Hopefully next time he's on tv he's wearing the Block R

I spoke to Brian Leonard at a tailgate before the Rutgers-MSU game in October. I specifically asked about the chances of Schiano returning to Rutgers. He said unequivocally that Schiano would never come back because there were too many factions with too many agendas. He also stated that there was a better chance that he was in Coral Gables next year.

This probably is about as close as you can get to the source. As I stated in another thread, don't see Schiano on the Banks anytime soon, if ever.

Add in that Schiano next job..if it's a HC job will be very important to him in his career. He failed in the NFL as a HC, if he takes a HC job at a college...i'm sure he will be looking for a place where there is complete support that corresponds with the expectation level. That's not the case at RU right now.

It's apparently also not the case at Miami nowadays, particularly with regard to getting an on-campus stadium and other facilities. It's main advantage is the local recruiting base.

Schiano wants nothing to do with RU again barring a new administration.
What does current admin have anything to do with it?
Barchi and Hermann were not here....if anything, he has an ally in Brown on the Board.
So, I don't know where your quote is coming from...I guess it just sounds more dramatic.

The list of college coaches who failed in the NFL is pretty freakin' large. So many people around here make it seem like Schiano was a total bust in the NFL. He basically did about as well as to be expected with the team he had. Don't forget, Tampa Bay was WORSE in the year following Schiano...

Admin doesn't support football. Compare barchi and Herman to mulcahy and McCormick. Enough said.
