I’m starting to believe he can’t. Last year our defense at its best was top 50. He needs a defensive coach. Boot Jason Hart IMO. Also, what does Alvin Brooks do? He was brought in to be a recruiter, who has he landed? Get a defensive guy on staff.
Apparently they only scored one 3 against Arkansas…Our 3 pt defensive woes continue from CCC to Pope
The scout would have you keep Mich St out of the paint and let them shoot. So far, they have made them but let’s see if they can keep it up
Right on queue a bad 3pt shooting team all of a sudden shooting lights out.
With the whole 4 games we've played, 1 against a p4 team, which we lost and gave up almost 100 to?
Yea, you really got me there.
I'm beginning to wonder if Pope knows how to coach defense. YIKES!
Our D has been a problems since Pope has been here. He MUST get defensive coach on our staff.
U know......I'm a big believer that if you want to play well 3 pt FG defense, running them off the 3 point line is more important than the %.
Last year and this year under Pope teams shoot a crazy number of 3s against us. Even Michigan St who while they don't hit a bunch ......also normally does not take a bunch.
The fact that they are taking them to me is more signficiant than the actual crazy % they are hitting at.

Garrison is gonna be this years "I hope he picks up fouls so he has to sit" kind of player. We seem to have one of those every year recently.
Defense looks like hot garbage again
Garrison can’t be in this game. He can’t guard or score.
Garrison isn't even trying to rebound. Get his a$$ out
Beginning to have some serious questions about this team.
Yep. MSU, statistically at least, is a horrible 3-pt shooting team. Far more dangerous in the post. Pope obviously told guys to double the post against certain guys. Unfortunately MSU looks like an offensive juggernaut and is not playing like they have in other games.
5-point hole and a brick by Jelavich now 7-points
We are DICKFINGERING to a 9-0 run
We are DICKFINGERING to a 9-0 run
I am wondering where that elite, cutting edge offense is also.
9-0 run.
I don't know what Pope is working on in practice but it sucks.

Michigan State is quicker than us. So was Louisville. So will be a lot of teams.
Teams look completely unbothered against our defense, it's like a practice walk-through. This will be the third straight season of this crap.
This team is pure CRAP right now
We have a massive problem on both ends. Our defense is just schematically terrible.
Our offense now is just running freelance everything.
Not good.

No way BG and Jelly should be in together. This lineup is just…woof.
