After 2 hard fought victories against 2 really good teams The Raiders have another great team this friday. First home game should be a packed house and hype. Hopefully 19 stays away and we have another great game.

I think Richie got this one... not by a lot... but I still say they walk away with a W. Gotta keep the pressure on all 4 quarters, if not Gibbons steals one...

I gave Richmond the big cajones award for their early season non conference schedule. No cupcakes and said they could very easily be 0-3 to start the season. Two tough away games and now 2-0. Confidence has to be soaring and first game at home on Friday. Gibbons won't be easy but Richmond by a touchdown.

After two very tough games injuries play a big roll. If RC is at full strength I give them the nod but they could be pretty banged up for this game.

Well if you make any mistakes Gibbons will take advantage. They rarely leaves points on the field so RC better be efficient on O, win the field position game and make Gibbons go the long road. The front for RC needs to be all over the qb and be able to do it without sending the house.

I don’t see Richmond winning this game unless they have learned are will learn how to play all 4 quarters & cut out the penalties . I think I heard one person talking that one guy had 4 face masks that’s just crazy , I could understand if it was from different players but one . But hey they won the game either way and I am happy.
Question how many guys from CG are back from last year ?

Gibbons is loaded they picked a big time prospect out of The Sanford area that will be a power 5 player. He plays tight end and edge. His name is Brock Chappell. The qb is back the secondary and the tailback plus some of the lineman. Not a lot of drop off.

Richmond isn’t the same team they played in the spring.

They are not the team in the spring had more talent. So richmond better be prepared. The qb seems to be more comfortable and that's key. Rc needs strong qb play to be dominant..it starts there.mif Hood is in the zone that's gonna be huge..if he struggles like he did in the spring this will not end well.

Talent doesn’t always translate to wins (ask Hough). They seem to be more of a team being that they went through a normal summer and worked together. They may not be as talented as the previous 3 years, but they’re not slouches. Hood is key, though, and the offensive line. If they can get the running game going up the middle (not horizontally because Gibbons is too fast for that), I think RC can control the clock and come out victorious.

Hopefully, the weather is warm, the crowd is huge, and Raider Magic is in the house!!!

Hood made some Houdini plays to keep them in the game against Butler. How often can the Raider Magic work in a season? We’ll see!

That may be true but in the end you need some Jimmy's & Joe's.

We will find out if Richie has learned anything since their last meeting. Will the Richie defense be able to defend the multiple formations that CG has? Has the Richie offense evolved into something rather than up the middle. We shall see on 9/3!

Playing Butler will help Richmond vs the multiple formations CG will run. Their best bet may be up the middle and will have to pass more down the seams because CG is a fast defense. Should be a great game.

The Raiders will have to play a complete game. Chambers was up big and Gibbons almost came back and won that game. I think the Raiders will win at home, but it’ll be close.

Gibbons success against Chambers was their passing game. They finished with 328 yards in the air. Run game, not so good. 49 yards rushing.

I hope the coaching staff reminds the defense about the running backs coming out of the backfield running pass routes and look upfor the ball must get pressure on that big qb but that opens up the screen game gibbons is great with play calling and yes please have more plays than up the middle.

I see this all the time and get so confused. What play is it that Richmond runs "up the Middle" is it the trap, the Iso, maybe Inside Zone, could it be Power, Dive, or maybe even the Counter or Wham play? Also, is it directly up the Center's butt crack, you know "the Middle" or could it actually be off to the side a bit like A, B, or C gap, is it to the left or right "middle". Please help a brother out and tell me which "up the Middle" play are we talking about? Obviously you guys are smart and have coached and/or watched a lot of football so i know somebody will be able to help me, thanks.

This will come down to play calling. Not much separates these two teams. RC has got to get pressure with their front 4 if not its going to be tough to hold CG in check. CG just needs to keep hood from looking like this years hood and more like last year. That will be a tall task as well.

Maybe I got these Wake County eyes, but Richmond looks the same as they did 7 months ago, but not as good out side defensively and offensively (CB/WR). They lost a lot in the slot.
CG lost a beast on DL but looks like they fixed it with depth. Their weakness is the secondary. Unless max preps is wrong and the games I saw last year… only number 1 and number 2 are back from the spring. Chambers tried to confuse them and did a couple of times. Their offense seems to be good with 23 doing a good imitation of the all star they lost in the slot last year. Gobbons did more than play Chambers tough of the box score right chambers got some breaks too on a couple of fumble recovery TDS early to get a big lead. So I guess I see the same out come as 7 months ago.

The the young hood qb looks like a stud, with speed and swag. Believe he follow in his brother footsteps and play RB at the next level

DaMouth says this; I admire the heart that Richmond showed.. They kids played hard.. But I think these kids are getting cheated because of poor preparation. Raider secondary was torched all night just like in the spring game. Raider offense was once again one dimensional just like in the spring game. This game was a carbon copy of last game. Do the coaches not teach pass defense? Do they not teach the passing game? It was my first Raider game this year and I can’t believe they won the first 2 games.

Hard fought game tonight we had our chances but didn't take advantage. We will learn more from this loss than some teams scheduling cup cakes for wins. On to Southview

I don’t believe it’s the coaches fault! I think they are working with what they got . Do we have talent yes a lot but some of them not out there they like the street life better . Sad but true . What we need is more coaches caring about these kids like our coaching staff does . If good people don’t start talking to kids about the street and where it’s going to get them Richmond want be talked about as much the coming years. I have much respect for the players and coaches they work hard and played hard.

Up the middle is kinda like what we saw tonight. Can’t stretch the field horizontally or have a adequate passing game. Resulting in a loss..

This offense is stagnant and predictable. I almost miss the old shotgun triple option pre 2015!
