As the Cal Era went on, and college basketball continued to evolve into the lawless quagmire that it is today, I wondered if I could ever really love a UK team again. The players kept coming and going, the name on the front of the jersey seemed to mean less with each passing year, and the on-court results weren't enough to make up for the uneasy feeling.

This team, though. I love this team.

(Ir)regardless of how the rest of the season plays out, this bunch is special. And this coach is special.

Besides my 70+ year old Carolina family members and their friends liberally using Pubert all the time, a couple like to use “Waiting for Cadeau” (instead of Godot) when he screws something up.

The inattention to their lack of bolstering the frontcourt in the offseason is so bizarre. Like, that’s what you decided to roll with?

ESPN still sucking off UNC. On Sportscenter they talked about the tough SOS, yada yada yada. Well that SOS schedule is all good, you do not have to win them all, but you sure as hell can't lose them all. UNC is not helping their resume by losing EVERY big game.
13-9
@Duke - 13-10
Pitt - not a guarantee, but call it a W - 14-10
@ Clempson - L 14-11
@ Syracuse - W 15-11
NC State - W 16-11
Virginia - W 17-11
@ FSU - L 17-12
Miami - W 18-12
V-Tech - W 19-12
Duke - L 19-13
Their "best" win is v/s 15-6 UCLA. No way in hell is that a tournament resume.
If it wasn't for a historically bad ACC, they would be lucky to finish .500. TMFS.

Many of us have witnessed big game rupp but only a handful have witnessed hostile rupp. jealous of you that will be there

I do agree that silence would hurt his big greasy ego more than ground shaking boos but Bill J Wildcat (as we have been elevated too since the hiring of our present saintly head coach) will be fully off the wagon back to Billy Joe on saturday night.

Saturday night you get the crowd that was chanting walsh is gay.

The 3 from the mountains was fantastic, but I was just as happy when Noah got the loose ball and finished the layup. He has a knack for long rebounds and loose balls. That is a role that needs to be filled. If he can provide that, then we are in great shape going forward. If Chandler keeps providing solid D, even better!

It’s gotta be brutal to be a Tennessee fan at Thompson Boling and hear that GBB chant as the seconds tick down to an L. I would be seething with rage if I was them.

Definitely an unexpected win, and the first game all season I didn’t have set to “appointment television” in my head for the entire day. I did watch stretches as I ran my usual evening errands and listened to Tom and Goose on my drives.

Can we talk about Goose? I love him on commentary. Dude is so giddy watching these games. He has great insight and describes situations beautifully. He’s a great fit with Tom imo.

Speaking of commentary, one of my pet peeves is when color commentators or talking heads on espn are referred to as “announcers”. There’s play-by-play, and commentators. The announcer is the dude at the game. Not a big deal at all, but it makes me want to drive a piece of steel rebar into someone’s skull everytime they do it.

Hubert Davis looks like if Ken Griffey jr was halfway animorphed into a duck

Be interesting to see if UNC goes outside of the family for the next hire or if they go with Wes Miller for the exact same results as Hubert. Only time will tell!

Would be a much juicier story if some of the guys on our roster had played here under Cal.

And now we go to Draya, who is with Otega Oweh - Otega, how will you feel seeing your former coach on the other sideline?

🤮 Thank goodness, no. Let's just focus on the basketball and not the sideshow.

And Pope will already have enough questions to answer about Cal, I'm glad that Rece, Bilas and the other two idiots aren't going to drag him out on Saturday morning and ask him even more inane questions.

I hope Oweh comes out and dunks on Thiero early in the game to set the tone kind of how DA did UL almost 3 decades ago.

It isn’t just Cal I hope gets booed, it’s Wagner, Thiero and Z too! They all left for the chicken money and I just hope Pope doesn’t take his foot off the gas at all.

100-40 isn’t bad enough IMHO, and I am also hopeful Noah and Perry get some run enough to drain a few 3’s each on Cal’s awful team so KY kids have a part in sending him back to Fayetteville with his tail tucked.

The problem with booing, even though that's what he deserves, is it will be spun by him and all his gay buddies at ESPN as anger at him for leaving. Ignoring him altogether or a polite golf clap is the play. Anyone giving him a standing ovation is a self loathing cuck.

This x 100.

This game would be more appealing nationally if Arkansas wasn't the college equivalent of the Flint Michigan Tropics. I suppose UNC isn't much better though.
Don't discount the trio of Moon, Monix, & Coffee Black. Throw in Bee Bee, Twiggy, Scootsie, & Vakidis and you have a serviceable lineup.

I do not know why, but Arkansas / UK this Saturday, just has the feel of a UL/UK game. I guess it is because of so many former players and the recruits now at Arkansas. I mean, UL /UK is a heated, bitter rivalry game, I expect a similar situation come Saturday. Every player will bring a little extra juice to this one, I just hope there is not a bunch of shenanigans to tarnish the game (fights / T's / chippiness. Play hard, compete, give it your all, and in the end, beat the **** out of the Hogs (on the scoreboard).

Big, if true.
