So if I saw it correctly, it would cost $12mil to fire Stoops after NEXT year? I guess that basically guarantees him a 5th season, right?

Since its rare that we can get back to enough home games to justify having tickets and the pipe dream of moving back isnt a reality anymore, this was most likely my last season having tickets. The parking pass is the only thing that even makes me think twice. But with other expenses on the horizon- time to move on.

I don't think so. If he has this type of season next year or worse only wins 2-3 games(which is very possible) I don't see them having a choice. Attendance will be Joker level after basketball starts. They lose that opening game to Southern Miss... and watch out.

I actually think that Stoops has/had? a great plan. I think from a recruiting standpoint it really makes sense to hit Ohio hard. That was long overdue. I think they were a better coached team in the 2-10 year but really did not have as much talent. I'd really like to understand what is the disconnect. Something happened. I'm pretty sad because I really believed he could keep us at a respectable level. I'm talking the Rich Brooks level here and not the pie in the sky SEC champ level.

Its not totally Stoops fault. Really the fatigue has more to do with Joker than anyone. I've had season tickets for 16 years but that ends. Trying to justify paying $1600 and going to 5 of 8 games plus getting pissed off in 3 of those games is not my idea of fun.

I will still follow hard and hit probably 2 games/year but I'll catch the others on TV and be happy.

Got married, gave up my Bengals season tickets.

Had kids, gave up my UK football tickets.

Moved to Loveland, now sell about half of my basketball season tickets each year.

I still follow all things Bengals and Wildcats religiously. I can't give them up or stop caring. I just can't.

You can say you are "giving them up." But you can't.

In 135 days, we'll celebrate the opening of a new home for Kentucky Football. Today, I want to say thank you for committing to join us in The New CWS by renewing your season tickets for 2015.

Truly, your support is the reason why our program's future is so bright. With Coach Stoops' leadership, a dedicated and talented group of players, our new stadium, and you cheering us on, we believe this season will be a special one.

'til the Battle is Won,

The worst part about all of this is Stoops is a great guy. Very down to earth and personable. Even at a high end private dinner that Crystal and I attended, we were "the poors" of the group and Stoops and his wife went out of their way to make us feel included. Honestly, I love the guy. His passion for the program is real. Coach Brooks believes in him too. I want the guy to win so badly, I just don't understand why it isn't being translated on the field. My only problem is, I'm not sure that anyone can win here. I truly believe we are cursed. How else would a bunch of highly rated wide receivers simply forget how to catch the damn ball? Its a GAWD DAMN CURSE I tell ya. That's how.

It sucks and I understand the self-loathing that goes along with being a UK Football, but at least we have UK basketball. We have it better than most.

He's a first time head coach with a first time DC and this year a first time (at the D1 level) OC and an empty chair as special teams coordinator. Just too damn green of a staff, hence the clustertouch we are in every facet of the game.

hiring a young exciting upcoming coordinator was cool at the time....but clearly we needed to hire another late 50's/early 60's old guy who knows what the touch he is doing, and can hire coaches who know what the touch they are doing.

Great week for UK Fans.

A 21-year-old man punched both of his grandparents in the face in part because UK lost its annual football grudge match to UofL over the weekend, according to police.

LMPD officers were called to the 100 block of Blue Fields Road on Saturday after the football game. That's where Conner Karem "became violent after a brief discussion regarding salad," according to his arrest report.

The joy is gone. And right now, I just don't care. It's an empty feeling and I hate it. But it is what it is.

This is where I am currently, and I've never been here, not even in the Joker or Curry years. This team is just SO poorly coached. By the fourth quarter Saturday, I was getting perverse pleasure out of watching us implode. Seeing Dawson's smirk and Stoops's I-just-sharted expression went from infuriating to amusing. And the post-game coachspeak was comical. These clowns can't even get that right. "We’ve got to do a better job, but we’re going to do that. We’re going to go back to work. And we need to get a lot tougher in the offseason. It starts there. And it starts with the way we go about our business right away here in this offseason program." Jesus. That's what we get? Some vague ******** about getting tougher in the offseason, plus the dreaded "we're going to go back to work?" You know what? DON'T go back to work. That obviously hurts more than it helps. Why don't you go about your business of getting dry-pumped in the offseason, k? :football::boom::gun: I'm done with UK football.

