Liberty was down to their 4th string QB at one point in the season so I do know this Liberty team is depleted with injuries. Their RB was airlifted Friday night from the game due to a serious leg injury. This will be a long ride down and back for this team. Game will be over fast.
GW by 50+ after seeing several of OCBoy's posts. Glad GW gets a game to keep up what they have going right now. It would've sucked to beat a team of Magna Vista's caliber just to have an off week and lose momentum. Can't overlook Bealeton, but they may as well start preparing for Champe. Should be able to play the starters the first half and let some of their JV players get some reps.

I have to admit that GW should win here but they don't play teams like this. Even when decimated by injury, Liberty will be the most physical squad GW has played all year. The Eagles will punch them in the mouth and then punch them again. I expect GW to start strong and build a lead but have to hold on here. 50+ is absolute la' la' land. Believing that makes the SportsHead want to tap into HoosFan's Rose Colored Elton John sunglasses collection.
You must not understand what Liberty is going through this year. This team is a 180 from last year and will not be the most physical team GW has seen that's ludacris. An average EV team hung 47 on them
So what has changed? Are you saying GW is down?
For Liberty to do all that they will have to be 100% healthy. And forgot to mention they have turned the ball over all year long
Unless GW has no defense at all....there will be a running clock in the 2nd half....GW wins big
And that's the point. GW has no defense against a pound it down your throat team. Triple option, hurry up. They WILL have problems. They cannot score when they do not have the ball.
No disrespect, I have GW in this game but this is not the blowout folks think. I don't care if the JV takes the field for the Eagles, the Liberty program is punch you in the mouth football. They have pride and will perform well, no matter kids they have on the sideline. IMO.

Wrong again my good sir. Magna Vista is about the most physical you'll see here in VA unless you're in the 757 area but even MV wasn't as physical as this team.
Yes...they have been a pound-it-down-your-throat team...but not this year. The hammers they're pounding with are not that good this year....you'll see
Don't think you're familiar at all with GW's team this year. This is just like me saying that since 2a Giles County runs the single wing to perfection and that even though they're playing Lake Taylor, they're going to automatically go into the game with an advantage even though they're out manned and just don't have the talent to compete... You have 3 and 4 people who are familiar with Bealeton's team saying it won't be close and that Bealeton's not the Bealeton of old.

Just like they earned it against MV. Not. They were fortunate. Like I said, they should win Friday but it won't be the blowout some think and LB is a shadow of themselves.

Well....I have never seen GW. But I'm assuming they have a high-powered offense? If so, they will score 50+. I don't see Lib scoring much.
I was riding with you on this until I looked them up on NCPreps.. Vance finished lost five of their last 8 games after beating GW to finish the season 6-5.

Devils, I was riding with this Vance team also until I saw they lost to North Mecklenburg..I can see the lost to South Pointe (perennial powerhouse in SC), Mallard Creeek (perennial powerhouse in NC), Kannapolis Brown is a toss up but then an "elite" team doesn't lose by 3 scores to them, and Hough is always good, but North Meck? I guess it's safe to say Vance is /was big time overrated. They were picked by many to represent the west in the NCHSAA 4a State Championship this season after losing to Charlotte Catholic last year in the state semifinals, but I guess a.) they couldn't handle those expectations b.) they just wasn't built like that c.) O V E R R A T E D. I think it's a little of all 3. Still was a good early season test for GW and was better than playing PH-Roanoke, Amherst (sorry but Amherst wasn't performing at the level they are now at the beginning of the year), and Person (NC), who GW would've had the running clock in the first half. Also to this team's credit the talent pool they play in Charlotte, hell the whole state of North Carolina, is usually head and shoulders above Virginia, with the exception of your usual top 804 and 757 teams. Still this team is 6-5 and finished 2-4 in their conference....Not good at all.

I've not seen one list ever that puts North Carolina "heads and shoulders" above Virginia.
Here's my reference points, among hundreds of others, all ranking Virginia at the same level or above North Carolina...

Look at the talent level in NC..It's dispersed a lot more evenly there than it is in Virginia. I mean look at 2a Northeastern..They took (IMO) arguably VA's top 3 team in all of classifications to the wire. No i'm not basing that particular game to prove my point but more in reference to say that no 2a nor 3a team could do that. I mean you have teams like Southwest Onslow, Shelby, Reidsville, Tarboro, Northeastern, go up to 3a for Northern Guilford (down this year but has 5 state championships this decade), Asheville, Southern Durham, Shelby Crest, Havelock, Eastern Alamance, West Rowan, AC Reynolds, Scotland, Hillside, New Bern, Richmond, Dudley, Mallard Creek, Butler...I'm sure I've missed some but peep the different geographic locations. NC's talent level isn't limited to just one classification nor one specific location.
Oh, so your argument is that as long as we get rid of all the top players in Virginia, THEN North Carolina is way better.

I'm lost now..My point was the talent is way more distributed throughout region and classification..This doesn't hold true for Virginia. Never said VA doesn't have the talent, but it's definitely centered around certain locations.

I'm gonna disagree.....I think high school is 90% about coaching....I don't believe that talent only exists in certain areas. I've NEVER seen a great coach go somewhere and not win because he just didn't have any talent. Great coaches develop players. If Mags went to Manassas Park they would be winners in 2-years
CulpGrad and you're right it does come down to coaching and also whether the kids buy into the program.

Wasn't my entire point, more of a statement, but I'll give my reasons given above again to support that argument also.

The whole state of North Carolina isn't head and shoulders above Virginia either on an individual talent level or team talent level. Take a look at the number of D-1 scholarships out of each state over the last decade and you will find they are relatively comparable. Take a look at the team rankings, USA, max preps, etc. and you will not find a substantial difference. Take a look at GW's performance against the state of N.C. and for the most part GW has been a decidedly mediocre team from a State of Virginia perspective since the late 1990's. Finally look no further than the "stellar" performance turned in at GW by Jimmy Teague who was a perennial top coach in NC. IMO you are totally off base with that statement.
Hasn't Danville only beaten 1 team with a winning record in Va? I mean they won last week but other then that what signature wins do they have?
True statement, not much signature wins , but look at Liberty - Lost to Woodgrove, EV, Chancellor, and Courtland. No signature wins either. Those games were not close.
