Unconventional Kentucky Double.
Theoretically, Kentucky and Louisville can still both finish 7-5 this year.

* Until JQ arrives, I'd like to see Pope experiment with Jelavic at the 5 next to Dioubate. BG seems to be just floating out there so I'm not sure what's he's really giving at the moment. Jelavic has the size to guard the 5 and has looked as good as any of our bigs defending guards on switches.

We need some more shooting in the starting line-up.

* This early, it is probably best for everyone for Lowe to take the redshirt and let us adjust the rotation and adapt now. The worst thing would be for him to try to play through the pain for a month and then have to hang it up and waste the year.

Assuming Lowe's out for the year, I don't mind a point guard rotation of Aberdeen and Jasper. This will force Jasper to primarily play point rather than allow Pope to get him minutes at the 2 and 3 to let Jasper show off his scoring ability, which will hopefully be good for his development.

If Jasper develops, we could have two jumbo size point guards by March who can also score and shoot. There are worse problems, especially if Chandler is going to solidify himself as a starter -- which seems probable.

That opens a hole at the 3 for either Noah or Williams to establish himself as Oweh's backup.

I still love my team. Beat Sparty.

That was a pretty good choke by UL last night. Clemson offense is trash but they still have a pretty solid defense up front with 3-4 NFL dudes on it. UL was without their #1 RB. Love to see their season take a complete nose dive down the stretch, they have SMU next, then UK.

I think we are going to beat those hooligans. 🙏

This coming from a guy with a long history of shoulder dislocations. Based on my experience, for his own good and the good of UK fan’s expectations, Lowe should just bite the bullet and get shoulder surgery. He’s not going to be able to play high level basketball without injuring it again and again.

After dislocating mine initially, I did it several times playing playground basketball. I never got it fixed and just learned through a lot of excruciating pain what I could and couldn’t do. I never had surgery and it virtually shut down a promising church league basketball and softball career. 😉

I know that his is being called a ‘separation’ and I’m not sure of the distinction, but Pope would be wise to just let JJ and DA man the position and roll with it. It might lower our ceiling and trajectory, but I think those guys are capable of splitting the duties. (I actually witnessed JJ pass the ball a few times last night). This would be better than giving UK fans false hope in believing that our Savior is sitting there waiting for his shoulder to heal.

Probably not.

This is just a freak anomaly. I can't remember a torn labrum to a UK basketball player other than/since Dale Brown in 1993, and now, in back to back years, we lose our vitally important starting PG to identical injuries. The statistical probability of that happening is absurd. I'm not generally superstitious but it's enough to make an otherwise rational person actually BELIEVE in curses.

How different would our season be, if Boley gets the keys to the offense to start the season? Stoops and Hamdan should go to Hollywood with their ability to keep a straight face while saying that Calzada and Cutter were neck and neck in the preseason.
They didn’t want to eat the NIL and look bad while paying Calzada to be a backup, plain and simple. A decision that probably cost us a win or two.

For 2 years, I've been as down on Stoops as anyone (more than almost all) but even I think you have to keep him.

Just for the love of all that is blue and white, get rid of that ******* Mitch asshat.

He's a sanctimonious cockroach.
That's pretty much where I'm at. Between all the openings at schools on UKs level and slightly above, you see the foundation. It's obviously all dependent on Cutter though. They finally have a local, developed QB and they have momentum.

I don’t care how good Vandy is or how bad we are, if you are going into that game defeated like we are playing Bama, UGA or the like then it’s a bad issue.

2-0 in these games is possible, and to finish on a 5-0 run would be about as an impressive thing that’s Stoops has done here.

Of course he’ll be offered a job elsewhere and take it too if that happens!

Stoops is not getting another job if we win out. That's what started all this BS with his contract and how we got to where we are now. He's not a sexy hire and never has been. He's always gonna be the hire for a Power 4 program that whiffed on their first 5 or 6 choices. He's not losing his job this year either.

