Good for Votto. Seriously. I love that guy.

(and, if that's true about Schilling, he can DIAF while getting prison raped.)

(crossing my fingers that the rapists made it out of the fire okay)
I’ve notably hated the reds but Votto getting tossed his last game is actually awesome. That guy deserves to go out however he wants. He did the time on a really ****** team for two decades and got them back before he left.

Idk if you all saw Tammes social post but he said he loved yesterdays game so much because he felt he and a lot of guys were responsible for sucking up losses and trying to turn it around.

They did and we have. You HAVE to appreciate those dudes for putting in the the time and years. Makes me more pissed about seeing guys act like “whatevs”, not saying names but you know who, on this team.

When the game was winding down yesterday, and I was basking in an absolute beatdown of Florida, my thoughts turned back to my father and I, going to UK games together, and remembering the time that my stuffed shirt Dad, who was always the very model of decorum/waspiness, screamed (at the top of his lungs) at Cris Collinsworth, essentially telling him that he was a GD MF'ing cheating *** POS, right after he caught the winning TD in the East end zone, directly in front of us.

I didn't even know my Dad KNEW those words, and I've never seen him behave like that in the decades that have followed. He had an absolute ape **** breakdown for 15 seconds, and then... it was over. Never to be spoken of again, BUT, I felt a lump in my throat for him. Vindication of sorts. LOL

re: gambling

Through sheer incompetence, I ended up making about 86 dollars on money that I didn't even have to put up.
I think that I'm going to thank the universe, for looking out for a humble idiot, that blindly waded into an area of life he has no business fooling around with, cash out, and never look back/gamble again.
Yeah, that clearly didn't take.

The NFL is awful, but I've discovered a whole new world.
I had no idea that you can just bet, willy-nilly, all the way up until the end of the game. I just made fourteen dollars, making end of game bets, for instance, buffalo up 28 with 4 minutes to go, MGM adjusted spread is 27.5, Bills have the ball at mid-field. Chester slaps down 10 bucks on the fact they'll run out the clock. Winner.

That is FOUR AMERICAN dollars for the Clown. (but don't forget, that's just FOUR of my fourteen dollar haul, in the last few minutes)

Anyone have a real estate connection in Aruba? I might start looking around for a condo. Fat stax in Clown Town.

That’s how it starts, Clown. One free little bump here, one little free bump there and before you know it you are freezing your boogers for the lean times. (I stayed up until 1:00am betting FG Attempts, punts and TO’s in the Nevada/Fresno St game last night)

Y’all need to read Scarcity Brain by Michael Easter. He explains how tech companies, casinos, food companies, and sports gambling sites have cracked the code to get people addicted to things like this.

It’s so obvious on these betting sites that give basically free money. 1 50.00 bet turned into 200.00 on DK and they are constantly sending out props and “bonuses” and some deal if your team gets up 10pts at any time in the game you cash out. All it does is feed that jones and make it appear to be easy as hell to win money.

I the three “No Brainer” bets and used the 200.00 in bonus bets to get up a decent amount. Would have been possibly been more if I had known what I was doing that first day. Anyway, I’m cashing out all but about 20.00 which I will bet very small amounts fo just to have a little fun.

august-west, funny you say that. I wasted two of my "bonus bets", but the "accidental parlay" as it shall be called, from this day forward, netted me a really good payout.

The first thing I did today, was withdraw everything from my MGM account, save 25 dollars. That 25 dollars will have to last me for the rest of the NFL season, because I have no intention of depositing additional funds.

I don't have the attention span to bet sports on the regular. I'm in the novelty phase and frankly, I can already feel that novelty wearing off (even though that 25 dollars now has turned into 39)

When it comes to vices, I'm already chock full of them. No room for any more.

Okay PFF defenders… our highest graded OL yesterday was Courtland Ford with a 59.4. There’s no defending this ish. It’s complete trash.
They will regrade it a couple of times, I think OL is the last one go get finalized (per HOB thread about it).

Schilling can have gay sex and get beat with a hammer imo

Down in Santa Rosa. Listened to the game on the drive across the bay bridge and celebrated all afternoon with some michy ultras and chi chi’s margaritas. Not a ton of gator fans in this area but it’s always fun to flex after a W surrounded by other SEC fans.

It’s fun having teenage boys in the sense that I can drop the occasional dirty joke/swear word and to them it’s just a little extry funny. Saw some dbag drifting his lifted golfcart. I muttered a “whoa buddy save some ***** for the rest of us”. A pretty mild line for most cultured men, but the height of comedy to a 14yo. Felt good to get a laugh from him again. He’s a much harder audience than he used to be 😖

- Can't remember a more purely enjoyable college football season, this deep into the season, in recent memory. And not just UK's 5-0 start...there are great games every week, intriguing storylines, and 8-9 teams who could legitimately win the whole thing. Just a fun season all the way around.

- Never cared for Thursday night NFL games. They were usually scrub teams, and it robbed us of having those sneaky-good ESPN college games. Now that the shield has scheduled games for each Thursday night (albeit on Apple TV or Tubi or Pinterest or whatever), the Thursday CFB games have been kinda gross. Seems like most of the solid matchups are now on Friday night, which just doesn't hold the same appeal.

- Despite our (my) best efforts to keep a clean kitchen, we just always get fruit flies/gnats this time of year. I've never been hunting in my life, but I imagine the thrill of taking down a huge buck is similar to the adrenaline shot I get when I watch a fruit fly enter the trap and breathe its last. Circle of life, man.

- Those shots of NYC during last night's Jets/Swifties game were a nice little appetizer for our trip to NYC this week. First time taking our youngest, and she's downright giddy about it. Of all the musicals she could have picked, she chose "Sweeney Todd"(KINDA CONCERNING), but the rest of our 72 hours should be pretty low-key. Can't wait for her to experience the energy of the city, and I'm looking forward to seeing it in Fall for the first time.

- Did we ever hear anything definitive about this big Euro kid? Or did I miss it?

- Always get goosebumps whenever a retiring MLB player gets his final ovation at the end of the season. Miggy's was fun, and it was perfect that he got the final out. Wainwright getting to bat so that he could get a final curtain call was perfection. Obviously the GOAT of these moments was when Jeter and Pettite went out and pulled Mo Rivera. None will match that.

- Working to get "failed" removed from "failed stand-up comic".

We’ve been lousy with fruit flies and drain flies this year. I got one of those traps with the special light or whatever and it seems to pull those suckers in for a sticky doom.
