- Can't remember a more purely enjoyable college football season, this deep into the season, in recent memory. And not just UK's 5-0 start...there are great games every week, intriguing storylines, and 8-9 teams who could legitimately win the whole thing. Just a fun season all the way around.
- Never cared for Thursday night NFL games. They were usually scrub teams, and it robbed us of having those sneaky-good ESPN college games. Now that the shield has scheduled games for each Thursday night (albeit on Apple TV or Tubi or Pinterest or whatever), the Thursday CFB games have been kinda gross. Seems like most of the solid matchups are now on Friday night, which just doesn't hold the same appeal.
- Despite our (my) best efforts to keep a clean kitchen, we just always get fruit flies/gnats this time of year. I've never been hunting in my life, but I imagine the thrill of taking down a huge buck is similar to the adrenaline shot I get when I watch a fruit fly enter the trap and breathe its last. Circle of life, man.
- Those shots of NYC during last night's Jets/Swifties game were a nice little appetizer for our trip to NYC this week. First time taking our youngest, and she's downright giddy about it. Of all the musicals she could have picked, she chose "Sweeney Todd"(KINDA CONCERNING), but the rest of our 72 hours should be pretty low-key. Can't wait for her to experience the energy of the city, and I'm looking forward to seeing it in Fall for the first time.
- Did we ever hear anything definitive about this big Euro kid? Or did I miss it?
- Always get goosebumps whenever a retiring MLB player gets his final ovation at the end of the season. Miggy's was fun, and it was perfect that he got the final out. Wainwright getting to bat so that he could get a final curtain call was perfection. Obviously the GOAT of these moments was when Jeter and Pettite went out and pulled Mo Rivera. None will match that.
- Working to get "failed" removed from "failed stand-up comic".