He's not walking away from the money or restructuring where it's not to his benefit. The team has rallied and he's Barnhart's guy. Unless I'm mis-remembering, Stoops has done this a couple times before where the schedule was loaded on the back half so he got off a couple of times to 5-1 starts but then the schedule got really hard and we started losing. This year the schedule was a lot harder the first half and now we're taking advantage. At the same time, good on him, I always want UK to win and I'm not gonna root for him to !ose and always admire people who overcome adversity.

Barnhart, OTOH, has got to be sent packing(and probably won't) but he's public enemy number one as far as I'm concerned. No accountability and in charge for far, far, too long. Our window of opportunity has probably closed on this year's coaching carousel. Sumrall has got to get either LSU or Auburn and there are still openings at Florida and Penn State. Other places like VTech have a head start. Other jobs like Ole Miss may find themselves with an opening. Anyone we get will be a coordinator (and Stein, who is my choice at this point, may be off the board, too), a FCS or D-II guy and hope you win the lottery and get the next Cignetti or if all else fails you get a retread like a Malzahn or Freeze and I don't think you get rid of Stoops for one of those guys.

I can't see us losing Cutter to NIL. I feel sure whatever the number is, it will be met because it has to be. UK can't have the PR nightmare of having a favorite son who is THE piece to build it's football program for the next 2-3 years, leave for another SEC school or Big Ten because UK did not want to pay and then UK try to say it's serious about competing in SEC football. The kid is diehard UK and unless there's something we don't know behind the scenes, if he and his family think UK is doing right by him, there's nothing to worry about. Part of the reason he left Larue County to play at LCA was to be in close proximity to the UK football program.

Football is fine. Barnhart needs to go and, assuming we win one of the next two, Stoops needs to get off his *** and do some PR here next summer and otherwise fix some nagging errors. Other than that, it is what it is.

Has anyone watched The Chair Company? I'm caught up and I am not really sure if I love it or not -- but I will be finishing the season. It is one of the more unique things I've seen on TV. My wife tolerates it. I'm reasonably sure women are not in Tim Robinson's target demo. Oh well -- I've had to come up with tons of nonexistent opinions when she asks what I think about whatever she's decorating this weekend, so it is fair play.

I also feel good about the next two weeks but worry about how much we disguise signals and what not against Louisville with Vince on their staff now. That BS when Shannon Dawson went to USM and knew everything because nothing was changed was unacceptable. Also, fully on Pope bandwagon but we got to beat Michigan State this Tuesday. It will help the sting of the Louisville loss but it's gonna get ugly if we're 3-2 and a bad performance with Georgetown thrown in too.

-Louisville fans are the little brother who lose 9 straight games on Madden (handily) then talk trash like they were the ones winning. Then they finally win one and are somehow even more annoying than before.

-Have been giving that nerd Mark Ennis hell on twitter lately. To his credit, he hasn’t blocked me by now like the Deeners and Sheriffs of the world have.

-Krazy you were right about UK winning a conference game and since I’m a man of my word I’ll be signing over my distillery to you.

-Signed up for KSR+ to see what they were saying about Lowe’s injury and woo boy those posters are nuts. Blaming Pope and/or UK’s medical staff for random injuries are the type of fans that make our fanbase look nuts. They also act like we’re the only team dealing with injuries. That subscription will be a one month and done.(is HOB any better lately?)

-From what I can tell is that if Lowe has surgery it’s a complicated surgery with a rough rehab so he’d be out for the year more than likely.

-Houston/Auburn & Florida/Miami today.

-UofL fans hate him but he’s right. Them honoring Jurich Friday was hilarious to me.

That is the typical response from those who accept and endorse mediocrity in the football program. This will be the 4th straight year w/ a losing record in the SEC, and 6th in 7 seasons. Yep, just fix nagging errors, have him do some PR at his fav pub and then you'll see them in the final 12.

Football is fine.....lol. Stoops is a clown show and is wayyyyy overdue to be on the train.

Youve been talking to yourself about my distillery for weeks. I have no clue what the hell you are talking about.

Thanks I guess for allowing me to keep my distillery.
You said you wanted to bet something with me saying UK wouldn’t win a conference game and asked me to name the terms and I said I’d put my distillery up against yours. Please try to pay attention.
