Close your eyes. Well, after reading this close your eyes.
Now imagine that it's Tuesday, January 20th 2026 at 9 PM. It's 18 degrees outside and it's been dark since 5:30 PM. You're at your house because you have kids and a job. But you've had a big day. You've worked out, gone to work, made a nice dinner, hung out with your kids, and even made love to your wife.
Now I ask you this: Exactly what the F could possibly be better after all that than cracking a cold one and watching UK play Texas?
-Not living in 18 degrees sounds better

, always warm enough for an evening bike ride down by the bay.
A late night walk in the botanical gardens sounds awesome, they’re usually closed in the evenings though. Went to one during Christmas last year all lit up, that was dope, even brought the dog. But yes botanical gardens aren’t an uncommon event for us. Check out Harry Leu Gardens if you’re ever in the Thornton Park/Orlando area, great history and the largest botanical collection in North America, if I remember correctly.
I could live in the Appalachian or Rocky mountains though, at least where they’re big enough to have activities and beautiful vistas.
Glad to read some White Wayne posts again.
-I like being criticized for not working as if working is a brag if you don’t have to for a while

. I prefer semi-retired, but if I start firefighting we just work two days a week anyway…
-I could sell my house in Lexington and move to Central/South America and sell sea shells by the seashore for the rest of my days and that would be

, in fact it’s been discussed, thank you.
-Sorry whoever said that but we don’t get Hallmark because we don’t get any channels… might pay for a movie here or there. Burned through the Last of Us during a couple rainy weekends.
Also, 80 hours of UK basketball is 3+ days per year. If it makes you happy have at it though.
I still love UK and our teams and hope they win all their games, I just don’t watch it every game. I get my sports info from KSR. Also, a LARGE percentage of this thread has never been about UK sports, it’s about day to day ******** we all experience. People on here that know way more than me about sports already breakdown the games and teams so no one would give a **** to hear my opinion on them as it would provide nothing so I don’t post redundant sports takes.
-Sorry geese, I mostly just post between sets at the gym bro, like right now.
-It’s a retrospec, not a Huffy. And I don’t drink beer. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but pretty much every town in KY is a third rate town to 92% of people…
Speaking of, has anyone biked the Banff Legacy Trail or around Vancouver? Not trying to do extreme mountain biking just challenging but not get hurt biking on paved paths or some well maintained trails. Other locations are welcome just would like to get to some mountains.
-Speaking of KSR, reading the book I Regret Almost Everything by Keith McNally that
@MattJones recommended and halfway through it’s really interesting. What a different guy and crazy path he took. He created the restaurants Odeon and Balthazar in NYC.
Next up is another Tana French book or I’ll start into Don Winslow’s second (I believe) trilogy after The Power of the Dog, City on Fire about the NYC mob.
After 48 Laws of Power (Audible) will be Targeted: Beirut by Jack Carr. I’ve read his entire catalog almost starting with the Terminal List series, definitely recommend but you all can just watch the movies too

.
