Skal has been bad, but our struggles across the board in the backcourt may be even more disappointing.
I disagree. When you don't have a legit post presence to feed, it forces everything out even farther. I don't have the cute numbers to prove my point but when the defense doesn't respect a presence on the block, it puts more pressure on the guards to make plays individually as opposed to opportunities that naturally come about as a result of the system you're running.
Both units have been bad but our piss poor play by our bigs is by far the most disappointing to me, and that mostly has to do with Skal being a huge gash. It'd be amazing how many more open shots we would get
off the catch if we get
anything from a big. Since we currently don't, guard play I s off low percentage drives and 1v1. That will bring anyone's shooting % down considerably. Skal is useless. AP either gets caught on the baseline, stripped, or has his **** tossed. Izak doesn't play so who knows? And now the Kiwi is unfairly getting pressure placed on him to be the missing piece so when he turns into crap it will be even uglier.
I understand this debate is a chicken or the egg in terms of respective unit struggles but that's JMO. Game tends to give better flow to it when you work inside---->out. When you don't have an inside -- it's all ****.
