Gruden MAY be a decent college coach, because he's had experience at the level, but I know that would never happen, nor would I think it would be worth the amount of money we'd have to pay given that he would come with some risk. We'd probably be looking at a $5M deal for someone like that, and it wouldn't be worth it to spend $5M unless you had a sure thing. He wouldn't be.
Dungy I really wouldn't want, at all. I don't care that he coached the Colts. That doesn't mean he'd be any good at the college level, and I can think of a good number of reasons to think he wouldn't be. He falls into the Kirby Smart category for me, a name that a lot of media would like but a name that wouldn't result in nearly the impact that people would want.
That's just my opinion. You don't have to believe me if you don't want, but I'm clearly not the only one that thinks Dungy would be a poor move.
ETA: On the Meyer thing, while I've heard that there is a lot of money that they're going to be willing to throw at this deal, I don't think Meyer would come for any dollar amount for two reasons. 1) He's going to hold out for one of the Top 10-20 elite type jobs, and 2) I don't think he wants to coach in the SEC again even if he would be willing to come.
