Exactly

Weekend of August 15/16 Power Rankings:

1.) Wife works all weekend. [banana]
2.) One week closer to UK Football and weekly sports [cheers]
3.) PGA Championship :golf:
4.) Club Championship/Final real golf of the year for me

...

17.) The fact that it will be 85+ for the 32nd consecutive week so everyone can swim/boat/bike/golf/yardwork. If not for the PGA, it would just be another boring *** late summer weekend while counting down the days til kickoff.

Love the current weather, but it doesn't make me any less excited/ready for Fall to arrive. #Seasons

On the weekends I'll typically get 45m-1 hr of "free time" while the kids "nap" and I always consider doing yard work or cleaning the house but 100% of the time I watch old episodes of curb and have a snack

Tuesday Takes:

- You can't separate the months and the sports for people like BBdK and me. I know the rest of you are only casuals, but we're college basketballs. August sucks because I can't wait for it to end so I can get to CFB. And the weather can be horrible. Jan/Feb aren't so bad because I get to watch UKBB 2x a week and talk about them 24/7. Learn sports.

- I will never understand the pronunciation of "colonel."

- Randomly DVRed something on Investigation Discovery and it turned out to be about the Trent DiGuiro case. What an interesting case. Dude gets shot at 4am by a guy over a squabble that happened 3 years prior. Never would've been solved if Ragland hadn't told anyone. Didn't know the girlfriend is in witness protection. Always hate the interviews with the parents on those shows. You can see the pain in their eyes. DiGuiro vaguely resembled a young 80.

- Watching the show actually triggered some college nostalgia. I know Waller/University/State are the big areas now, but I've always liked Woodland/Maxwell/Euclid. That's my favorite part of town. That's where my people were. Completely outclasses the other side of campus.

- Anth, a kid got shot and killed on Woodland last year, and the various shootings at Tally Ho. What planet do you live on? Just stay in Chevy Chase, bro.

- Favorite fruits? Gotta go bananas.

- Best buddy's bachelor party in two weekends. Fishing up at Lake Erie. It's his thing and we'll have fun but I prefer a more traditional bachelor party. His fiance is one of those anti-stripper heretics, which I believe to be ********. NO FIANCE likes strippers, but that's why it's a BACHELOR PARTY. I don't even like strip clubs, but women who put their foot down about strippers for a bachelor party need to get take stick from out their bottom.

QUESTION: If we're drinking all night Friday, how likely are we to get sea-sick on the boat? I got a prescription from the doctor. I have no idea how I'm affected by boats, but my dad was trouble.

That's 2 shootings in 6 years only one resulting in injuries/death. Pretty sure you don't want to compare Lexington to Fountain Square.

All I'm saying is, I don't understand how or why they happen right in the middle of the entertainment and business district. Not like that anywhere else I can think of. I actually love Cincy, I just like get a rise out of you all but it's certainly not just a "big city" issue.

-Can't imagine how awful basketball would be if I had to watch it in great weather. Oh wait... I have. It was equally as enjoyable. Don't confuse being college basketball fans with being a weather idiot.

How in the hell is Willy's oldest in kindergarten? Did she skip a few grades or sumpthin? Doesn't appear to have any Dayton in her either. Good thing Laura has strong genes, apparently.

Chad always gon' keep it :100points:. Rack'em

Almost feel like you **** would GIVE UP UK Sports just to have summer 365. [eyeroll]

Please move to Florida or NOLA, where it's 124 heat index right now, sounds perfect for you guys.

-I do not have a bachelor party in 2 weeks, not sure where you're getting your info.

[laughing] at Chad getting a precautionary prescription from the Dr. to protect his Bachelor Party drinking.

-College Basketball in the summer wouldn't even be close to the same. Just like watching College Football with sunscreen, melted ice/flat bourbon drank, and swamp *** isn't the same.

You have a very short memory as to how miserable those first few football games can be and have been in the past. Doesn't even feel like "Football" in those instances. Night games will help immensely, obviously.

Learn Seasons, especially as they relate to sports. This isn't complicated, folks. Embrace the state in which you reside.

Buddy's son is in town this weekend (he lives in Boston) so he's getting a bunch of us together to play paintball. Haven't played in 20 years but last time it was awesome.

August is just an AWFUL month for sports. Golf Guy is usually burnt out by then since he's been hitting the links multiple times a week since April. Even for Baseball Guy, the REAL pennant races don't heat up until September. And Football Guy is foaming at the mouth ready for the first kick-off.

- I just don't want to be puking starboard all day like my dad did.

- We all know who Anth is, so while I'm disgusted, I'm not surprised. But Richie- now that one really disappoints me.

Got no qualms with Maggard. He's obviously trying to pump out too many articles to fit the bill as the "football" guy of their site. Granted he's not writing for the typical Gyero maniac that follows it passionately and understands terms like 2 gapper, but there are plenty out there that will benefit from his insight. I think it would be fun if he would reminisce more on the "you had to be there" stories that every former athlete has like the one's we all get drunk and regurgitate with our old teammates.

