"So my father, who thankfully had a sense of humor, had to have a detailed phone conversation with a nun from school about why his son was using his penis to type."

That dude was screwed from the start. Big name family in the county and when their other child was killed in a 4-wheeler accident just days after their daughter was killed..... His fate was sealed.

And I believe the son was killed after attending a memorial for his sister. Brutal.

Theoretically, you could have Christmas or Thanksgiving in 80 degree weather, but they wouldn't have the same "magic." Same with sports, particularly college football and college basketball. I suppose if you've done nothing but watch these sports on TV you wouldn't tell any difference, but for those who remember fondly attending the games in the elements, I don't see how you can separate the weather from the experience. If I mention walking across campus to Commonwealth Stadium on a crisp sunny Saturday in the fall colors with the sounds and smells of tailgating in the air, most of you can identify with that and know what I'm talking about. And to us it equates to college football. Having the temperature in the 80s and wearing shorts just wouldn't be the same. I love the change of seasons and the sports that go with them. Fall is college football. Winter is college basketball. Spring/Summer is golf. Summer is baseball. These are universal truths.

Oh, it's that family. Yeah, that was crazy.

Looks like he's a meth dealer and had some other DUI's. I half assed looked for the whole story but didn't find much. Not losing sleep over it, I just didn't think you saw Murder and Life for DUIs very often.

Stone cold lock the DUI statute is amended next legislative session to extend the enhanceable period from 5 years to 10 years. Too many high profile DUI deaths recently.

July is awful.

Yeah nice weather and all, usually when we go to the beach or Disney or whatever the damn. But also zero sports, no 1st run TV shows going, no blockbuster movies released. and it is the end of the 2nd quarter, so more work than usual for us CPA types slangin' debits & credits.

I've never seen life for a DUI death, but I'm not all that familiar with the legal system. Shoot, the guy who killed all those kids in the bus crash didn't serve all that much, relatively speaking of course.

But, after what all that family went through and how well they were known in the area (not that it should matter during the trial), he was done. Especially it being kept in Hardin county.

You can be charged/convicted of wanton murder for a DUI fatality in KY depending on the facts. Most of the time it's charged as a manslaughter, which I've always thought sounded worse than murder, but carries much lower penalties.

Seriously though, try saying it: "man slaughter".

Hit up Nashville over the weekend for a bachelor party and played the Hermitage Presidential course. Nice track but it seems more suited in Louisiana or Florida. Bogs, marshes, swampland, etc...whole course was a wet sponge. Humidity was off the charts. Still a huge summer honk, tho. Will take it all/air.

Tootsie's was a zoo but that little back bar on the 2nd floor is a gem. No one is ever back there and it's easy to sneak in and get a quick drink and get some space from the madness upstairs (SORRY KINDLY).

- Really good write up on CBS about Willie. Hadn't seen it linked yet.

-The pics of my boy Dorian Baker kills me. He's a freaking monster. Hope he kills a DB this year coming back to make a block in space.

- Think we win 6 games. Defense has too many question marks and unless Ware is some kind of demon we will have zero pass rush. DJ better be creative in his blitz packages because we're going to have trouble getting to the QB all season, IMO.

Its not the sunshine pumper that irks me about Maggard. I am perfectly cool with that.

He was hired to the spot to provide football material. Tell me about the permanent switch to the 3-4 and how Kentucky will best utilize it's personnel to attack spread offenses.

Explain to me the differences between N Brown's air raid and S Dawson's version, pros and cons of both. What packages and schemes best suit UK's spread to move the ball against more talented defenses?

That is what I expected when he came on board.

Not reliving the Jerry Claiborne days and talking about Jerry Rice's motto if you look good you play good.

This is as important of year as any for Kentucky football. Fans are dialed in and expecting a winner with the dedication by staff and administration (stadium renovation).

Show us (or at least sell to us) why this thing will work.

His name was Larry Mahoney. I remember because it was one of my college nicknames. We had a date party at the Blue Moon one night, after its over, walk out and get on the bus with the other 150 drunk co-eds. The bus driver had exited the bus, and took his sweet *** time. 150 hollering co eds didn't change that. As I'm getting on the bus several bus patrons encouraged me to get this thing moving. I jump behind the wheel, and drive that thing about 100 Yards before stopping. Got in a seat before fat bus driver could run the 100 Yards. And hence the name Larry Mahoney.

That makes no sense. Mahoney wasn't driving the bus, you idiot.

Geno Smith was punched in the jaw in the locker room and will require surgery. Out six to ten weeks.

Just in case you were wondering what will be discussed on ESPN around the clock for the next four months.

I don't think the new logo is much better or worse than the previous logo or the one before that which was more upright. Until the K stands alone, it's all about the same.

That's some straight talk from wcc. Keeping it real on CatPaw since 2001. Ya heard.

I will say I enjoy the day to day recaps from the local beat writers on training camp practice. Just a few blurbs on what guys are practicing, who's doing what, etc. Give me 15-20 minutes each morning and I feel caught up.

See what I did there? 15-20 minutes. That's all I need to know if Marvin Jones is healthy, what did Tyler Eifert break now, who's fat. That's really it. Anything more than that is just unnecessary imo.

Got to be one of the craziest injuries that have been for a starting nfl qb.
