Don't play a lot where overall net score is used. Always hole by hole, skins/teams. If you've been playing a long time with same group, adjust the handicaps.

HG2 was awful.

What the hell has happened to Louisville public golf. The greens were never GREAT but this is shameful

Charley Hull trying to run Yamashita down. Has been a fun Womens Open

Only two LPGA events I regularly watch are both Opens. Kudos to AIG for stepping up to the plate and sponsoring the British version. Purse now nearly $10M, Hull got $772K for T2, not a bad week's work. That course in Wales looked really cool and Charley is not hard on the eyes either.

Great win for Young. He doesn't move the needle in terms of flare and galleries, but he's obviously a hard worker and would love to see him take this to the next level.

Has a top ten in every major championship - top four in three of them

Would not be a bad choice for Ryder Cup

I question him under pressure. It was such a blowout yesterday he was never challenged or stressed.
Won't be like that at all at the Ryder Cup.

Young as a rookie shot 31 on the back nine (65 overall) in his first British to lose by one shot. This inc. an eagle on the final hole, but was bested by 1 shot as Cam Smith birdied it (he shot 64) He finished 1 shot out of a playoff earlier in the year at the PGA.

Winning your first tournament on the PGA Tour when you have had 7 runner ups eliminates all questions about playing under pressure.

I am not the statistician you are, but 7 runner ups might also bring into question playing under pressure.
Dude, he won't be playing in the RC against Meissner, Hubbard, or Amateur Koivun.

Congrats on winning, but that was about the least stressed Sunday any winning player has ever experienced.
Like I said, RC is night and day different. Hope he is selected and does well, but it is not ridiculous to question how he handles pressure.

You're putting the RC on a very high and unwarranted pedestal in regards to the stamp it puts on ones career. Great event, but it doesn't make or break a career and will be forgotten as soon as the new season starts up. Young just had a life changing event take place and handled it very well. He would be a great pick to be on the team.

Need some new blood, the older, "veteran" guys sure as hell hasn't been the answer. I think Ben Griffin will do very well, he has that cocky, go for the kill attitude. He doesn't seem to flinch in the moment and definitely doesn't lack confidence.

My 6 Captain Picks : (IF Keegan decides NOT to play)

JT ( he is still doing good things)
Ben Griffin
Cameron Young
Maverick McNealy
Wyndam Clark
Chris Gotterup ***** - I know most will be against this one, but the dudes form right now is as good as anyone.

If Keegan plays, omit Wyndam Clark.

Let the Youngbloods have a crack at it. They are the future anyway, might as well get a head start on it. Honestly, they are playing better than some of the vets as it is.

How hard do you think it is to play in the RC and also be the captain? I'm not sure it would be that tough. The captain is the only one that can offer advice to all the other players. But what exactly is he going to tell Scotty Scheffler and Bryson? Hit it long and high, and make your putts? And make sure you beat the other guy? Got it.

He has to make the lineup, but that's gonna be done the day before for the most part. He can always sit out the second day if necessary or the first session at least.

If Keegan thinks he deserves to play (he does IMO) I think he ought to pick himself

Sure, but the Captain's get absolutely lambasted as is when they lose. If he picks himself and he goes 0-3 or something, there's no coming back from it.

Very true, but he is a big boy, has to make the decisions one way or the other and live with the results.

Did a stay and play at Heartland Golf in E-town this weekend. Group of 16, mainly scrambles with varying tees, rules, etc. While the course is nothing to write home about, it was very enjoyable. Never need to get in the car once there. You can bring your own booze to the course. They'll provide ice to keep your cooler cold. 6th and 9th holes finish up at your condo so if you need to reload, you can do so.
Good bar food.
They have upgraded there facilities with an indoor putt putt, light up driving range, not quite Top Golf, but table service.

All I know is it's time for the US to start winning more RC's. I am tired of the good ole boy system. I want guys who are playing well right now and have an extreme desire to beat the Europeans. The PGA needs to start developing more of its younger talent and there are several guys who would get a major boost from the RC.

Using this thought process, then Scottie choked as well with a bogey on 15.

Fleetwood missed by one shot, and that could have been a result of any one of a number of shots throughout the day. Rose caught fire, and Spaun dropped bombs again.

He didn't choke. Choking would have been if he had a 2/3 shot lead with 4 to go, and bogey 2/3 holes coming in. Rose and Spaun was just better yesterday. Nothing to be ashamed of, they just got hot.

So it's winner take all at East Lake. Doesn't seem right but I guess they're going for maximum viewers.

Scottie has already received his big bonus for winning the regular season.
The bonus for winning the Tour Finale has been reduced to $10 million vs $25 million last year.
To be in the top 30 only qualifies you for a shot at the $10 million. There is no longer any stroke advantage to start the round.
I think he'll be alright.

  • Comcast Business Tour Top 10:
    .
Scheffler earned $8 million for finishing first in the regular season standings.

  • FedEx Cup:
    .

He received $10 million for leading the FedEx Cup standings.

  • BMW Championship:
    .

Scheffler earned an additional $5 million for maintaining the lead in the playoff standings through the BMW Championship.
