* I yelled "Whores! You can't even beat us with whores!" as I passed a small SUV loaded with UL decals, magnets and flags yesterday. Driver was an older black man in a suit who had a confused look on his face. Not what I expected. I felt bad.

Then I remembered the whores and laughed.

* Who Deys keep on rolling. 4 more prime time games in the 2nd half of the season. Hopefully, they will be healthy and ready for the post season this year. I think they are right there with the Broncos. Pats are awfully good, tho.

* Checking out of here around 3:30 to head down to Rupp. Excited.

* I'm so jealous of BBdK, I might stop at Cowboys on the way home tonight. Have a good time out there, Deep Dish.

* The Michigan/OSU rivalry is nuttier than I realized. Michigan is making me change the ending of all of my LED boards in their basketball arena because they are red and silver… Umm, those are Toyota's colors, sweetheart.

"Yeah, but they also are our biggest rival's colors." They won't even say their name.

* No soccer, no birthday parties… nothing scheduled for this weekend. First time in a while. I like it.

8-0. This is pretty damn fun, not gonna lie. First time I've really been able to follow a football team that's clearly one of the best in their league. Looking ahead though they may wind up being the 3 seed- Denver gets to host both NE and Cincinnati and that may decide things. But until then, 2015 Bengals sure as hell beat most of the other seasons of Bengals football I've followed over the years. The area is getting a Lexington-coming-into-March vibe to it too. The prime time games coming up help with that- 4/8 remaining games already scheduled for SNF or MNF. Obviously everyone is worried about what happens in January but shew wee this is fun in the precious present.

Yeah so Pitino needing to control the spin on everything is unsurprising to anyone. That's why I think it'll be a mistake for UL to keep him for the season, which they obviously are at this point, if you think you're parting ways with him eventually anyway. What does the school think is going to happen when Pitino has to do post game pressers on the road this winter? The league isn't going to let him trot out an assistant or grad transfer every night. The longer this goes on, the more painfully awkward this becomes for a school that's already dealing with crises on other fronts.

- Tough to beat JHB on Louisville-obsession, but CrankDat is definitely right there with him.

- Been quite :joy: to me seeing the ACC- second only to the Big 10 in sanctimony- proven to be just as, if not more so corrupt and ethically/morally-challenged than anyone. Eat ****, charlatans.

Ha. My research assistant is headed to Vegas this weekend, for the first time (he's only 22, not a rube), and asked me if I had any advice. Just told him that if he saw any bombed out looking short bald dudes smelling like menthols, gin and **** that were drunkenly bouncing around mumbling gibberish - STAY AWAY. WIDE BERTH.

He just looked at me confused, but that's good advice for all situations.

-Pitino playing the victim AGAIN, is just too hilarious. I thought Success was a CHOICE. No?

Hey just a suggestion, if you're going to build a dorm and name it after your beloved BIL, maybe make sure your people are keeping whores out of it. Also maybe don't publicly cheat on his sister. Would go a long way in not causing pain to his family. Especially the sister part of the family. Also, whores.

The dorm has the Minardi name on it, but nobody nationally would have any clue who that family is or that they're associated with whores if Pitino didn't use it to leverage his position. If he didn't mention it repeatedly, when you heard Minardi you'd just think of the dorm. But what do you think of? Whores, and Billy Minardi. You make that association because of Pitino.

Everyone who knows the Minardi family personally and runs into Dave or Sally Minardi at the supermarket or Starbucks HAS to be standing there thinking to themselves, "Whores, Whores, Whores, Whores, Don't mention the Whores, ***** Dorm Family, This is the ***** Dorm Family..." That wouldn't be happening without Pitino. He's the one dragging their name through the mud. Not Andre, not Katina. Pitino is dragging the Minardi name through the mud and shaming that family because it slightly, sort of, benefits him. Think about that.

Either typical Louisville gossip or there's still some pretty significant stuff to drop in the whole sordid scandal. Regardless, there's SCUTTLEBUTT.

Oh, there's been scuttlebutt all week. Jones has confirmed as much. Scuttlebutt that would really blow the roof off this thing.

Good Morning:

:: I like that the Bengals are winning. A lot of good points brought up during the game about their roster composition and how well they've drafted over the last four or five years. Four straight playoff appearances and one of the best rosters in the NFL is a far cry from the Bungles of the 90's and 00's. As a Bears fan I'd take Dalton, Marvin and their playoff losses in a heartbeat.

:: Wife has been responsible for planning a huge conference for the Society of Neurogastronomy this weekend. Basically, elite neurosurgeons and badass chefs from all over are coming to UK to study how the brain determines taste/flavor and what can be done to repair when the sense is lost. Apparently it happens often with chemo patients. This is the first year of what folks hope will be an annual event in Lexington. Proud my wife is an integral part of it and stoked I get to be present when Edward Lee throws down for the Joe Beef guys, Jehangir Metah, and Ouita Michel at 610 tonight.

:: Listening to a lot of podcasts recently. Food folks around these parts would enjoy The Sporkful. I've been rolling through the feed of old episodes. Unique, impeccably well done, and beyond interesting. By far the best thing I've added for windshield time this year.

:: I'm just not cool enough to bash the football team coming into this weekend. The fact is about 90% of the fan base had UK losing the last three games and 3-5 at this point while believing the Cats would still go bowling. UK is a game ahead of where most thought they'd be at this point. Though I too am leery of a players only meeting I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel on the season just yet.

