Clutch play in the last minute- awesome. Refs liked to call fouls. Payne and Simpkins were great. Clark excellent running the show.
We need some work on foul shooting, although Payne made two free throws at the end. Great win.

I thought Shaheen let Clark sit too long in the second half. Almost came back to bite us. The team needs to be more consistent on the line. They could have put Providence away had they hit their free throws. But overall a tough win and way to shut down a high octane offense.

He wanted to get to the under 8 timeout, but given how Parker could hardly even dribble and nearly turned it over every single time he touched the ball, I agree. But gotta give Sha credit. He had a plan and stuck to it. Budd was aces in the final minute. What a game. What a team!

The team played together like 4 yr veterans.
S.H. was lucky..foul shots usually win or lose game...missing 10 foul shots is a lot to overcome.

Good win for Willard and Big East in OT at Wisconsin. Sets us up for a nice Christmas present.
Willard still running the same end of game offense…have one guy dribble
Out the clock and then take a contested fade away jumper at the buzzer.

The biggest thing for me was that this was only our second really tight game that needed to be won in the final few minutes (Wagner score was close, but I'm not sure they ever had possession with a chance to tie or lead late) and we didn't get it done the first time, fair or not.

Last night, our offense actually looked the best when it mattered most, after struggling most of the evening. That ability to step up and make a play in crunch time is something we haven't seen much of yet because we haven't needed to, but it was great to see there because we're going to need more of it to get the Big East finish we're all hoping for.

There are certain things this team brings every game that has been their trademark even when they struggle in some areas. Last night:
- Unselfishness-13 assists
- Defensive - 11 steals
- Rebounds: + 6 advantage

Despite
- Only 1 block: No Hines and Payne had to play a different game.
- Despite the 11 steals, they did not finish most of them.
- No Hines and a 1-8, 4 point effort by AJSM.

Considering it was their first BE game; away; at a tough arena on an emotional night, they never looked flustered even when Providence had runs.

Excellent points. Not having that Hazel or Powell type player takes away from one guy holding the ball for a bail out shot down the stretch.

If I were to offer 1 criticism, we need better free throw shooting from Budd to elevate from a good team to great one. He's vitally important to us and will obviously have the ball in his hands at critical moments... If he can become an automatic 2 at the line, we become a lot harder to beat.

Also, first time we got punched in the mouth a little bit early OR at least did not do the punching out of the gate as has been typical.

This group plays so well together. They are poised and fluid. It's refreshing.

Still wild to be enjoying a team like this in this era after last year. 11-1, 1-0 NET 36 with 3 solid wins away from home already. Wow.