So I guess in Ferguson on the anniversary of a riot you're supposed to get your neighbor another riot. Wonder how many years that happens before it's not chic.

I know he's the GOP front runner but if you're thinking of seriously voting for Trump, you are part of the problem. That being said, please keep him around for entertainment sake for as long as possible.

It's not sous vide but it's hard to beat a 6 oz of ground chuck grilled with some fresh from the garden tomatoes thrown on top. Dill pickle spear and your selection of chip (last night went classy with a random bag of funyuns in the back of the pantry). Hate that and you suck.

Damn you/bless you for the introduction to SimCity Buildit.

I drive through downtown Richmond on Sunday mornings on the way to church and it is amazing how different it is now than it was back in my hay day. I just don't know where the 18 year old Manchester man goes now to raise hell and threaten lives.

The past 2 winters have been awful. I guess that makes the warm weather seem a million times more enjoyable. Nothing fun about 2 straight months of freezing temperatures and 2-3 weeks of missed school. Bad situation for parents and people who work outside.

Yes, UK Basketball has at least been good to keep us distracted. But it hasn't been fun...

Auburn by 14+ in week 1. Should be a reality check for Louisville.

Agree on the Farley doc. And his little brother is about as spot on physically. I think one of the better revelations is that he only ever wrote one skit- and it was called "Puppy Lawyer," (wtf?) which according to Spade was scrapped immediately, and was terrible. Not sure of the quality of Second City now, but the times I have been its always been a good show. Tommy Boy is 20 years old, by the way.

Yeah, sports and seasons are tied at the hip. Signed -> Every team in the South, Texas and California. They're relevant to you and the sport not the actual sport. I could watch basketball the same way I do now in San Diego. Has absolutely nothing to do with my sports viewership. Other than making it miserable while at games OR on the walk to games.

PTI, how do you watch games in 65 degree weather in NOLA? No way you can even get a feel for the action with that type of humidity.

How big of a boat are you gonna be on Chad? I've heard lake Eerie can have some waves. The thing is, drinking and the medication you've probably been given (scopolamine) don't really mix very well. You also need to take it 2-4 hours before you get on the boat. It's more of a preventative measure.

Probably best to just party on.

Anth is a Montclair, can't believe you would call him a Chevy Chaser.

So Gyero lawyers, what's the deal with garbage pickers? I've noticed when I was downtown and out here in the burbs, people will go through your trash. And I'm not really cool with that. Granted I shred my documents that contain personal info, but it seems like that's still an invasion of privacy. The herby is sitting on my curb, not in a dumpster. Is it trespassing? Granted I'm not gonna come out guns blazing, but is there any recourse for this?

Oh.

Well I didn't grow up in the South, Texas, or California...so my sports memories/feelings as they relate to the seasons are weirdly tied to the weather/state that I've lived in for 36 years.

Football wouldn't be the same without crisp fall days or battling some elements from time to time. You can try to argue against that all you want, but you'd be wrong.

Keep dreaming & crying for a 365 Day summer though, I'm confident & thrilled that it will not happen. [cheers]

Where I live it is cold during basketball season. Not sure how it is in Chevy Chase.

all you College Basketball could get your fix by buying the grainy awfully produced internet only broadcast of UL's foreign trip. Only 9.95! Pitino said it is his most together close team since '87 Providence!

I have no clue what to think about Louisville's squad this year. How could anyone? What a motley crew. He will actually have some shooters so I suppose they could be pretty good.

To me, gross humid days in the 90s aren't that much better than a really cold day in January. And I like snow. And UK basketball- my favorite past-time- takes place in the winter.

Most of your UK Basketball memories from the past 2 seasons were from March and April. Especially 2013-14 season. The January and February games get pretty...let's hurry up and get to March.

Not true. I worship conference play, 2 games per week, trips to Chicago & NYC, & Christmas season.

I get sick of winter in January/Feb, but March is around the corner.
I get sick of Summer in Mid-August, but Fall is around the corner
I get sick of rainy spring once UK Basketball is over, but Golf/Summer is around the corner.

Seasons ftw. Fall is pretty much the only one that's about perfect in its entirety, and it's on deck boys! [thumb2]

Keep crying about summer & dreading the winter tho.

Exactly. Marcus be 75 and sunny. I just hate the short days.

-Don't live in Chevy Chase.

-I don't write for a living and I'm not asked to be anything but a fanatic or homer. Just a little dose of reality and objectivity would be nice. Plus, I'm a UK homer very optimistic for our basketball team... which by my estimation is on one of the 2-3 best runs in program history even though they refuse to run DDM. Football, I think anyone who knows me understands it's not even close to that. Pretty vocal in my Joker hate and early on, basically skipped an entire season to protest Joker. In fact I was 100% against the CIW deal.

Invite them in. Become fast friends and have a few cold ones and ask if they want to have fun with you and your military buddies getting waterboarded. Kinda think this could fix your problem with the poors.