:: Old news, but I'm still gushing over how well Lexington and Keeneland absolutely nailed the Breeder's Cup. Last Friday was one of the most fun days I've had since I moved to town well over 20 years ago.

:: Incidentally, the Grippo Crusted Rabbit at Distilled is one of the best dishes being served in Lexington right now.

:: Going to get another coffee and watch UofL get hammered on national platforms some more.

You can't just gloss over how we have lost 2 of the last 3. That's the issue. Hell, losing to Miss. State and Tennessee how we lost to Florida and Auburn would have actually been encouraging, albeit frustrating.

And the last time we didn't have Boom Williams, we were a frog hair away from losing to EKU.

I don't think anybody is upset with a 4-4 record. I don't think anybody is upset with losing at MSU. And I don't think anybody is upset with losing to an athletically superior UT team.

But it's the way those two losses went down that have people (rightfully) frustrated.

Regardless of the talent level, and regardless of Joker's ineptitude, there's absolutely no excuse for...

  1. losing by 26 to MSU (failing to cover the spread by 2 touchdowns)
  2. EIGHT MEN ON DEFENSE
  3. infighting
  4. nobody in the box to stop Dak Prescott
  5. giving up 68 points in the last 2 minutes of the half
  6. losing by 31 to UT (failing to cover the spread by 3 touchdowns)
  7. offensive incompetence
  8. etc
  9. etc
  10. etc

In year 3 of the Stoops era, we should be way past the kind of Amateur Hour shenanigans we've been subjected to the last 2 games.

I heard that Jazzy did absolutely nothing that one night because she had a bad case of scuttlebutt. Mega probably gave it to her.

All hearsay, but it ranges from the NCAA confirming the staff knew, to current players banged whores, to extramarrital activities. I don't know what's true or forthcoming, but there seems to be something else out there. Ergo, scuttlebutt.

-Of course that was the case for Pitino. If anyone thought it was because of legal advise, complete idiots. He bailed and sent the new guys so everyone felt sorry for them and wouldn't ask hard questions.

-They can use all the stall tactics, PR firms, good old boy ******** they want. Doesn't really matter.

-Battling my way back from the brink in gambol. Thanks to the gimme lines last night on Bungles and MSU.

I thought it was already confirmed that current players had sex with the whores both while they were recruits and on the team. Or was that ex-players?

-My only interest in the Bengals bandwagon is the inevitable crushing loss. I don't need any more disappointing program/franchises in my life. Reds and UK football are plenty.

-You can be optimistic of the program and not a fan boy. Just like you can be frustrated and still think Stoops is the guy. If you're not at least a little uneasy or concerned after the past few weeks and TWO players on meetings... you're delusional. This is coming from Anth.

This was going on until McGee left, so I'm sure there are some current players who banged some whores.

Also, of COURSE Rick knew. Not the details, but the scheme. I highly doubt they will ever get anyone to flip on him,so it will never be proven. But that toucher knew. ****, Jurich probably knew.

IMO this is Towles last chance tomorrow. If he puts up a 16-34 for 205 and 2 picks it is time to make a QB change.

At this point, a redshirt junior, he is what he is.

That is stupid. As inconsistent and MEH as Towles is, you don't give up on the season and put in somebody the coaches obviously don't think is as good (right now).

Making a bowl game this year is too damn important to this program.

I'll see that and raise you… not only did Rick and Tommy know, they participated. You can't tell me that there were whores being banged on campus and Ricky didn't join in. Literally impossible.

Tommy probably just held the whores down and smirked a lot. Maybe spanked a few. IMO.

Patrick Towles is still making the same mistakes he did as a true freshman. He obviously is at his ceiling. If Kentucky gets ran AGAIN this week and Towles looks inept like he has pretty much 3/4 of the season fans will want a QB change and they should get it.

Barker was the face of the 2014 recruiting class. If he is what they thought he would be it is time to give it a go. Can it be any worse than what we are getting now?

Yes. Yes it can. It can be much, much worse.

Serious question. Have you ever watched a Kentucky game before this year?

I'm not an avid ***** purchaser BUT I have to believe that Powell and her group weren't the only group. Just like Pitino didn't just slip up one night and decide to bang Sypher on a table for his only breaking of the vows. Also, this didn't stop when McGee left. In fact the biggest example happened after he left. Other people knew and other **** happened. Who that is and what the other stuff is... no idea but when you have guys that are bold enough to bring hookers into dorms, that wasn't the only illegal thing they were doing.

See, this just doesn't make sense to me. I'm sure Rick knew parties we're going on at Minardi Hall, and they were bringing girls in to entertain their recruits, but if Rick knew they were actually using hookers instead of jersey chasers and didn't do anything about it, he's the dumbest MF'er in the history of the NCAA. He should be smart enough to realize "COLLEGE ATHLETES AND HOOKERS" would be a huge public scandal (which it obviously is) and would result in serious NCAA penalties, not to mention effectively end his career and ensure his true legacy is two high-profile sex scandals. For an egomaniac like Rick, this is the worst consequence.

Yeah, he knew things were happening in Minardi Hall, and he probably turned a blind eye to it, but I'm almost certain he didn't know they were whores.

(Would love to be proven wrong on this point, though...)

Been going to games since 90.

Kentucky has scored 30 points the past two games with 1 td and 4 int through the air.

How long are we going to keep accepting below average QB play from a guy that has had 20 games now to prove his worth?

We should beat Vandy and Charlotte with Matt Roark under center. Those teams are terrible.

If Towles continues to show the same crap why not give the young guy a shot and look forward?
