruin everything? thats insanity.

I thought the Battle of Winterfell episode was incredible, btw. Sure there were questionable military tactics, etc but just incredible film-making. I like that the Night King never said anything, too.

It is the rest of the writing from this season and a lot of the last that drives me nuts.

like what? I didnt like Jamie and Brienne getting together. it was cringy fan service. I think Jon could of said goodbye to Ghost....... I think Jon should of at least clashed swords for a minute with the night king.

But 90% of what they did worked so i choose not to burn everything down for a few things I would of done better.

The one thing I do think didnt work was how Dany didnt need an army to begin with. Her on just 1 dragon took care of almost everything. that was due to the show being rushed. makes no sense but 1. it looked cool and 2... I liked more than enough in the episode to make up for it.

Lol that's the one thing?

Not the fact that she was flying around after forgetting about Euron and got one of her dragons sniped, but couldn't take out the fleet with her other dragon while they were all sailing?

Then she was able to take out the entire fleet while they were all waiting for her?

That's after she wanted to meet Cersei to negotiate for peace so the people would like her and Cersei didnt just kill her right then? Or Tyrion? And Dany didnt take that opportunity to scorch Cersei?

Then after meeting with Cersei to trick the people into liking her, she killed everyone anyway?

And with the entire ocean, Euron happened to wash up on the shore at the exact place Jaime was at that exact moment? And he still had enough energy after swimming in the ocean in loose fitting clothing to fight Jaime? And stab Jaime twice but he was able to walk it off?

Etc.

Felt like that was done to show that in fact Cersai’s people would not fight for her and were there out of fear.

Oh i do. But you can still utilize dialogue. Much like how they did in the battle with the Night King. Doesn't have to be a ton.
Acting is like Jazz. It’s the words you don’t say that make the play.

Also, color me surprised that you don’t use ‘tonne’

I mean, if this doesn't prove my point..... You have 11 posts on this single page, which is about the same as *everbody* else combined.

Beyond that, I have no f*cking clue what you're talking about. I pointed out two scenes I thought were underwhelming. Not exactly wading into "bashing/hating" territory....[eyeroll]

The euron thing was beyond abysmal. Even forgetting the complete disservice to that character, how is anyone to believe those two stabs to Jaime weren't fatal?

Number of posts on a page huh? I'm sorry should I of just made one reply quoting everyone at once? some do it but I dont usually like that ... I like 1 reply with one post.

god help you if you are judging sanity by number of posts on a page.. seems extremely petty.

Yes, that's actually what you should do, they even created an entire feature just so you could do that.

Or... not feel the need to respond to every single post.

Just wondering if I'm allowed to respond to you?

What the hell does it matter? If I condensed it into one long post its still the same amount of words to reply to everyone. Lets be 100% honest...... Some of you are HELL BENT on hating on the show and me disagreeing and trying to talk sense into you guys annoys you. thats whats getting to some of you .. not the number of my posts.

Let's move on and post some of our favorite things about this week's episode.

I liked how through the whole show the dragon's fire breath was like a normal dragon fire stream you know and then in this last episode the dragon is able to produce an F5 tornado sized column of fire out of it's throat that was pretty neat

they did a good story writing technique where the night kings blizzard power made them not be able to see anything on the ground where the white walkers were.......... and then I suppose they'd say dany didnt want to hit her own men later on. But honestly they should of just pointed the dragons head down and just went crazy with fire outside the walls........ friendly fire is acceptable when saving man kind

Cat in St L be like fans that idolize Cal after a loss .... in full defense mode .. lol

I'll defend what I think is right. In case you havent noticed I've also given a few critiques as well.

its hilarious how people want to censor others when they disagree........ You either hate the show now or if you like it.. you're only allowed 1-2 posts a page some how. I've made many posts on same pages before and had no one beotch about it.... kind of funny how the complaining comes when its disagreeing with what that person thinks .

Hey dipshit, there's no "right" or "wrong" when it comes to watching a television show......[eyeroll]

AHHHHH man damn it.. you just went over the post limit per page . Welcome to the losing his sh*t club .

Also when I see you guy say things thats just you misunderstanding the show and not seeing it from the creators view point... I consider those type of things right and wrong. if you didnt like it ... thats fine... if you loved it like I and others do. fine. Its all subjective but many things being said is just people interpreting the show in a wrong way. Like people thinking Dany's turn to madness was sudden and bad... no that way of thinking is wrong since we've had it foreshadowed for seasons now.

Crazy to think a few seasons ago the Mother of Dragons imprisoned two of her dragons over the death of one child.

This season she flipped her lid and roasted 50,000 children in a few minutes.

her father went mad just as fast though. thats what inbreeding does .... dont believe me?.. travel to West Virginia lol .. I keed .. I keed

This season has been visually stunning and a lot of fun to watch. That's it, though. Anyone who thinks the writing and pacing has been above a 10th grade film class is delusional. I understand it's fantasy and just a show, but it is still disappointing to have characters we've invested in for 7 seasons become two-dimensional cardboard cut-outs. Before this season, I felt like I had an emotional attachment to certain characters - Dany, Jon, Arya, Stansa, Jamie, Tyrion....but after these 5 episodes, I don't even care anymore. That sucks. And it's made even worse by how evident it is that D&D just wanted to get this over with and move on. Here's what's really pissed me off...

  • Stop with the "Dany has always been that way" crap. No she hasn't, not like this, where she murders innocent men, women, and children street-by-street. Yes, she has been focused on the throne and on destroying anyone who gets in her way. That's why it makes NO sense for her to ignore the Red Keep, which contains Cersei and the Mountain, the two responsible for beheading Missandei, and instead take the time to kill innocent civilians who are NO threat to her whatsoever. [eyeroll]
  • So, Jaime is stabbed, spitting up blood, barely able to crawl to his sword, essentially dead, then suddenly kills Euron, hops up and hikes on over to the Red Keep in order to die dramatically in Cersei's arms, which is completely counter to his entire "redemption." [eyeroll]
  • What good is Bran, other than sitting there looking like Granny in "The Outlaw Josey Wales" making mysterious faces and vague comments. Die already. [eyeroll]
  • Speaking of "die already," Sansa. Maybe it's Stark-fatigue syndrome, but get that perpetual scowl off your face, keep secrets, and stay in your damn lane. [eyeroll]
  • Has anyone, besides Jon, become a bigger ***** than Tyrion? This season 8 Tyrion would've seen Tywin on the pot, closed the door shamefully, and begged his pardon for intruding. And he wouldn't have snitched on Varys. [eyeroll]
  • Jon loves Dany and doesn't want the throne. Ok, so enjoy the benefits of banging the queen and get the hell out of the way. [eyeroll]
  • So Dany, Drogon, and Rhaegal, hundreds of feet in the air, get surprised by the stealthy f'ing IRON FLEET and Rhaegal, again flying hundreds of feet in the air, gets killed by multiple precision-fired scorpion arrows mounted on moving ships on the sea, then Drogon dive bombs the ships, deftly avoiding every single arrow, then flys away without so much as a puff of smoke. Then a day or so later, Drogon destroys the Iron Fleet in a matter of seconds, then destroys every single scorpion in King's Landing before the soldiers can even get a shot off. [eyeroll]
  • Arya, badass faceless chameleon jedi ninja master: "I'm finally going to kill Cersei, top on my list forever."
    Hound: "No. It's dangerous."
Arya, badass faceless chameleon jedi ninja master: "A'ight. Good point. Best wishes."
    [eyeroll]
  • I want Ser Devos on the throne. He's the only one whose death I MIGHT care about.
