Nothing more annoying than when the refs call a foul every single time there’s traffic or a contested shot. Just ridiculous

I’ve never seen a game with the fouls so lopsided. It’s not like SHU isn’t going to the basket. 30 attempts to 10. Ridiculous.

With that like 5 minute stoppage disappointing to not have a play called and instead use our final timeout

I rarely fault refs. But they are awful. USC will probably be ranked Monday so not exactly a bad game.

I think it’s obvious we’re good. I think we can get towards the top half of the Big East

seened lije usc didnt miss a **** forc10 minutes. abd whether tge refs were bad or not, they hit their fts. kw took too many chances pkaying someone with 2 fouls in 1st half and today we got burned. didbt lije that decision. we showed poise and tied it. but not to be.

We were not getting any calls down our end.
That fantom foul in the closing 30 seconds was just an awful call. Makes you wonder
Agreed. My problem isn’t necessarily the amount of fouls called. But rather how quickly the refs were blowing their whistles. They absolutely wanted to call fouls and weren’t watching closely.

Refs called a foul every time USC went to the basket and also missed some calls for us. We seem to run out of energy, a bit, in the second half. Still, we came back. Hope we have enough desire and energy for tomorrow's game. Clark was good.

Agree. Thought for sure a 3 pt shot would be the play selection there.
I believe it was drawn up as either / or.
He subbed in his best three point shooters and was going to force USC defenders to help off of their best pick and roll offensive combo.

if Payne was open Clark takes the pass for the two to tie.
If they were too aggressive on any kind of help they were going for the win with a 3 point attempt.

31 points for USC from the line. Doesn’t really feel like a loss considering they basically scored on uncontested free throws much of the second half.

The out of bounds plays when it’s that close are usually always reviewed regardless of challenges available. I don’t get that

Going to Payne wasn’t the play. Sha said he wanted Clark driving it.

But that’s the play that presented itself.

Should he not have thrown the pass to a player who was behind his defender for an easy 2?

The USC player made a great play to deflect the pass, which should have been thrown further towards the basket. Then we get the tough out of bounds call afterwards

If Sha wanted Clark to drive the ball, then he shouldn’t set up the initial pick and roll action that occurred. Because USC jumped it trying to take the ball out of Clark’s hands.

I wouldn’t have had Payne on the floor in that case. Spread the floor with 4 shooters and tell Budd to go do his thing.

We definitely fouled too much. The problem is USC never was called for any fouls.

OFF the leg non review in an era where everything is reviewed was an Egregious Error. The game was on National Television. The foul in the corner was puzzling. USC deserved to win, but that was atrocious officiating with so many bailouts.

The Clarke 3rd foul, his fault changed the way SHU played defense almost the rest of the game. Hopefully, that loss wont come back to haunt us. Aside from that, very proud of the team. Finally, we are back to high IQ basketball players instead of nonsensical guys still learning game experiments.

Exactly. That’s why Sha needed to get Clark out when he picked up his second foul. bad job by Sha.

I thought it was a reasonable decision by Clark. But for a fine defensive play it would have been a dunk similar to the one Payne had a couple minutes earlier. And, we should have retained possession.
