Skal sucks right now. TS

Obviously he'll get better, but he's not remotely elite at the moment, and is miles behind the other elite bigs we've had recently.

Ben Simmons is going to be playing in the NIT. That's pathetic. I'm sure ESPN will be thrilled though to get to broadcast that one game LSU loses to a Patriot League team.

This UK team is not nearly good as everyone thinks. Said that since our first game. Way too inconsistent on D. Awful outside shooting team. Lack of physical presence down low.

Realize we didn't have our overall best player and it's all relative to the rest of the field but this team has some glaring holes.

Love Murray but he's so herky/jerky out there. He forces it some. He needs to settle down some and develop better rhythm. It would help if we ran some stuff for him. Streaky.

Poythress is an athlete but not a basketball player. Never will be. Stone hands and an atrocious bball IQ.

We don't have much low post scoring.

Briscoe can't shoot from outside at all. He also shoots 33% from a the FT line.

Think the Duke game was somewhat fool's gold in terms of how to evaluate this team overall.

How many games have we actually covered? We've played mediocre in more than games than we've played well in.

We all just need to pump the breaks with this bunch and that statement also considers the team with Ulis.

It wasn't fools' gold. That game was a perfect illustration of who we are- a team that is probably better than anyone penetrating and stopping penetration, along with some athletic bigs.

I think everyone here has a damn good grasp of who we are, but I haven't seen anyone better- maybe Michigan State, UNC with Paige and Kansas with Diallo.

We have weaknesses but in our only big game, we were clearly better than Duke who has shown itself to be a pretty good team.

I think you need to pump the brakes lecturing GYERO.

This team without Ulis doesn't need to be fully criticized. I think we all know we are terribly young and thin, but talented. Ulis is the guy that runs the show. We need him to win it all, and nobody will refute that. He changes everything offensively.

At least everybody else in the country also has glaring issues. It's a BAD college basketball season, guys. Maybe the worst.

But in no way is that a ringing endorsement of our team. I trust they'll get better. But the more I watch, the less I like. And they've won every game by double digits so far against a very well done schedule imo. Still, every game something new rears its head.

Tonight it was free throw shooting. But every night it's free throw shooting. I'm on the stat crew for Centre home games. They've missed 25 free throws in 5 games so far. Kentucky missed 17 tonight. Good lord. Be better.

Even Jamal Murray missed free throws tonight, likely because he's scared his coach is going to murder him in his sleep because he hates his dumb effing face. Apparently. But I'll leave that take up to BBdK. Weird stuff there.

It was also going into prevent offense tonight up 10 with 10 minutes left. But again...every night with the goof. Just like Adolph Rupp envisioned.

I will say that warts and all, even without our best player, we did a better job against those guys than Maryland did. Yay us, boo Maryland. North Carolina should beat them well enough to make people hush about them for a bit.

Stillhttp://

Calipari says Skal told him after one play "I tried." The coach: "You what?" Sit down, he said. https://t.co/MqVG9F1w9X
— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_CJ) December 1, 2015
mad at Marcus Lee for not caring enough about his team to dive on the floor after a loose ball on Friday, indirectly getting our best player injured in the process. But he was good tonight. Really good, even.

See? There can be good things too.

- Doing nothing and waiting until they fixed the problem fixed my TWC internet issue.

- We have beaten everybody we have played by at least 11 points. I guess we suck.

- Tired as touch, but I have a lot of work to do.

- Skal better pick it up. Play with the energy and effort of Lee and you're a star, kid.

Right now, you are SGinIndy getting schooled by BBdK.

- How confident are we that Ulis will play Thursday?

Well, if the biggest redass on the board- BK- hates us then we must suck.

This place has been a lot of fun today.

What are we pumping the brakes on? Has anyone expressed unrealistic expectations? I think most knew we had a ways to go. So we're not going 38-1. You going to trade this team for any other in the country?

Don't let UK football pissiness bleed over to UK Basketball. Skal, Briscoe, Matthews all played like **** and Ulis didn't play. In other words -> stop being pussies.

-We need Skal to be an animal, defending and blocking shots, not a slapdick terrified of grabbing a rebound. He brings an offensive dimension that Poythress and Lee lack so his defensive development is paramount for our success.

-Lee and Poythress are solid in their roles. The problem is that they are a bit redundant offensively in how they are utilized. Both guys are finishers and offensive rebounders. Neither have the skill to put pressure on defenders 1v1. When they are both on the court, it puts a lot of pressure on the guards to produce.

-That Briscoe/Hawkins/Matthews/Lee/Poythress lineup sure was something. It's a shame that they had to play offense against defenders.

-In a game like this, where we were desperate for an injection of skill, Willis should have gotten a little more run. He had a couple boards and a steal in limited minutes so it's not like he was a total dud defensively. His shooting would have taken pressure off Briscoe and Murray, who found themselves being the offense when on the court with Matthews/Poy/Lee.

I think a lot of us forget just how bad our other freshmen bigs looked at times early in the year. Skal will never be a great rebounder and may not be a Top 3 pick but he'll be damn good by February.

Murray is just confused on when to go and when to pull at this point. He drives when he should pull up and shoots when he should drive a lot. He'll get it.

Briscoe wasn't bad once he settled down. Still needs to learn what it means to be a PG/lead guard at this level.

And Poytyress/Lee may frustrate at times, but who else has two 6'9" athletic freaks who don't need the ball and are cool just defending and attacking the rim?

I get pumping the breaks, but 3 of our 6 best are going to get a helluva lot better.
