the year we played Clempson in the Peach Chick-fil-A bowl. We went 9-2 that year and UGA went 7-4 if memory serves. That was also the year we started 8-0 and had 3 or 4 last second wins.

are going all-out and boycotting Carrabba's, Bonefish Grill, Roy's Hawaiian, and Cheeseburger in Paradise. Otherwise, they're just posers.

I ate at Bonefish grill for the first time last Saturday. I would rather eat at Captain Disease. The food was horrible.

Now Cheeseburger in Paradise is a different story. I have to eat there at least once everytime I go to Destin. All the rest of my meals come from AJ's, The Crap Trap, and Back Porch.

at Bonefish. It is an appetizer, but I eat it as my meal, and it is 17in outstanding.

They are pretty damn good, but I had some soft shell crab for my meal that I just couldn't eat it tasted so damn bad.

I've been told the best dish at Bonefish is actually the pork chop. Go figure. PF Changs actually has something called Dynamite Shrimp that is on par with the Bang Bang Shrimp. Basically, I'm never wasting another dime in Bonefish.

if youre not eating at Dooey's of Destin while in destin, you are sorely doing your vacation an injustice! And to eat at the crab trap AND the back porch in the same trip is like eating at cici's pizza and pizza inn in the same week, theyre the same thing...

The Bang Bang Shrimp is a great dish at Bonefish...my favorite meal there is a the 6oz Filet Migon, Lobster Tail(best lobster I've ever had) and the mashed potatoes with asparagus and a glass of red wine to go with it. Perfecto!

And last year at a basketball game Byrne was hosting representatives from the Gator Bowl and he had them put up on the big screen.

I'm sure all that went out the window though *sigh* I miss Byrne..

We had the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer. At first it was really good, but the sauce on it started gettingold. It was one of those foods that the more I ate, the less I liked it. The main course was horrible. The best thing on the plate was the mixed veggies, and I'm not a big veggie man.

Yep. It was a stuffed fried softshell. It was soggy, luke warm, oily, and had absolutely no flavor. Any crab flavor was completely drowned out by the batter that... well, as I just said, was soggy and oily. The best way I can describe it... bland and mushy. Honestly one of the grossest dishes I've ever had at a restaurant, and it was their special that night.

I've never heard of Dooey's. I'll have to check it out next time I'm there. Crab Trap and Back Porch are more of a tradition for the wife and I. We're mostly found at AJ's eating the steamed platter for 2.

there is no Bonefish Grill in Ridgeland, unless one secretly opened up and I didn't know it. There IS a Bonefish Grill in Madison.

Bonefish is my favorite chain in Jackson. I totally pig out. Bang Bang Shrimp with the Crab corn lump chowder as an appetizer, and then the salmon- last time they had wood plank salmon, which was awesome, and the key lime pie for dessert.

Wasn't that the year we went to the SEC Champ game? Yeah, the SEC-runnerup always get the Peach Bowl, right? /rolleyes

was the year we won the West. 99 was the year of a screwjob against Bama and a total letdown against Arkansas. Good thing an identical late-season sputter hasn't happened since.

The payouts for the Outback and the Peach were virtually the same (I think $1.9M for the Outback vs. $1.8M for the Peach), but the Peach was in a much better time slot for TV and also much more convenient for our fans to travel to. The Peach Bowl is easily the most underrated of all the bowl games.

I don't think it was as much the payout as the fact that we'd already been to the Peach Bowl twice that decade and we have not played a bowl game in Florida in most of our lifetimes. With the way that the then Citrus Bowl was pretty much taking Florida or UT every season, the Outback was our best shot for something different.

I know lots of people who love the place. I know lots of people who say they'll never go back. Never met a person who said it was ok.

That's because the Outback traditionally takes an East team, and sometimes Auburn, because they're virtually an East team by location.

Since the SEC tie-in in 1995, the Outback has taken Auburn twice, Bama once, and an East team 12 times. Before taking Auburn this past year, they had taken an East team 12 years in a row. I don't think they were snubbing you. The Citrus/Cap One will take a West team more often, because they typically just take the best team remaining after the BCS picks over the SEC teams.

With the Gator now in the rotation too, you'll probably see more West teams make it to Florida bowls though.

with whatever positive perception a Bonefish may have and its distance from the ocean.

It's good seafood, for those who don't have easy access to great seafood.