Didnt think the pistol-whipper would be one-upped, but the grandma fighter takes home the prize.

LMPD officers were called to the 100 block of Blue Fields Road on Saturday after the football game. That's where Conner Karem "became violent after a brief discussion regarding salad," according to his arrest report.

After Karem punched his grandfather in the face and nose, he "proceeded to repeatedly punch his grandmother, even after she fell to the floor," the report said.

Karem suffers from seasonal depression and Asperger's, but is fully functional, his family told police. He was also upset because of the holidays.

The man left the home but returned after police arrived and began investigating. When Karem saw the officer inside the home, he spit on him, then later told him, "You're lucky it wasn't a gun," according to the arrest report.

No. Stoops wears true religion and has hair "issues". Not a good person, imho.

Go read an article from the press conference today. If Mitch were playing NCAA 2017 and could create a head coach it would be Richt. He is a great guy, does a lot for the community and I'm sure enjoys large buyouts.

Here is a quote from the AP article.. Mark Richt remains interested in another coaching job and said Monday he will listen ''to anybody who has interest in me'' as he prepares for his final game as Georgia's coach.

It's a serious question.

Former Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie was named by CBS Sports as a participant in a Ponzi scheme organized by an AAU team founder, which took advantage of college coaches. And according to a story by Sports Illustrated, Gillispie wasn’t just a part of it. He was the biggest victim. In fact, he contributed nearly double the money of the second largest contributor, former Utah head coach Ray Giacoletti. Here is who has been revealed to have been involved and what they gave to Houston Elite founder David Salinas, who committed suicide over the weekend.

  • Billy Gillispie (Texas Tech): $2.3 million

Regardless of the victim, losing $2.3 million is ridiculous. But it’s even more absurd when you consider this: Billy Gillispie’s contract with Kentucky was reported to be for $2.3 million annually over the course of seven years. If you assume he made the same salary every year, which is most likely not the case, he essentially lost an entire year of pre-tax salary in the scheme. Or, roughly 79% of his settlement money.

No, I'd say the worst part about all of this is going 1-6 to end the season, topping it off with the most humiliating exhibition of football futility I've seen in 42 years. o_O Stoops gets paid a ****-ton to bring us the exact opposite of what we've got. I don't care how much of a "great guy" he is; pretty easy to glad-hand the poors at a swanky private party when you're pulling in the kind of guaranteed cash he is. I have no sympathy for anyone who makes that kind of money to be a complete failure.

Arizona guy's girlfriend acts like my wife when I'm reacting to another 3rd down pass short of the sticks

Mags52's telling of his interaction with Captain Suntan today was great. Now I've got a reason to go back & listen to the Sat postgame show for more details.

This is the most logical post of the day. And isn't that on Mitch to make sure the right coaching hires are made?

I don't recall I've ever seen a D1 team line up 8 guys on a play. That just screams amateur hour. A few grizzled vets in the coordinator department would clear that up.

Can't imagine this is any worse than the end of the Curry years. Everything is magnified because we were so far down with Joker and really haven't had anything but false hopes to get excited about in the past 7 years. Stacking two poor coaches on top of each other is not a fun time for anyone.

No we're in the weird ****** period where we're stuck with a lame duck until we can actually replace him and then have to start to rebuild again.

-Going from top 10ish to unranked in a week is pretty impressive, Tommy.

-Lolz at Rick thinking this is all just about to blow over. Most telling sign is Tomma still hasn't said a word. "You ain't gonna Karen Sypher me!!"

Actually feeling a little Christmas-y this year.

Favorite Christmas tune: Baby it's Cold Outside - Bing Crosby and Doris Day.

Annual Christmas movie lineup:
1. Vacation
2. Christmas Story
3. Muppet's Family Christmas
4. Elf
5. Four Christmases
