That's who Cal said is guarding him.

Mathews was supposed to be a dog on D. I have yet to really notice it.

Willis gets after it. He's usually in good position, and his skin tone allows him to surprise the opponent and get his hand on a lot of balls. Statically, he might be our best player right now with deflections, steals, blocks.

Meh. I've 34 I'm not the least bit interested in being trendy, although I don't wear any of those brands listed. None of that **** fits me.

Neither do any of those Brooks Bros polos you've been flossing for years. Those guns need a bit of circulation, bub.

North Florida, who upset Illinois opening night by draining 17 threes followed up the performance with a 106-84 victory against Texas Pan American by again hitting 17 threes.

34 threes made in two games [laughing]

They play @ Louisville Saturday

#9 for the Lakers has been crossed up like that a couple times already this season, also has a hilarious behind the head 3-point attempt to try and beat the shot clock, he is apparently getting a lot of clock over Russel.

If the 1st Kentucky player you think of when you think about Kentucky-Duke games is Dawg Carruth, you pretty much suck as a fan. He has his place, but come on...that's terrible. KSR, get your act together. Jack Givens, Scott Padgett, and Cameron Mills think that's unforgivable.
I can't hate that kid. I was going nuts when Dawg was dawgin, too.

GAMEDAY SHORTs:

- [banana]

- We need this win. I'm getting so tired of all the Duke ********. I hate Louisville, Indiana and UNC more, but the media gets down on their knees for Duke so quickly that it almost nullifies the difference in outright hatred.

- Haven't decided whether to take this one in alone or watch it with my buddies. My #1 spot is unavailable but my #2 spot (where I watched the '14 Wisconsin win) is. Decisions, decisions.

- RE: The Bengals

Not a huge deal. We weren't going undefeated and we likely weren't going to wrestle away homefield from the Pats. With that said, what a **** effort. Dalton was terrible but Eifert dropped three HUGE balls. And AJ Green fumbled yet again in the clutch. Oh well. Onto the Carson Palmer Bowl...

- Has amused me all year the credit Hue Jackson has gotten as OC. Reminds me of the sales guy who gets lucky and inherits a bunch of prosperous accounts and then gets credit for the big numbers he's producing. The Bengals have a 5th-year starting QB, two stud RBs, one of the Top 5 WRs in the league, two more stud complimentary WRs, a one of the Top 5 TEs in the league and one of the Top 5 OLs in the league. It would be hard to screw that up. His ridiculous Johnny Moxon formations never work yet he insists on showboating and throwing them out there 5x a game. That call in the 2-minute drill last night was awful.

- I can't believe we're stealing Bam. Dude sures up the only question mark on next year's team. He's a monster. His mixtapes are just stupid. What a class shaping up...

PG- Fox
SG- Monk ??
SF- Gabriel
PF- Adebayo ??
PF- Killeya-Jones

I mean...wow. Arguably 4 of the Top 8 overall...and another 5* riser in SKJ.

- Impressed by KSR's Nick Roush. Seems like a true dyed-in-the-wool Big Blue diehard. Enjoyed the Carruth piece.

- Haven't caught it yet but that Bledsoe/Knight backcourt must be a hoot to watch. Ironically, I've always felt both teams would've been better off if we could've traded '10's Bledsoe to '11 for Lamb.

- The LSU basketball program has been pretty mediocre forever, but their list of college superstars is up there with anyone's- Petitt, Maravich, Jackson, O'Neal and now Simmons.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to tell if they're any good at all until January because Marquette and Wake are far and away the best teams on their non-conference schedule (until the late January tilt against Oklahoma in the B12-SEC Challenge).

- Go ahead and rack me.:eek:kay:

We all were. Cameron Mills and Scott Padgett nailing 3s at the top of the key are a wee bit higher in the fan bank though. Just a bit.

Kid says he was 6 months old when Laettner hit the shot, so 6 years old when we beat Duke in '98. Can't blame his first real memory being Dawg Carruth's coming out party. Learn age.

My first memories of UK basketball...

Harden's halfcourter
Cawood referring to Kenny Walker as "Kenny Sky Walker"
My dad getting redassed at Joe B. Hall and cussing the TV (I get it honestly)
UK losing in the E8 to LSU in '86

All extremely vague memories, though.

Call me crazy, but I have a feeling that Tyler Ulis will be able to guard one of these fellas tonight. He'll find a way.

Biggest thing is keeping Skal out of foul trouble and watching the leg kicks on threes. The flopping on threes is a worse problem in the game to me than block/charge, especially now with the big charge circle, which is already making a difference.

Last night was like watching a recent UK game. Can't hate on the defense too bad and the Houston TD was a great catch. But the offense... ugh. Three turnovers, nine penalties, a UK game's worth of drops and those effers still had a chance to win until their best player fumbled the ball. Still- can't complain too much about 8-1, still in 2nd place in the conference and a healthy lead in the division. Need a good showing next week and need to get the OL healthy again- looking at you Titties Smith. Also wouldn't mind to see Jeremy Hill turn into second half of last year Jeremy Hill.

On paper it doesn't work, but Ulis is going to make it work. He'll figure it out. Tyler Ulis is the #1 reason I have faith in this team tonight. Tyler felt the Final Four loss more than just about anyone. He was the one who said "None of it matters" in regards to the 38-0 after that. He took that loss hard. He's in his hometown tonight. Probably plenty of family in the stands. He's playing the game that he knows damn well he should have been playing seven months ago. Tyler Ulis is going to ball out tonight, bet on that.

It's deeper than that. There are like 4 separate groups fighting with several bigger nations backing them. ISIS is just our most popular target. Russia I believe was attacking a group that is aligned with ISIS but not with us. Iran is in there as well. It's a damn disaster really.

Did a little reading on it yesterday. It's pretty convoluted.

- #1 reason I'm optimistic tonight: Jamal Murray. Kid is a big game player. I think he arrives on the national scene tonight.

- Odds BBdK couldn't sleep last night: OVER

- [laughing] @ Bengal Fan booing his undefeated team last night.

- How sick are those Memphis Grizzlies throwbacks?

This war has been going on for 1000+ years. And it's impossible to win b/c it's based on religion, and even worse, it's guerrilla based warfare.

Pretty much an impossible situation really. Let's just hope they don't get their hands on nukes.

My current basketball hatboggan is Ulis just dribbling around in the paint amongst the giants, patiently poking and prodding and looking for an opening. Steve Nash was the king of this and it is always delightful. A little dude waltzing around the turf of the big man and there's not a GD thing they can do about it.

This came out of NOWHERE. Until last night, I didn't think we had a chance in hell. Here we were looking at Allen or Bolden, and Bam completely outclasses them...AND has an awesome readymade nickname.

Plus, as Tom mentioned, NC has their best high school class in at least a decade and UK nabs two of the studs.

Just a sick class made up of ready-to-go studs like Fox and Adebayo (and hopefully Monk eventually) to go along with some dudes exploding up the rankings (Gabriel and SKJ). Toss in a role player like Wynyard and eek.
