Winter is cold and after Christmas is loses its charm. The best part of winter is college basketball

Fall is fun because you have pumpkin patches and fall festivals and college football so there's always something fun to do in fall :sunglasses:

I have no clue what to think about Louisville's squad this year. How could anyone? What a motley crew. He will actually have some shooters so I suppose they could be pretty good.

They were on track to be CBI bound before they picked up Lee & Lewis, who Pitino has already said are the "only two" players guaranteed to be starters -- aka, their best players. Pretty fortunate pickups.

They will be a solid tourney team if I had to guess, but certainly not a contender (or borderline) like they've been pretty much every year of late.

Up until the Wichita State game, the 2014 Kentucky basketball season was pretty f'n miserable. Huge unmet expectations and the line of media people dancing on the grave of the Calipari Era stretched around the block. Lot of revisionist history on this fine August morning.

February SEC games usually blow ***. Last season was the exception to this rule because they were chasing history, so there was value in winning all the games, but it's typically a no win scenario. The Cats gain nothing from beating some ****** 12-14 team, but if they lose it crushes them in perception/computer rankings. Then it's compounded when that same team turns around and loses by 15 to a 5-19 team later that same week. Infuriating.

"Normal" winter in Kentucky isn't great, but it's tolerable. The last two winters haven't been anything close to normal. It was -19 degrees at our house one morning. I didn't sign up for that. That's Minnesota, not Kentucky.

1. Fall

-Nice job on the second-grade essay, Rax.

-[laughing] at GYERO's regular weather argument.

-Trying to work from home today. Just can't do it. Too many distractions.

-Guess I've been sleeping on Kris Dunn just a bit. College basketball coaches say he'd be the one guy they'd add to their roster. I knew he was talented, but I guess because Providence has just kind of hovered around the fringes of the Top 25, I haven't paid as much attention.

The guy had about 75 turnovers against us in Rupp last year.

He's very turnover prone, and can't shoot a lick. He's really good, but him being the #1 choice is indicative of the crop of returning players more than anything.

Give me Ron Baker. :fire:

That post was pretty positive, actually. Laughter at the weather argument. Complimenting a basketball player. I did make a statement about my difficulty working from home, but that was just kind of an observation, not really an opinion.

The only negative thing in my post was my critique of your FALL IS GREAT IT IS FUN THE LEAVES CHANGE COLORS I LOVE FALL THANK YOU post. And even in that, I tried to frame it as a compliment so you wouldn't get your feelings hurt.

BitchRax indeed.

Good luck Chad, I have had many types of sickness but sea sick is the absolute worst and won't leave until you get back to flat ground and lay down for a bit.

The winter of 2014 here in Louisville while we took our losses in conference and every anti Cal detractor here in town was throwing a dance party on his grave was a dark, dark period for me. Was working crazy hours & stressed out. The lass had hit a wall with her residency. That winter weather was brutal and seemed never ending.

The Sunday after the S Carolina loss when Cal got the boot the lass basically told me to get my ish together with a quickness. Lost it after that loss. 2 years of losing and disappointment.

I swear to each of you that run when we beat Wichita, UL, and Michigan was nothing short of a religious experience for me. Yes, that makes me unbalanced but the amount of satisfaction I got from it was a surreal emotional feeling for me. A rebirth of happiness if you will.

I can get more **** done at my home office than at my actual office. A lot fewer interruptions at home.

My situation's different. If I close my door at work, people pretty well leave me alone, and I can get a lot done. But here, I've got TV, and I can just look around at the house/yard and get distracted by all the stuff I could be doing. Plus the fridge repairman is here, so I've got that racket too.

But hey, I can't complain! I've got my health, a roof over my head, a loving family, a steady income, a great church, and I live in a terrific small town. Lovely weather this week, football right around the corner, just all kinds of positivity going on around me.

These UL tweets about everything Teddy does in Minnesota are annoying, and just as annoying as every g-d place in Lexington all of a sudden becoming a Browns sports bar circa 1999.

-I don't write for a living and I'm not asked to be anything but a fanatic or homer. Just a little dose of reality and objectivity would be nice.
touch that. everyone who covers UK football deals in reality and brutal objectivity. what's wrong with Freddie being our one and only homer out there? every other team has blind homers in their media covering them, waiving their pom poms constantly, never a word of negativity or adversity all positive all the time. thumbs up to Maggard and to Mags52 for giving him a forum. besides, he isnt a complete moron homer predicting 10-2, seems like everyone else he thinks we have 6 or 7 wins. And the defense will be a dumpster fire, we will have to win 40-35.

I enjoy the seasons myself, I've actually gotten to where I would rather fish in the winter than the summer because you don't have the dipshits on their jet skis and morons in their oversized boats blaring terrible country music and sitting on the best fishing spots.

> 95 degrees sucks
< 25 degrees sucks

I can deal with either though via the miracle of changing the amount of clothes I'm wearing. There is no correlation between enjoying the seasons and hating extreme weather.

Like Maggard bc of his football knowledge. He speaks the language.

Let's face it.. Most UK intelligent fans in general are very knowledgable of the game of bball but the vast majority don't really understand the game of football. Maggard does. He's the best KSR has had since Gidel.

In hindsight, ol' CM was exactly RIGHT to go after a guy like Mumme. He had the right idea.

April's the best for what? Weatherwise:

1. October
2. September
3. May
So we basically like the same months except I prefer Summer over Winter and you don't. That's not so bad. So I won't burn all of our pictures and delete you from my life.
