My guys were very fortunate to squeak out a win last night. In 40 years of watching them I've never seen a MSU team so depleted from injuries and it took all they can muster now to slip past what I think is a valiant Rutgers team. I like your team and Caroo is a tremendous receiver. Good luck the rest of the way.

Thanks. Your receivers are not bad either. Some absolute incredible catches by them last night to keep the chains moving. Cook is a great QB.

Their receivers made some great catches and Cook had near perfect placement on a ton of those passes. The INT was probably his biggest brain lock but just about everything else was good to really good.

I was surprised how effectively Rutgers ran on you guys. I also think injuries and over-confidence on the part of the Spartans made for a close game. Love Dantonio as a coach. Good luck the rest of the way, particularly next week.

MSU dropped the ball twice in first half. Both should have been caught. If they were, MSU had 14 extra points. They caught all of them in second half.

That being said, I think MSU will use these two tough weeks to help them get through hard ones later in season. I believe this game is giving a hint next year could be a strong one for RU. We have the pieces, just need to put them together.

Just for the record Rutgers is depleted as well.
Our entire secondary was kicked off the team ( barnwell, boggs,Stephenson, peele) and our best payer on the team after carroo, Darius Hamilton is out for the year...And we have a other guys out as well..

Appreciate the compliment but injuries happen everywhere on all teams.

Thank you and good luck the rest of the way for your team.

FYI RU is heavily depleted on defense with many dismissals and a season ending injury to our best DL and leader, Hamilton.

After hearing over and over allusions to the game being close due to MSU's injuries, I'm happy to see someone finally make this counterpoint. Thank you.

As a Rutgers fan I'm very proud of how hard the team played and the energy the brought. Some of the passes cook threw and the ridiculous circus catches by the receivers were damn near unguardable. I think both Carroo and Cook will be very rich soon.

Cook is amazing and your WRs are crazy good. Some of those catches were just sick. Being able to hang with one of the B1G elites sure gives us hope for the future. Hopefully, the elite recruits that were there last night feel the same way.

Good luck with the rest of your season.

Wasn't impressed with MSU. You have at least 3 more losses coming and a big slide out of the top 10.

Maybe but until it happens it hasn't happened. Michigan state has lost 3 games in the last 2.5 seasons and two of those games last year were to the two teams that went to the NC game.

That was an oddity in that game, some flat drops on some easy as can be balls and then catching everything else that was anywhere near a receiver.

That play by 85(I think) where he jumps a solid 3 feet off the ground? Made it look so easy, but dude was skywalking.

And yeah MSU is banged up, but we knocked em around pretty good too. I'd say we were the more physical team last night.

We hate to lose but MSU won this one. That last drive summed it up. They had a QB who stepped up, WRs who stepped up and RBs who stepped up and the line was solid It was an impressive winning drive considering that it was late in the 4th quarter. Don't ever use injuries as an excuse since that is part of the game.

Michigan State is going to get beat by Michigan...who would have thought Michigan would be 5-1 and looking very tough...

It seems very possible and unless osu really puts their offense into high gear michigan might beat them, too. It should be fun to watch a renewed series of epic battles between ohio state and michigan. I only wish our program would get good enough to be able to have something even a fraction as interesting.

I know MSU was sooooo depleted! Can you imagine if RU had to play with a defensive backfield of true freshmen, without our best D Lineman, best running back still recovering from an ACL and no headcoach.... oh, wait.....

Doesn't hurt that their QB got two gimme calls with the intentional groundings which led directly to two scores. The explanations we got from the ref's we're quite asinine. First one no intentional grounding do to the QB being hit while in the act of throwing. Look in the rule book there is no exemption from intentional grounding for anything like this. He has to get it close to a receiver the act of being hit while throwing has nothing to do with it. They made it up on the spot. Second watch the replay there was no one in the same zip code as the pass. Both non calls were atrocious and led directly to this loss. Pretty easy to win when the ref's are on your side and ensure drives continue.

I noticed when good team play and they aren't playing well, they always mention new first year starters and injuries. There are never any mention of Rutgers new players or injured players by the TV analysts.

The anaysts were MSU homers. Just listening then when MS U do something positive . For Rutgers it's just well how about that. And it was our home game too. Where was Shaun O'Hara?

We are the newbies. So we have to endure traditional B1G referees and TV announcers. But Rutgers is demonstrating that we are a conference member who intends to earn our own respect within the conference. If we earn respect, it will stick.

Or the fact that our starting secondary is sitting in a cell.

Our 1st and a lot of our 2nd string secondary transfered out and are now playing for the Mean Machine.
