Unpopular Takes Ahead!!!!!

-There’s nothing wrong with kids @cole854 IF you want them. I don’t and there’s no way I’d date a girl with a kid (if she’s a ten we can talk) especially if the father was still in the picture. Not trying to deal with paying for a child that’s not mine (that’s a discussion as well if I really liked the kid because I’m happy to help my boys out with their kids fundraisers and whatnot) or have her child’s father forever being around, just not for me.

Good on those that do want to help in that scenario, I’m a selfish mothertoucher like Terrance Jones and don’t want to do that.

-I really liked Wrestlers. If you’re not happy about the portrayal of Kentuckians well that’s the state we’re from gang and that’s what this state is made up of, we’re pretty poor, fat and ugly to be honest.

Like Matt said, thank God for Mississippi because it’s true.

It’s okay, that’s our state, why try to pretend it’s not because the groups you run around with have dental access, gym memberships and disposable money? That’s not the majority.

I think your “unpopular takes ahead” warning should have come before you posted that you liked small breasted women. This is GYERO for Christ’s sake.

If it makes you guys feel any better, “poor” people from Kentucky are richer than 90% of the world. The country I grew up in I only had carnation powdered milk. The first time I had liquid milk from a jug was when we moved to the states. You haven’t lived till you’ve drank milk from a f*ckin box.

Snagged both a Blantons and Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond today. Let the fall begin

I've not finished the doc yet, but my take on Wrestlers is that it's just pure sadness. It's one of the most depressing things I've ever seen.

I think Matt means well and tries to give Kentucky the shine it deserves, but it still comes across as exploitative. The common folk once again are nothing more than poor, uneducated caricatures while Matt is elevated way above all of that. I'm not necessarily saying that is his intent, but that's how it comes across.

The weird thing is, I haven't seen Matt as the villain people think he's portrayed as. He's been right when he's had to deal with those carnies. They would do well to take his advice when it comes to marketing to an audience. I've stopped at the seizure episode. I was aware that he had that condition, but it was so tough to watch. If he's still the "bad guy" after that, it must be a tough crowd.
The people that come to the shows are who they are. They are proud of themselves and their towns. How anyone else chooses to judge them is their choice. I personally like those people and want to give them a product that makes them happy. When we come to town, it’s usually more exciting than what was going to happen otherwise so they enjoy it

I had more fun tonight in our building with the crowd and wrestlers that were there than I would have at Norton Commons or the Lex Country Club. Others would surely disagree. But that is what makes the world go round

I do care what others think of Kentucky but if they are unable to see the Beauty of this place bc of their feelings based on poverty levels or appearance of those they see, then that’s a them problem. I still will do whatever I can to make entertainment an fun for the folks

Plus having a critically-acclaimed documentary that was my idea come to fruition is probably one of the proudest achievements of my life. And the excitement/pride it has given the wrestlers has been amazing.

Now we just have to try and make some money out of it to get our head above water

I’ve reads few articles about the show and listened to a couple wrestlers perspective and not a single one of them have mentioned uneducated redneck hillbillies.

The only people looking down on the people in the show are other Kentuckians not realizing the setting is irrelevant. You’d get the exact same crowds if you were in Maryland with a wrestling show traveling to festivals and county fairs.

Every time they showed a member of the crowd with no teeth, clear physical handicaps, just a fat unwashed general mess, etc I actually laughed. Then I realized I can open Facebook and half my family looks like that and I connected a little better with it.
😂 true. So true, in fact, my wife’s sister (and her family) were shown several times when they scanned the ‘crowd’.

She’s a teacher, btw. Not quite trailer park Tammy, but also not a banker.

Side note since most of my posts in here have been BTYFB related….my kid committed to Bellarmine today. Great offer considering the price tag and sport. D1 dad. Kinda proud.

Mine has an Official Visit for track there this weekend. They seem to be recruiting him pretty hard. And selfishly I’d like him to go there due to the proximity because his other officials are in Tennessee.
Awesome. I’m in Etown, so it’s a quick little 45 minute jaunt for me. Plus, they have 4 Florida schools in their conference. Will make for some nice little road trips.

And just an FYI: I was *very* surprised at the academic money they throw on top of the athletic scholarship.

Uh, there are surprisingly a lot of legit fights and drama in Norton Commons, Jones. And it’s always between rather attractive women. It’s like wrestling, but it’s actually real. I think you may actually enjoy it out here.

We must have a different definition of surprise, because this is not surprising to me at all. Bunch of faux upper class white women fighting is exactly what I would expect.

Pretty shallow statement, but I fixed it for you.

I’d hazard (#nocounty) to say if you drop someone outside of a major metropolitan area in any state, you’d be hard pressed to tell immediately what state you were in outside of some geography and sports teams affiliations.

We’re all simple folk. People of the land. The common clay of the new west. You know… morons.

As someone who’s lived in all parts of this country and has traveled all over this country multiple times, I can say without hesitation there are stupid f’n people/rednecks/idiots in every state.

I’m from KY and I look up to no one.

There are over 4k walmarts and they are in every state. This checks out.

Also, stfu rogue. HollyHood wants an elite chest game. No one cares that you like flat beefers.

Had to go to Connecticut for a few firm meetings, so fly into Hartford. Airport about half the size of SDF. Surprising for the states biggest city and wealth there. Hit up downtown to check out the sights and sounds only to realize Lexington has a more vibrant, busy downtown.

Drove through Stanford, Milford and Bridgeport and with how rural the towns were, you would have figured you were going through Simpsonville, Lawrenburg or Nelson Co.

All that to say is that outside of Boston, NYC, Philly, the rest of New England is as blah as anywhere else.

Best looking hussies per capita are born/bred in the Ky.
-Agreed for the most part until they hit 30 (not all of them) and it’s pretty downhill.

-And was my statement crass or deprecating, yeah probably more than I meant it to be, but @cole854 calling someone shallow is very rich.

-Driving from top to bottom of Ohio with my uncle the other week and I totally agree with UCL that Ohio is worse overall. Every gas station was a cornucopia of everything white trash could possibly be. Marion outside Columbus, if I remember correctly, is as the pinnacle.

I loathe getting sick when the weather is gorgeous yet here I sit coughing a lung up, hitting an inhaler like it holds the gift of life. #Dadlife

I'm absolutely living and breathing football at all levels right now between my son playing youth, my daughter dancing at middle school, couple of guys at the office coaching at Lex Cath, Cayts, and Bengals. It's all-encompassing and addictive.

Back-to-back weeks on the road in October; first Navarre Beach then Boston. Completely different vibes but I love it. Going to get my seafood itch scratched just in time to come home and start working on my chili.

The wife has now had two dreams in the past 2 weeks about me hooking up with someone else and I've heard about it for days. Why are they like this?
